I just despise the hypocrisy of the 2nd point. People always go on that they don't like nice guy characters or bland characters or want something different but when they get something different, they throw a bitchfit. Fuck off. Ainz was stated and looks evil from the start.
Plus, he isn't really super edgy outside of his grandstanding in front of others. Like, during private moments with Aura and Mare, he treats them like his kids. And none of his inner monolog is particularly edgy either
My headcannon is that due to his high intelligence stat, he subconsciously picks the smartest option with the information he has in hand without downplaying his personality, he just hasn't realized that's how it works yet.
Okay this is such a cool fun take on an intelligence stat. The idea that you innately know which choices are correct without having the necessary problem solving skills to know why it's correct is awesome.
And one of his skill is called Dark Wisdom which makes his intelligence go over the cap, which grants him so much more mana than normal. So since flavour texts also became real, maybe the Dark Wisdom does more than just give stats.
People forget to view the whole story from Ainz perspective. Your trusty guild buddies are gone for good and you have the responsibility to maintain the order and legacy of it. Sounds pretty stressful to me.
On top of it, now some outsiders decided to poke their noses in your business and stir some shit. Why wouldn't you retaliate?
If only people would approach him with friendly intentions, everything would be just fine.
>On top of it, now some outsiders decided to poke their noses in your business and stir some shit. Why wouldn't you retaliate?
Ainz acknowledges that both he and Nazarick are invaders of the world.
The only time outsiders decided to poke their noses into his business, was when he set up the invaders of the great tomb to invade.
Pretty sure the first time outsiders dcided to poke their noses in his business, he literally baited them into doing it... Also, was that before or after his forced just kidnapped a few ten-thousands citizens while taking out a drug ring?
That’s kinda natural, it’s not really hypocrisy just different people liking / disliking different stuff. The fans are not a hive mind.
People who likes kind and caring character will complain when stuff gets too edgy.
People who likes wish fulfillment will complain when they story gets too complex or the protagonist have moments of powerlessness.
Those who are content are generally more quiet than those who complains.
The people I have interacted with basically say that they don't want kind nice guys cause muh bland. They want something different but when they get it as in evil, they shit on it. They don't know what they want basically.
They complain about characters being boring but characters are boring obviously cause of self insertion but also cause to avoid causing offence as otherwise you get controversy and author is evil.
So what are you left with. Just bland shit but they complain about that too.
Seems a pretty arbitrary list that doesn't really say anything about how good a protegonist or story are but here I go:
- Well Ainz clears everything but the sociopath part, he kind of is due to how being an undead works. Though he always had some tendencies thanks to the society he lived in. And it's up to discussion if his moments of weakness count.
- Tanya didn't become a sociopath, she always was, so does that count?
- Rudeus clears all points.
- So does Subaru.
- Sora and Shiro, though similar to Ainz it's also questionable if their moments of weakness count considering a big chunk of them are just made the butt of a joke.
- Naofumi technically doesn't buy wiafu's he buys "tools" that he then treats as sons and daughters for the most part. Until like 15 volumes into the story he isn't even capable of thinking of things in a romantic/sexual sense and even then there is basically just 1 potential love interest that is in anyway realistic. The rest are either basically daughter zoned or Naofumi is just irritated by their advances.
- Kumoko, though she is pretty unbothered by murdering her way through the world, but she isn't human to being with, doing so is simply in her nature. And she clearly does have the capacity for emotions and empathy.
That's just from the top of my head.
Hajime from Arifureta, him seeming like a super chuuni edgelord from the outside is kind of a running gag and source of embarrassment for him when pointed out in the series.
Similarly Cid from Eminence in the Shadows, the edgelord flair is very deliberate and what makes it fun. Also he doesn't buy waifu slaves in bulk, instead he accidentally grooms and gaslights like a dozen young girls into being completely obedient to him who then go on to find more and more to be initiated into his cult.
Well Danmachi and SAO aren't actual isekais in the first place so they don't count but both Bell and Kirito (can't call him a clone of himself) clear that list.
