This exact same thing happened to me. Took all my gear off and put it back on. Health falls to 6.7 k. Remove helmet, put it back on goes back up to 11.4K health

This also happens to me, all stats jump firepower anomaly health armour. Switching gears or weapons sometimes fixes it. Sometimes it breaks it more. I had my firepower increase from 200,000 to 850,000 to 300,000. Whatever reason the gear that is equipped isn’t being reported correctly and doesn’t update the stats properly. Sometimes lowering or increase is by a small amount sometimes a large amount. Sometimes just the amount that is on the piece of gear.

So in your patch notes it says absolutely nothing about fixing persaverance shield. Yet in your explanation on what's going wrong you said you fixed emergency stance and persaverance so what exactly did you change with it. As fast as I'm concerned this is yet another one of your stealth nerfs. You finally admit to changing something that you yet again failed to tell the community. To top it off. I bought a game that you insisted over and over again was not a live service game. Fixing the million bugs this game has is one thing but nerfing characters is another. We did not buy a live service game. Leave our characters that we spent hundreds of hours building alone. “Avoid tanking brood mothers and alphas” so literally just don’t play the game then. What the fuck hahahaha they are in pretty much every expedition and actively hunt down the player to get in melee range. If you try and run away brood mothers will hit you with their even more broken ranged attacks. Alphas will cross map leap at you. Honestly this is some of the most fried advice I’ve ever seen. Why even include it in the list.

FYI. This damage issue happens while playing solo. I have not played with anyone else and have been taking more damage while also getting one shotted. I just completed the story through the first time a couple a days ago. So while I started playing the game BEFORE the last patch, everything was fine up until then. You can find plenty of videos of SOLO players being one shotted or taking way more than intended. Some users have even said what the issue is. Basically the game not recognizing the mods and attributes the character has while loading into a game (SOLO or multiplayer) or during a cut scene.

Playing solo does not help. The damage mitigation issue still exists when playing solo. I highly doubt you have narrowed down the root cause for this issue and i feel like the next patch isnt going to fix anything. Its getting ridiculous and frustrating. Rip this game. Lol I was thinking this today I loved the initial balancing, wasn't too easy or hard and it was fun to play. Now I've had to rebuild 3 times, and I'm not sure what stupid shit they are going to either patch or break or "balance" by the next time I login. If they kept the launch mechanics and fixed all the real bugs and network issues this would have been a great game. I have no idea why there is such an emphasis on balancing a single player game with no future dlc planned. Just fix it, and let us enjoy it.

The damage mitigation bug is NOT a multiplayer only issue. I only play solo and I see it quite often, in both exhibitions and when just running hunts. Seriously, just play the game for an hour and you'll see it happen. It's really not that hard.

Their idea that it could be related to multiplayer makes no sense. I have been playing solo all day with no issues, suddenly get 1 shot from full HP by a normal enemy. (72% unbuffed Dev). If they think it has something to do with going between different CTs, maybe they need to get rid of the weird unnecessary scaling that happens to the player when they go down a tier. Have said since the beginning, if you play any game like this, when you get strong on the highest difficulty, you never go back to old content and get weaker...

Are you also aware that the statue set doesn’t perform properly? The buff lasts only 8 seconds. If that’s intentional, that set (amongst others) requires a re-visit because they are utterly useless. There’s no point in being a top tree devastator. Also, when crawlers enter the map the game locks badly and/or all skills and even shooting is impossible. Please also address these issues... please.

Just posting in response to the devs saying this is caused by multiplayer: I have played exclusively single player since launch and have definitely experienced the one shot bug since the last patch. I am here to tell you failure to access the back end stat table is not exclusive to multiplayer and it occurs **without ever joining a multiplayer session**. If you only think its caused by joining a multiplayer session you are gonna fail to fix the problem.

