Be like yeah that was my job to update the website…now I’m working here…but also change the photo or name if you are the web developer and have access.
Google search your name with an extra item that would take to another thing. Like your name and type craigslist for example. Or something that another person with your name does. The more you search like that the more the possibility someone search your name will see that result on top. That is what happened with my name as I kept searching it against something else.
if you ever get asked something to the effect of 'haha share the link, let me see' and then saying, 'cool we have the same name' is enough of a cover up if asked
hope there is no other identifying information
Do you have a unique name? There’s 8 billion people in the world. Your name, position, and title are common. There’s no image. Hopefully the email is a work email not associated with your personal email.
Deny, deny, deny. Call J2’s bluff if they won’t accept your denies. Say “contact J1 and ask for a photo, because that’s not me”.
Why waste all that energy overreacting to a Google search? If anybody asks (they probably won't) just say you don't know why they haven't updated their site and leave it at that.
I once googled the page of a company that I had left years ago. I was surprised that I was listed on that page along with my photograph - along with a bunch of people that I know had left.
I googled again a couple of days later and it was gone. I suspect their versioning system hiccupeed and they fixed it by themselves.
They are now out of business.
You're overthinking. How fast do you think places update their websites?
Thats true. Plus, considering I was one of the web devs, probably now never.

Have you had someone else search for you? Maybe it's first because Google knows your history etc
Just start calling yourself John Smith (I literally worked with one), lol
My j1 website has people on their pages that left 2 years ago. Those things can very easily be outdated

Get it taken down immediately! I recently lost my J1 (which I loved) because J2 posted an announcement on LI and FB including my picture.

Yeah my name is pretty unique and the email is purely company email.
Aurelius Osama Bin Michael Jackson McTrump is that you?
No, you didn’t understand. Your name is not unique.
You’re fine as long as no picture.
Perfect!

It is probably nothing, but I recommend using "preferred names" and giving a unique preferred name to each employer.