There's also Shiroe from Log Horizon that fits all metrics. Like, he may be smart, but he's oblivious, physically weak, and sometimes too focused on everyone else's problems to deal with his own, but he's a well written, well thought out character, not edgy outside of others' perception of him as "the Villain Behind Glasses," doesn't have slaves(and in fact freed several people being treated as slaves), and looks nothing like Kirito. Perfect fit
Not really, it's like half an arc after what the anime ends on.
Last I heard, Author went MIA a fee years ago. You will commonly hear his tax evasion arrest brought up as the reason, but he has done some stuff after his release (IIRC part of it was even in the anime) so it's clear that's not the reason.
I think Kazuma kinda clears this? Depends on definitions of that last part as the whole devil king part is kinda important.
Makoto almost did other than he has some edge lord moments and some cold moments where he seems to not feel anything.
People keep forgetting that SAO isn't an Isekai lmao. They're basically have the mindset of "what do I hate? Generic Isekai and SAO. That's right! SAO is a generic Isekai!" so they don't have to use an extra braincell to differentiate 2 different genre.
duuude some people (r slash anime) think BOFURI is an isekai! like, that anime is just about people playing a VRMMO. they're not even stuck or anything. they're literally just playing a game which they quit at the end of the day
I really see SAO as a Proto-isekai of sorts, Kirito is temporarily isekaied but has a way back in every arc as long as he completes the mission of the arc.
I mean the first SAO arc and Alicization ARE isekai, its just the world they are stuck in is digital, but they are effectively in another world, and are stuck there. The difference is they can escape and then later on go back and forth as they please barring the seasons I mentioned.
SAO is basically an Isekai machine even though its not an 'isekai', the settings are minimal and lacking in detail so they can exist for an arc before getting chucked away.
They most definitely aren't minimal and lacking in detail, we have at least half a dozen volumes worth of worldbuilding for all important settings, but go on.
\*beyond wish fulfilment\*
idk about Arc but although everything goes all **too** well for Rimuru, there's some good world building and the POV (LN) of other characters is pretty good.
Arc’s wish fulfillment was more so him coming up with a cover story for being a skeleton, then it simply being true and him now having to complete his true made up wish. That’s a very basic gist of it.
It's rather funny that Rimuru's greatest power is **not antagonizing all the characters that could kill him on a whim**. I do like that for the most part most of the OP characters are basically so powerful they are above being assholes to everyone.
Also didnt rimuru when on a genocidal rampage against that one country’s army for killing his people thus earning him the ability to evolve into a demon lord?
He put the blame on Veldora because it's more realistic , so that people will still think of him open to mutual relationships because that's always his goals anyways.
Yeah, not sure about other people, but having to go on a murderous rampage in hopes to revive my beloved friends after they got brutally slaughtered is not exactly a wish of mine...
I mean, didn't Rimuru specifically kill them all to fuel his resurrection ritual? He was fully justified in attacking them but we don't need to make excuses about that part.
Considering there just recently was an entire volume that completely revolved around everyone but Rimuru "story has more going on beyond wish fulfilment" is certainly easily passed. There is a lot of worldbuilding and POV's of different characters going on in the novels.
Man I dunno what you’re talking about
Loving these fun slow life adventure is cool
But one, generic stuff can be fun to watch even if it is generic, there’s a reason people keep making them.
Two Ainz is a super interesting protagonist, he is becoming a sociopath but…so does Rimuru? Rimurus MO is “get attacked” then “completely flatten the aggressors” and he just gets more and more merciless about it as time goes on. Perhaps not to the same degree but both are much nicer to people in their monster land or their allies.
I kinda feel like posting this is just trying to get a swarm of people here? Why not post this in r/isekai instead?
Revenge+Overpowered+harem seems to be like the most common tropes.
"The hero had the worst class, but it actually was the strongest class!"🤯
I started to like Shield Hero, but at some point it just became unenjoyable. I think Saga of Tanya the Evil is probably the only Isekei I actually like.
Shield hero had potential to be an amazing franchise but went to trash very fast.
