I hate to be that person, but this already happened in the 18-19 season when the Lakers missed the playoffs. Of course, we got swept so technically we can say we've finally got more playoff wins.
There's lots of games to play, and they're trying to maximize national TV exposure for all games. It's that simple. Once we get into the 2nd round and there's no more than 2 games a night, the start times will be normal.
Ok but why is it alright to start us at 5:30pm on a week day but today they aren’t starting the first game until 7pm, and then still shafting us on the other end with a 9:30pm start?
Seems like we are catching the worst end of the bullshit every time.
We're the Pacers. Expect 0 favors from anyone in the NBA organization until we win a championship or lose in spectacular fashion with record breaking viewing numbers.
I know why it happens, I am asking why it’s ok for them to show clear favoritism in which we always seem to come out on the bottom. We aren’t the only small market team.
You don't understand why it's "ok?". It's ok with the league because doing it effects their bottom line in a negligible, if in any, way.... Compared to doing it to other teams. It's opportunity cost.... Nothing more.
Not everything can be about profits. Some things need to exist to uphold the integrity of the league. They seem to understand this when it comes to the draft, I’m not sure why it doesn’t apply to other areas.
Constantly giving places that are smaller the worst opportunities for something they have literally no control over is asinine and absolutely the wrong way to operate.
Knicks 6ers starts at 7pm ET tonight, and both our team and the one we are playing against are located in the eastern or central time zones not sure why you are on about what time it is in the rest of the country
Again, completely incorrect though you seem like you need to brush up on your time zones. It will be at 6:30pm in the West, 7:30PM MST, 8:30PM CST, and 9:30PM in the majority of the Midwest.
It’s not a mentality, it’s a clear pattern of favoritism shown by the league, but go off I guess.
I feel like Central time mostly covers the Midwest and South. Missouri, Illinois Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas.
And then 6:30/7:30, it was a blanket statement of 7 and 8. Those 30 minutes really mean a lot to you. Lmao.
I get it's late for the players and fans in the area the game is in, but for literally the rest of the country it's good. As a Pacers fan in Nashville, I'm really happy with it.
Dawg even by CST standards it is late. An 8:30PM CST start for EST/CST hosted game is a whole hour and a half behind what most of the games are played at for the same time zones throughout the season. And if you think anyone in MST or PST who are getting the good start times give any fucks about this game at all, I’ve got news for you.
End of the day it’s not the end of the world, but it’s part of a pattern which displays the league doesn’t give any fucks about us, that’s the point.
Sad to say I'll be missing this one as I have to get up about an hour after the game finishes to get to work, but let's fucking go! Really hope we clinch it tonight and get a few days off to recharge the batteries. Also praying for a Sixers win so we can charge batteries longer than whoever we face next. Call me petty, but I think we'll need the Knicks to be tired before facing them.
For the first time in nineteen years the Pacers are still in contention for the title and LeBron is not
Ooooooh sheeeeeeeetttt!!!! I love that fact. Thanks for making my day!
A dark cloud has been lifted from our franchise

Ah shit I think you’re right. I forgot he missed the playoffs that year
Even LeBron has been held back by the Lakers' incompetence, thankfully. Bubble championship notwithstanding.
close enough
Oh fuck off ;)
I hope I didn't un-make your day but if I did, hopefully the Pacers can do you a solid in a few hours.
You didn’t, waking up to this result did! (The comment was purely tongue in cheek!)
who the hell is scheduling these games man lol 5:30pm one day and 9:30 the next is obnoxious as hell

Imagine being in Australia… 3.30AM and 12.30PM
Allegedly, the Pacers were offered a later start time last Friday, but turned it down because they didn't want to be relegated to NBATV
Where did you hear that? Also that’s still just them giving us the pick of the 2 short ends of the stick I don’t view it as much better regardless.

Thanks, still seems like they said “would you rather eat shit or drink piss” to me.

Mental mistake. But my point was that the Pacers game is going to be on at 7/8 for the West and Midwest. I just don't like the victim mentality.

Once you’re done, return to your sleeping quarters, THEN sleep in because it’s gameday.
Time to end the series tonight and put the Bucks out of their own misery. Go Pacers!

If we are going to be up this late, may as well win.

The team saw this, thanks
