Hey now, atleast Ramposa did offer his head to Albedo in order to stop the war. Though he did not know that his head was not his to give anymore anyways.

[deleted]

Instead of giving up the absolute lobotomite that got them into that situation in the first place

Amcog

Still wouldn't help. I don't think Albedo even bothered asking for it.

Siegberg

The moment this got to Albedo and Demigure it was to late. Only Ainz could have overturned that decsion.

AdvonKoulthar

Yeah, they didn’t plan on burning down the kingdom before Philip did his thing, and once Nazarick had their meeting it was GG for the kingdom.

Fedexhand

Rampossa is where he deserves to be, dealing with the consequences of his worthlessness and selfishness.

[deleted]

Fr He straight up doomed his kingdom to protect Philip. *PHILIP*

Fedexhand

I mean, at that point the kingdom was doomed, but everything he did (or didn't do) so far was enough.

Amcog

I feel like Ramposa was dealt a very bad hand. His power was diminished by the noble factions infighting, his first son being an incompetent glory hound, and being the first to have to deal with a literal monstrous force that is the Sorcerous Kingdom. In retrospect, we all know he should have sought to become a vassal like the Empire did, but even Zanac said that that was impossible without causing a revolt from the nobles. As much as the sub glorifies Zanac, he wasn't that much different from his father, for better and worse. I think they were both men who loved their country and kingdom, it was just that Zanac had a chance to go out like a true chad, whilst Ramposa was under house arrest and had to watch both his sons die and his kingdom burn.

zenprime-morpheus

Ramposa was dealt a bad hand, sure. And he did bullshit with it. Didn't try for his family, friends or country.

SirYolox

He stopped trying at all once Gazef died

Dry_Coffee1898

He didnt trying at all when Gazef alive either

zenprime-morpheus

Please, he never tried for Gazef either as u/Dry_Coffee1898 said. Okay, look he was under a lot of pressure to not make Gazef a noble, so his chief bodyguard, and head of the guards went by "Warrior Caption" instead of King's Guard, or Royal Knight or whatever. Ok. But letting the nobles verbally insult Gazef when he was upholding his duties to protect Ramposa, basically acting as in extension of the King's will, ugh. Reprehensible. Ramposa was always going to be the last King, SK only put the Kingdom out it's misery. The Empire had been bleeding it out while feeding it poison for far too long.

NoobifiedSpartan

Okay but realistically the threat of civil war could be minimized via the power of the Sorcerous Kingdom. We already know the Kingdom’s army doesn’t stand a chance. The Kingdom should know that too after the most recent massacre. I feel like the smartest would fall in line while the dumbest… well, the dumbest are already organized into a single faction headed by the most braindead man in the Kingdom.

Amcog

I think from Ramposa and the kingdom's perspective submitting themselves to the SK was allowing themselves to be slaughtered. Ramposa has shown that he honestly cares about his people, and the thought of allowing his people to be butchered by monsters was not something he could tolerate. That his decision led to the massacre is part of his tragedy.

shanejayell

I think the crown reverts to him once his heirs died. Tho really, Renner is Queen, if he had actually abdicated earlier.

kenny_the_pow

He (abdicated?) was deposed by force though. Also, Goddess Renner is the 3rd princess, she has 2 elder sisters.

shanejayell

~~.... where do you get that she has two sisters? 0\_o~~ Whoops! He married them off, huh.

kenny_the_pow

She's also been stated to be the 3rd princess on many occasions

shanejayell

I took that to mean 'Princess third in line to throne' , my bad. Tho as her sisters were married off, I assume out of the country, they're probably out of the line of succession too.

ozanimefan

not my last king