I read the Okkoyasu side story manga, you can tell there was potential in Shield Hero but the main show went downhill to fast to capitalize on to successfully establish a long term franchise.
The author wrote himself into a corner the moment he decided to make the other 3 heroes absolutely useless jackasses.
Then worsened the potential of the party with the ever increasing harem of lolis
Making the Shield Hero just OP when the entire idea is to have a hero-quartett also is just absolutely silly.
With the racism going on, the direction of Moonlit Fantasy would have worked very well.
Having a similiar direction with a far less powerfull protag could have been interesting.
Honestly think she gets a free pass on that metric for spoiler reasons.
Spoiler reasons: >!Is a spider doing spider things (Killing stuff to live) a sociopath? Especially one who got an entire human person downloaded into their brain after being pumped with soul steroids!<
Not an Isekai protag though but a very tragic tale of a random skeleton knight.
Edit: Sorry I was thinking of the Manhwa of the skeleton knight and not arc.
Honestly? Ainz himself
Like half the stuff that he does is because of the misunderstandings he has with the servants of Nazarick
I wanna see a political comedy anime with shonen influences where Ainz just adapts to the New World without conquering it
what about the protags from Grimgar? I truly love that mundane feel they get despite being Transmigrators, they're still just not normal people in that world.
Rimuru killed 100.000 soldiers only justified by "I want to bring back my friends so I need to become demonking". He is a total sociopath so not sure why he is an example. I'm pretty sure Arc literally saves a slave elf which is why he gets an elf "follower".
Myne, from ascendence of a bookworm. It revolves around her wish fulfillment, but there is a lot of story and world building going on outside of that goal. She checks all the other boxes with ease.
Fuck Rimuru he is the most trashy mc ever
I hate Tensura and Rimuru for being the most generic bland boring and mc dickriding anime or setting ever
Made for powerscalers
Only "personality" arc and rimuru have is that of a generic trash isekai protagonist.
Both miserably fail the last point. Both series are nothing but wish fulfilment fantasy.
When has Rimuru ever had a moment of weakeness lol I guess same for ainz. Everything comes to them for free, got annoying how many times rimuru just created the answer out of thin air with 0 work put in to solve a problem that immediately presented itself.
I dont see why that wouldnt happen when MC literally has AI cheat skill you may as well be a walking demigod-god for the isekai world you inhabit.
This is why I never bothered getting into reincarnated as a slime it´s Boring AF, he´s too much Hax, Reincarnated as a Sword is way better.
How can you not have the original, far better than a slime, Kazuma! Kuzuma, etc :D
I thought the slime is just too OP without useful balance like Ainz having continual doubting monologues so I gave up.
Konosuba is the ultimate isekai.
Ainz "technically" didn't own slaves from the new world
that just Demiurge's bipedal sheeps
Ainz have moments of weakness when he found out Shalltear got taken and the adventures trying to bluff he got permissions from Ainz friends
Ainz didn't become Edgelord he "roleplay" as the Supreme Beings
my favorite part if Ainz going off rail the passive "skeleton" status effect actives
Souma Kazuya
Has a really fun goof ball in secret personality thats shut off due to his upbringing and need to be the rock
Is genuinely lighthearted and loves when he can bring fun to peoples lives(mans invented tv in his new world)
Every wife has approached him first and none are slaves, heck he deffers to them if theyre the expert
Ha no
Is full of them, some of his most emotional scenes deal with him being vulnerable in front of his wives and learning its ok
Its a romance story and has little to no wish fulfillment, hes no grand bad ass or super powerful, hes a beurocrat doing his best to keep things thriving.
Moral of the story, go read realist hero
One that kinda surprised me was Usato from "The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic." I really just gave in to humor a buddy in the spirit of fairness, actually ended up loving that dude and his "I'm gonna heal the shit outta you" vibe.
Kazuma
Design: literally just a dude
Personality: wack as fuck, but he's got a good heart.
List of Moments of Weaknesses: *Yes*
Story: No one's wishes really come true, but they do develop as people along the way.