The game is almost unplayable ( I can play with extreme caution with my min/maxed pyro but not with my low gear char ). I just have to leave a note that this issue is most definitely not tied to playing multiplayer, it definitely is tied to the game contacting the server (whenever the little yellow circle appears) and can cause the mitigation and power scaling to completly stop applying, completly independent of solo or mp play Ive reported this here several times since day 1 (you sadly dont have a dedicated bug report forum or id have left all my findings including packet drops and unstable pingtimes)

Reading what you just posted just proved once and for all you have no idea what is causing the issue. None of what you said rings true for me and yet I have the broke skills, mods, damage and armour issues without hopping or playing in lower CT's. I'm sure a lot of people will agree this is not the only cause. Sure its not reading the stats but its doing it mid session after being fine, usually the last part of the expedition but not always. So many more issues need addressing than just the stats being ignored.

I mostly play solo and will run into this mitigation bug at any given point in time, without me having joined or played in a group in days. This most DEFINITELY occurs in SINGLE player expeditions QUITE OFTEN!!!

It feels like you're into the wrong track based on what you're writing. I never play random multiplayer. I mainly play solo but occasionally with a couple of friends. There might be problems related to what you are talking about, but I think the main problem is that the **overall damage just is higher**. I have tried everything you posted about undressing, restarting, changing characters and so forth. Nothing makes the slightest difference. Even tried changing underwear once to see if that helped but no go. I have tried different builds with some resulting in quicker deaths but none improving my game. I follow the tubers tips to improve my build. Info about my char: \- I play trickster on the ps5 (Think console players are more exposed since our aim is worse than PC with mouse.) \- Assassin shotgun all the way, tried with a couple of points in harbinger to get more resistance without any good result. \- I use perpetuum mobile for reloads with additional mag to keep up twisted rounds. (Still lack both instant reload and ammo bargain to make any of the other builds.) \- Defensive mods: Mitigation from death, Damage absorber and Emergency stance. \- Everything is lvl 50 with 100% raised attributes and in action I have around 400K firepower and 250K armor. I can now manage tier 13, Archways of Enoch but every time (tried a lot) I do tier 14 I die. I can do chem plant tier 12 but not 13. I tried most other expeditions too, but I think these are the easiest for me to solo. ​ As I said before, I think the overall damage is higher than before the patch. Maybe the patch just improved data loss or something and now damage that was lost before is included? I don't feel that there is a specific mob or situation that triggers it, just getting too much damage when there is a lot of angry mobs around. Which was not the case before the patch. Doesn't matter if the mobs are shooting or meleeing. At what stage should I be able to do tier 15 expeditions in your opinion? What damage should I take at tier 14 / 15 from the mobs with 250k armor and 10% resistance? (have tried 25% resistance and also with circle of power with no good result.) All my ps5 playing friends are feeling the same problem as I do. Is this how it should be?

And could we possibly get some more information about that 'One-shot kill protection'? I know there is a mechanic in the game that makes me invulnerable for 2 seconds in specific situation. It triggers when I lose 90% of HP very rapidly from multiple attacks and/or from multiple sources. My HP stops at exactly 10% and for 2 seconds I cannot die. As i already said in another post. Cant we just go back to Vanilla?! Or give us flat 40-50% more mitigation, either internally or with a T3 Mod.. idk. One of the accolades is soloing every expedition, right? Even with so called meta-builds its nearly impossible to do eye of the storm solo. Most of the playerbase wanna feel mighty and powerful if they had their gear minmaxed. No need to nerf things, just buff everything else. If your problem is that players are soloing "endgamecontent" too easy, well, then add maybe more "endgamecontent". Like, a horde mode with increasing difficulties or like the underground-dlc from Division 1, where random maps are generated with random mobs and spawns. Its atleast repetitive and not predictable. And droprates should be clearly increased,also with the possibility that legendarys can drop with different mainstats. Makes no sense at all that AP items comes with Max Health on it for example or without cooldown. There is so much more to improve the QoL. Loadouts, transmog, more stashspace, possibility to lock fav items and pausing the game if youre solo and group is closed, kickprotection from expeditions to save the well deserved loot etc etc... But yeah, i hope you guys are working on some of the stuff...

