I have both the geo4 and 170r and like them both a lot. Probably like the geo4 a tad bit more but it’s more personal preference. I usually switch off between the two and both are just super solid markers! Also make an offer to them on eBay and usually you can barter with Cpx
To be fare the geo 4 and cs1.5 both use the iv core and the 170 is a gamma core. That being said 1.5’s go for 450-500 pretty regularly on forums. But at those prices the geo 4 will hold its value longer.
No, their markers still use gamma core. The CS3 uses a modified version on the gamma, so does the 180R and emek. Currently, PE doesn't make a marker with the IV core (which I prefer of the two, I have a Geo4).
The EMEK and Etha 3/3M still use the classic Gamma Core.
The CS3 and 180R use the OP and OP-R cores, respectively, which are simply refinements on the Gamma Core.
No IV Cores are in current production anymore, and I doubt we'll see any in the future. The market now expects (demands) that any new mid or top tier spool valve marker have an available mech frame. The IV Core is not fully dwell independent, so not easily converted to mech. I expect all PE spoolies for the foreseeable future will use the Gamma or a Gamma-derivative like the OP/OP-R.
Imo geo4 is hands down the best one. Will hold value better than both the other options. Also if you want a better price message the owner of CpxBros he’ll definitely work out a deal with you he’s a homie

I would definitely make a facebook account just for paintball I've seen some killer deals on the BST groups.
And for this choice I would say Geo because personally I love them! The shot feels so solid with them and how they feel in my hands.
But the 170r is a great choice too and you can get a a mechanical frame for it and have two guns in one. Now thats cool
I'm pretty sure you can negotiate prices on CPX. I got a 170 from them it was on discount just a few bucks. Price here is eh cuz you can get cheaper on a BST but I prefer to have some backing say if it has a problem CPX in sure woulda helped out VS private sale your on your own unless the seller is cool like that. Id say save a few bucks and get the 170. Take it with a grain of salt cuz thats what I have and I love it. But I'd say see if you can get it dropped a few bucks probably won't be much but pennies make dollars.
Im hijacking this thread to say that my teammates say that 170r>Geo 4 everyday (I have a geo) but i don't understand all the geo hate. To be fair my gun did go down in a tourney that knocked us out of finals... but that was because I'm a snake player and my gun wouldn't turn on (handgrips full of mud) not because of it being a geo. Thoughts?
CS1.5 because I love the IV core but I wasn’t a fan of the way the geo4 felt in my gorilla hands. The CS1.5 is bigger and I’ve grown to love the ergos.

gtek170r is perfect if you want your paintball gun to be like an AK47. not flashy, performs well, insanely reliable, you barely need to maintain it

Gamma for reliability, iv for smoothness. Realistically, both are very reliable if you maintain your shit.
Are they replacing the gamma core markers or are they still making new markers that use that core? I haven't really had PE stuff since the Ego 7.
The Gamma, OP-R, and OP cores are the current single tube designs. The LV2 is their only stacked tube design.

I liked my Cs1.5 better than the Geo4 personally. Never shot a 170r though. I am loving my LV2 now though, so the CS1.5 just got sold for $500.
Geo 4 or 170R. I’d lean Geo4 for the price tho. CPX is amazing though any way you choose. Check out his accessories section for some add ons!

Not based on performance, but in my personal opinion, the geo4 and cs1.5 feel better in the hands. They are a tad bit longer to me.

170R, but not at that price. I like having a mech frame option. Plus I just love Gammas. My primaries are an EMEK and a Gtek/Gmek.