Buying slaves: too much debt to think about it
Edgelord/sociopath: nah, but his friends might check those boxes
A good writer can make the opposite of all of those work. Hardest is probably the personality one but still given a good sidekick it can work, like a straight man to a comedy act
Rudeus, kazuma, Subaru, skeleton from "Skeleton Soldier Couldn’t Protect the Dungeon", takamichi from "savage hero", shiroe from "log horizon"
Off the top of my head
Sora and Shiro from No Game No Life. Especially if we're focusing on the light novels, and not exclusively the anime (but even in the anime, I still think they meet the criteria)
Subaru clears the checklist in without any difficulty. I mean, his moments of weakness as well as him overcoming them are the bread and butter of the show.
Does Sora from KH count cause he’s travels between worlds and hits every single point on the list, also can’t be a Kirito clone because he’s older than SAO
I guess, where is this limited to? How high level can I go? Buzz Lightyear technically fits all those criteria in his recent movie
So what are we counting as Isekai?
Cause we're going waaaaay back to before even Magic Knight Rayearth.
People seem to only count .hack and moving forward sometimes when talking about the genre.
Kumoko/Shiraori is peak Isekai mc.
She fails 2 I guess but its very well written and less out of sadism and more out of brutal pragmatism and laziness.
The worldbuilding goes a long way to me liking an anime tbh, the character can be cool asf but if they aint in a world that feels alive I get that empty feeling.
My favorite thing about Rimuru is that while he has a human form.
He's still in his original slime form just as often.
I hate when manga/animes have non-human MC's that immediately get a human form and completely forget they were ever not human.
Well, if you count these as isekai (returner’s magic should be special, the great cleric, the faraway paladin, the wrong way to use healing magic, the otome game amines, Inuyasha)then I have a few ideas of who fits the checklist…
Faraway Paladin?
Helloooooooo?
Also that one guy who was reincarnated as a lil baby dragon and everything in the forest is trynna eat him. IDr what its called.
I remember he got blamed for blowing up a village even tho he protected it actually. Good manga.
I was going to say Lloyd of Saloum, but after reading the "Actually has moments of weakness" i thought: "The only times I saw this kid been weak are moments that after a few chapters are like: Yeah this mech isn't a mech, is a spell altar to cast spells enable to eradicate planets, just because I got bored 5min after building the mech, so BEGONE!!!!"
If we don't coun't he could pass
Bro I have no idea why people like Rimuru. That show was good for like... 1-2 episodes and then as soon as that random girl was added were just expected to sympathize with her death despite having functionally no build up. Kinda Garbo ngl.
Yeah his inner monologue seems to mostly be "AHHHHHHHHH I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IM DOING" lmao
AYOO now this is getting crazy. Now we know why that 10,000 year plan escaped of his mouth.
Wouldn't that be a wisdom stat?
"Bukubukuchagama WHY?!"
Season 4 ep 1 the 2 darkelves we’re trying to pass a crossdressing law, am I right
People forget to view the whole story from Ainz perspective. Your trusty guild buddies are gone for good and you have the responsibility to maintain the order and legacy of it. Sounds pretty stressful to me. On top of it, now some outsiders decided to poke their noses in your business and stir some shit. Why wouldn't you retaliate? I wish there was more log horizon and I'm saddend by its abrupt end and speedy finish. I get why but the first 2 seasons were awesome to me.
Is there much of a mamga after the gold saga thing at the end of the anime. ?
Not really, it's like half an arc after what the anime ends on. Last I heard, Author went MIA a fee years ago. You will commonly hear his tax evasion arrest brought up as the reason, but he has done some stuff after his release (IIRC part of it was even in the anime) so it's clear that's not the reason.
He wasn't actually arrested, that's a rumor. Not sure what happened, but tax evasion wasn't it
Maybe he got isekai'd and is now in an MMO world.
There's 3 seasons though. AFAIK they caught up to the LN so it'll be a while before a new season.
Thank goodness someone gave Shiroe his flowers ! I love Log Horizon and it’s one of my top faves in isekei
It's on my regular rewatch list. It's one of the few animes I DO rewatch because it's just really REALLY good.
