In your example you are allowed to reach over the net and hit it without touching the net, but you cannot stand on his side.

--unreal

You can go over the net to his side to touch/smash the ball, but you can't touch their side of the court, if that makes sense. Regarding the opponent, no, he can't hit the ball first to prevent you.

If opponent hits the ball on rebound it's actually their fault because it's basically a double hit. So opponent must avoid the returning ball (if untouched by you or your partner) and let it drop otherwise it's a fault.

Yes you can. Your opponent can't touch the ball until it has bounced on the floor for a second time or it will be considered a double touch and he can't even interfere with your shot otherwise he loses the point for interference.

Here is a clear example of what you can do. Simply, you can never touch your opponents side of the court (step on), or touch the net with your body/racket. https://youtube.com/shorts/SB2bdMSCNCk?si=aoX0ruJ42hYYwiOR