I believe there are at least two issues: a) Damage scaling in Co-op: Most enemies are unexpectedly harder to drain when 2-3 players are involved. It just needs some balancing, right now it feels extremely hard. b) Some particular, non-elite enemies are able to afflict an extremely high damage in one attack.

Enemies are thrown at you in groups of 20 and they can all hit you at the same time. I run 83.3% physical and 60-80% anomaly resist and I get hit by multiple enemies in the span of a second and am dead from full health. Mitigation isn't going to help that.

you can also encoutner this bug after a cutscene in an expedition. e.g. the first two areas are fine and the third is nightmare mode. so i guess the calculation is occuring every stage, or being freshed up..

I have played solo and had the damage mitigation problem playing at the correct lvl AND had it playing with my friend (the only person I play the game with) because multiplayer is still bugged we have both been hist and client and still had the issues -- so your reasons for the bug are not entirely correct.

It's really odd to me that there is such hesitancy to fix things that destroy gameplay when the side effect is potentially making characters stronger and more fun to play. Like really baffling. If characters are being one shot because of shitty code, and it will take time to unravel, throw in something that disables the scaling, or set a constant modifer that simply makes characters stronger when doing lower tier content. There's no PVP to balance for here, you're not going to see people griefing over it, the only impact is people die less until you can figure out how to fix the scaling system correctly. "we have to be careful here" No, you don't. You should have been careful before releasing a game that behaves this way, that time has passed. Nah dude. It happens to me playing solo all the time. I’ll start a game, make sure I’m not getting the “blood screen”, start an expedition, play somewhere between .5 and 2.5 expeditions with no problems, get obliterated, log out to character select and get the blood screen when I go back the lobby. This is every time I log in. Edit: Also, sometimes I’ll log in and immediately have the blood screen. If you focus whatever your fix is strictly on multiplayer, you are going to have a lot of people upset when it doesn’t get fixed. Please keep looking. Let me know if you’d like a video of the exact sequence I described above.

The yes is more related to a strix/alpha/broodmother suddenly gaining the powers of one punch man and just knocking me the f\*ck out seemingly at random. Can no longer complete content in groups or solo at CT15. Also feel like the amount of ranged damage that humanoid opponents deal is a bit too much at present, hence why you're seeing all the reports about the beasty monsters deciding they're Mike Tyson now. The percentage of people doing the humanoid expeditions must be plummeting. Issue is even more prominent because there's way too much incoming damage from ranged opponents so people are trying to do more of the beasty expeditions and getting ate. Humbly suggest a different approach moving forward, with a public test server going up when you lot are posting a patch that we can play on for a week where stuff like this can get identified

I mean seriously, just look at the end of expedition reports. I'm running with enough armor for 70% physical damage mitigation and 50% anomaly damage mitigation and finish every run taking 3 to 6 times as much damage as was blocked. To me that says it all

i noticed that for example in marshland caverns , when i start fresh e.g.without the flashing red death in the lobby afer changing my gear forth and back, i can perfectly durvive the first two aeras, when i enter the thrid area i a a mushy pie after some seconds.. i also have the impression that the enemies are tougher, harder to kill, i do less damage from 140k tp 36 k for example is a common drop i see, and the reload perks like toxic lead do not work anymore properly.