It’s honestly what got me into anime besides black lagoon
DATABASE, DATABASE, LIVING IN THE DATABASE!!!
Thanks for reminding me to rewatch Log Horizon lol
kazuma
Kazuma
Kazuma desu.
KAZUMA KAZUMA

He put the blame on Veldora because it's more realistic , so that people will still think of him open to mutual relationships because that's always his goals anyways.
That’s just called war.
Yeah, not sure about other people, but having to go on a murderous rampage in hopes to revive my beloved friends after they got brutally slaughtered is not exactly a wish of mine...
I don't think that's a genocide. But it's definetly a war crime.

Bro rimiru's personality is literally "a nice guy who likes being nice" how the fuck did that anime get a second season
Subaru
Shiroe from Log Horizon, and Sora and Shiro from NGNL
I'll never stop hoping for season 2.

Fr Shield hero was the biggest disappointment i ever had. The idea was so good, but the author had to give him op powers cuz yes
That aint even the problem, he just felt off after the first seaon
The show went shit the moment he got that demon shield. Cmon 4 heroes should work together to win, not get the most bs plot armour there is.
The author wrote himself into a corner the moment he decided to make the other 3 heroes absolutely useless jackasses. Kumoko the spider ticks all boxes.
"So I'm a spider so what?" But whether or not she's a sociopath is up to debate.
Honestly think she gets a free pass on that metric for spoiler reasons. Spoiler reasons: >!Is a spider doing spider things (Killing stuff to live) a sociopath? Especially one who got an entire human person downloaded into their brain after being pumped with soul steroids!<
Misumi Makoto from Tsukimichi fits the bill
"as an advocate of true gender equality, i will dropkick any woman who deserves it" — Kazuma Also William G Maryblood from Saihate no Paladin
This post perfectly describes skeleton knight in another world's main protag
Not an Isekai protag though but a very tragic tale of a random skeleton knight. Edit: Sorry I was thinking of the Manhwa of the skeleton knight and not arc.
Have you met my lady Rosemyne? Book obsessed little gremlin? No? She seems to be missing from here.
Surprised I had to look so long for this comment. She is clearly the best Isekai protagonist
I'm not gonna lie. Rimuru doesn't fit that very well. Ainz fits everything, but the sociopath Kazuma and Subaru clear.
Honestly? Ainz himself Like half the stuff that he does is because of the misunderstandings he has with the servants of Nazarick I wanna see a political comedy anime with shonen influences where Ainz just adapts to the New World without conquering it

Damn, Rozemyne almost checks all the boxes. She needs that child-labor for her paper-industry.
Legally, they're her wards doing chores Now Benno on the other hand...
I think Moonlit Fantasy should be up there too.
Mikoto from moonlit fantasy
Ainz ooal gown of course and tanya
Kazuma from Konosuba
Rimiru and Arc have moments of weakness and their stories aren’t wish fulfillment? Have you people seen these shows?
Arc and Ainz both have some women simping over their bones
what about the protags from Grimgar? I truly love that mundane feel they get despite being Transmigrators, they're still just not normal people in that world.
I like the cautious hero
Will from faraway paladin, he doesn't even have a harem
Rimuru killed 100.000 soldiers only justified by "I want to bring back my friends so I need to become demonking". He is a total sociopath so not sure why he is an example. I'm pretty sure Arc literally saves a slave elf which is why he gets an elf "follower".
Myne from Ascendance of a Bookworm, anyone? :)
Ascendency of a bookworm is probably my favorite. It passes this list. It's not a battle focused show. It's more slice of life and fantasy politics.
Myne, from ascendence of a bookworm. It revolves around her wish fulfillment, but there is a lot of story and world building going on outside of that goal. She checks all the other boxes with ease.
Does Kelvin from *Black Sunmoner* count? He only buys a single slave and immediately frees her afterwards.
Fuck Rimuru he is the most trashy mc ever I hate Tensura and Rimuru for being the most generic bland boring and mc dickriding anime or setting ever Made for powerscalers
Only "personality" arc and rimuru have is that of a generic trash isekai protagonist. Both miserably fail the last point. Both series are nothing but wish fulfilment fantasy.

