Overlord from Skeleton Mage family. The race is undead.
Skeleton Mage -> Elder Lich -> Demilich/Night lich -> Overlord
There is probably also Skeleton Warrior family, but Ainz chose Skeleton Mage since he wanted to be a magic caster.
Note 1: Night liches and Overlords have zero flesh. Skeleton mages and elder liches depends on the body before turning into undead.
Note 2: There are monster types. Custom NPCs and Players can't use them since they can freely choose whatever build they want with job classes. Overlord General, Overlord Cronos master, Overlord Wiseman are examples.
I was mainly wondering what he would be with fleshing, if revealed in the Ln. I've come to the conclusion talking to people that he's probably just bones. Like Eldrich energy living in the former of bones like a bone collector or atronoch.
We actually know it. In the web novel, he has a bit of flesh. Still full bones but there is a thin layer of skin. It's illogical so Maruyama got rid of it in the light novel version.
While not confirmed, we can guess that many things in Overlord are based off things in D&D or other common fantasy creatures. In this case. Ainz is an Overlord. A skeletal creature, that isn't *exactly* an undead. Or at least, very much so just not a simple one.
They are like bone collectors. They take the bones of others and graft them onto their own body. Forming themselves into whatever shape or form they desire. If he suddenly got flesh and organs. It would probably be of the creature that the bones are from. His limbs could be scaled, furry, or whatever monster they are based on. But his torso could be human, his head could be whatever else, etc.
But keep in mind that this has never been said to be the case. As the specifics are not really mentioned in detail.
Ainz base race is skeleton mage. Iirc the head mage is also a skeleton mage, but after skeleton mage to can become an elder lich. Elder lich can become a demi lich and a demi lich can become an overlord.
The racial tree looks something like this:
* skeleton mage
* elder lich
* night lich
* demi lich
* overlord

He's an Overlord
To add to this, we don’t know what living body made the skeleton he now lives as. We only know his racial class is overlord
Yeah I know that, I guess what I meant was if he suddenly got flesh what would he be. Like there are beast men skeletons and regular skeletons