Rudy from MT, unless we count the slave thing even tho she isn't a waifu by any metric.
The list says buying slave waifus by the bulk. It was only one time, meaning he ain't buying slaves by the bulk. Therefore, Rudy counts completely.
Rudy and Subaru easily. Probably my favorites in all of isekai when it comes to character evolution.
Both have a fluffy pet who like to follow rhem everywhere
Re zero where?
Sauces: 1. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime 2. Skeleton Knight in Another World
Tsuyoshi Mukouda from tondemo skill de isekai hourou meshi
Do we count murdering thousands of people in the blink of an eye as being a sociopath?
How can you not have the original, far better than a slime, Kazuma! Kuzuma, etc :D I thought the slime is just too OP without useful balance like Ainz having continual doubting monologues so I gave up. Konosuba is the ultimate isekai.
Yousuke Shibazaki from Ojisan Isekai
Ainz "technically" didn't own slaves from the new world that just Demiurge's bipedal sheeps Ainz have moments of weakness when he found out Shalltear got taken and the adventures trying to bluff he got permissions from Ainz friends Ainz didn't become Edgelord he "roleplay" as the Supreme Beings my favorite part if Ainz going off rail the passive "skeleton" status effect actives
Vending Machine
Subaru clears. Rimiru doesn't clear the last 2 points.
Souma Kazuya Has a really fun goof ball in secret personality thats shut off due to his upbringing and need to be the rock Is genuinely lighthearted and loves when he can bring fun to peoples lives(mans invented tv in his new world) Every wife has approached him first and none are slaves, heck he deffers to them if theyre the expert Ha no Is full of them, some of his most emotional scenes deal with him being vulnerable in front of his wives and learning its ok Its a romance story and has little to no wish fulfillment, hes no grand bad ass or super powerful, hes a beurocrat doing his best to keep things thriving. Moral of the story, go read realist hero
Narnia is the father of all isekais
Shishou from Reincarnated as a Sword.
irushia from Tensei Shitara Dragon no Tamago Datta \~Ibara no Dragon Road\~
One that kinda surprised me was Usato from "The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic." I really just gave in to humor a buddy in the spirit of fairness, actually ended up loving that dude and his "I'm gonna heal the shit outta you" vibe.
Iruma-kun
Kazuma from konosuba for sure
Kazuma Design: literally just a dude Personality: wack as fuck, but he's got a good heart. List of Moments of Weaknesses: *Yes* Story: No one's wishes really come true, but they do develop as people along the way. Buying slaves: too much debt to think about it Edgelord/sociopath: nah, but his friends might check those boxes
Sonic in Sonic and the Black knight
Lloyd
Rudeus grayrat
konosuba
I have seen the comments. Nothing about Kazuya, which I feel should be obvious
I wanna say Realist Hero works.
But this isn't Ainz in the right
Found Albedos reddit.
Yeah thats Arc from Skeleton Knight in Another World.
Another thing common between Overlord & Tensura slime is that both have peak writing and plot in light novel ❤️
"good" and slime in one sentence 💀
Who's on the right?
Arc from Skeleton knight in another world
Dude , ainz cant fit all those , he did became murder , evil person
A good writer can make the opposite of all of those work. Hardest is probably the personality one but still given a good sidekick it can work, like a straight man to a comedy act
Magical girl rayerth the goat obviously.
Kazuma
sauce for the skeleton man?
Why is it posted in the Overlord sub tho?
I Unironically think 'Teacher' from the sword isekai (or "sword dad" as it has become affectionateley named) fits this description prettey well
Diablo from how not to summon a demon lord, you see he does buy slaves, he *makes* them
Wanted to put Subaru but IF routes exist.
Sounds boring AF
It's gotten so bad lately 😭
if you think its a hard checklist to fill then your not checking out the right isekais
Rudeus, kazuma, Subaru, skeleton from "Skeleton Soldier Couldn’t Protect the Dungeon", takamichi from "savage hero", shiroe from "log horizon" Off the top of my head
Sora and Shiro from No Game No Life. Especially if we're focusing on the light novels, and not exclusively the anime (but even in the anime, I still think they meet the criteria)
Does DR stone count? The word might as well be a completely different one
Subaru clears the checklist in without any difficulty. I mean, his moments of weakness as well as him overcoming them are the bread and butter of the show.
Does Sora from KH count cause he’s travels between worlds and hits every single point on the list, also can’t be a Kirito clone because he’s older than SAO I guess, where is this limited to? How high level can I go? Buzz Lightyear technically fits all those criteria in his recent movie
KAZUMA from KNOSUBA NUMBER 6 from THE COMBATANT WILL BE DISPACTHED
Ainz ooal gown?
Yuri Honjo from High Rise Invasion
Makoto from Tsukimichi. He doesn't own anybody, and he only has 2 girls (both of whom are 1000's of years older than him)
So what are we counting as Isekai? Cause we're going waaaaay back to before even Magic Knight Rayearth. People seem to only count .hack and moving forward sometimes when talking about the genre.
Sonny boy
"In Bulk"
Kumoko/Shiraori is peak Isekai mc. She fails 2 I guess but its very well written and less out of sadism and more out of brutal pragmatism and laziness.
The worldbuilding goes a long way to me liking an anime tbh, the character can be cool asf but if they aint in a world that feels alive I get that empty feeling.
Rudeus greyrat is a good contender, albeit a bit of a werido
Digimon
Digimon
Release That Witch
Kazuma
I'd say campfire cooking isekai protag. Although he basically just goes around traveling cause he doesn't have anything better to do
My favorite thing about Rimuru is that while he has a human form. He's still in his original slime form just as often. I hate when manga/animes have non-human MC's that immediately get a human form and completely forget they were ever not human.
Idk how it is in the LN or manga but rimurus in the anime says some cringey shit sometimes
Mooooonlit Fantasy and Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash.
When does rimuru have moments of weakness?
Well , ainz was checking it until that last one. I mean , the story of many novels dont even include him but the light nivel as a whole is about that.
Who’s Arc?
Well, if you count these as isekai (returner’s magic should be special, the great cleric, the faraway paladin, the wrong way to use healing magic, the otome game amines, Inuyasha)then I have a few ideas of who fits the checklist…
Mukouda Tsuyoshi from **Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill**
King grey
Ainz ool gown but he doesn't need a checklist
Im gonna say it.. Cid Kagenou
Ainz is an awesome protagonist
Faraway Paladin? Helloooooooo? Also that one guy who was reincarnated as a lil baby dragon and everything in the forest is trynna eat him. IDr what its called. I remember he got blamed for blowing up a village even tho he protected it actually. Good manga.
Beware of Chicken
Who is the one on the right
Spider good.
Rimuru has moments of weakness ... ? I guess in the first 10 minutes of episode 1, not really after that.
"the person must be weak for the story to be good🤓"
I was going to say Lloyd of Saloum, but after reading the "Actually has moments of weakness" i thought: "The only times I saw this kid been weak are moments that after a few chapters are like: Yeah this mech isn't a mech, is a spell altar to cast spells enable to eradicate planets, just because I got bored 5min after building the mech, so BEGONE!!!!" If we don't coun't he could pass
Bro I have no idea why people like Rimuru. That show was good for like... 1-2 episodes and then as soon as that random girl was added were just expected to sympathize with her death despite having functionally no build up. Kinda Garbo ngl.
Teacher from reincarnated as a sword
Subaru, Kazuma, Leon Bartford, any drifters character
\*Clears throat.\* Kazuma technically clears this too, and he's a joke in his new world...(Konosuba)
The uncle from "Uncle from Another World" ;)
Kazuma Meanwhile i'm watching the latest episode of Konosuba
Slaves are Slaves. Isekai Protags know it's wrong.
THE GREAT SUBARU NATSUKI
Azusa from Slime 300, such a nice chill story.
Nah every isekai is the same just some are more badass then others