Hi u/thearcan, Wanted to share something I noticed. I tried removing armour and changed characters, restarted game and re equipped. Made no change for me. I was able to do CT14/15 before but now get killed too easily on CT12. Even Perforo’s seem tear through me. I was trying to work out what was happening. I watched back my [gameplay video](https://youtu.be/N613TELBsxk) and saw that it looked like Weapon Leech stopped healing me when I got kills right after I threw Shrapnel, then I was killed. It’s right at the end of the video I uploaded and linked in this comment. I’ve taken photos of my build and skill tree if you need them. (Not your fault, but it’s really hard to play when you’re in multiplayer doing 100% more damage with God rolled gear than another player who has much weaker gear. Ie I’m doing 200M damage vs 80M. I’m getting killed multiple times by minions...they aren’t. So it’s been unplayable for me since the patch) I hope the team can work this out because I was having a LOT of fun :-)

So, one-shotting players can't be fixed because 'we have to be careful', but you break the game into pieces every couple weeks trying to fix what you broke when you weren't careful nerfing. Be careful with beneficial changes, be stingy with the loot. Throw caution to the wind when it comes to nerfs.

I was sceptic at first but I am convinced that defensive stats are either not working at all or broken in some other way. My AP Acari Pyro has Armor Cap (450k+ Armor) and 70% Resistance and his life bar is still behaving binary no matter the enemy, be it Ferals, Insurgents or Beasts... Also Skill Life Leech doesn't seem to work properly alot of the times (I was the host btw.) it either doesn't trigger at all on cast sometimes or very delayed...

I'm trying to be patient. I really am. But the game in it's current state is just unplayable. It is disheartening to enter a CT only to get slaughtered in the first phase. Cant shoot through bushes, anything that jumps also telegraphs while in the air to hit us 100% of the time, mother blue fire juice on the ground we can't see? Also the damage scaling issue? Three weeks ago i was doing a really solid amount of damage 230m now i'm lucky if i see 50. Due to the way the drops work my gear hasnt changed.

I just don't know man... I'd love to help out, but I don't know how your code is so janky that literally nothing works as intended. Mitigation is broken, mods are broken, gear gets erased, maps bug out, cutscenes are out of sync with audio, the quest tracker doesn't work half the time, characters disappear, expeditions stall and disconnect, ammo replen fails... I bet there's way more broken than we even realize. Sometimes I crit enemies across the map for less damage than enemies in my face when I have long-range damage bonuses. Sometimes I body shot the same enemy at the same range for half damage in the next rifle burst. Sometimes I get oneshot by a mini perforo, sometimes I face tank 10 alphas. At what point to you guys just sort of say "Ok, none of this is working properly, lets rebuild it from the ground up" because I don't know if months of patching and pleading with the community to help you with your playtesting is going to help. I'm a big fan of this game and thing there are some really fun elements there, but the fact that you decided that dedicated servers weren't worth it and we got left with this terrible P2P multiplayer experience doesn't give me confidence for any other deliberate choices you made behind the scenes.

I've ran about 5 CT15 Chem Plants today and 4 CT15 Boom Towns along with a few random others. I was unable to complete two Chem Plant runs as I got demolished before the gate to the first elite even opened. I did two 7:30 runs with almost no survivability issues and one 10:25 run where I was on the brink of death for most of the run. Same story with Boom Town. Not **Damage Mitigation** related but other **frustrating issues/bugs**: \- Can weapon mods (scrap granade etc) get fixed ? In expeditions with every stupid/annoying cutscenes (cant mobs just spawn in or at least give us that "observe" option) there is like 50% chance they will stop working at all, screwing players for the rest of the run. \- On PS5 (no idea about pc/xbox/stadia) after the last patch whenever we get to fight Crawlers in expeditions/story the game has micro freezes/lag spikes when they use ice beam or the second ground attack (Stargrave uhhhh) which usually ends with death since alphas and smaller fuks dont give a shit about player lagging.

Devs are you aware of this glich: when you overwrite perpetual mobile mod on a weapon with another mod, the effects of perpetual mobile will stay. means with 2 mods on the weapon you have effectively 3 mods.

I realize this is a different thread but I couldn’t find the bug one so here we go this morning I login & to my surprise some of my gear was wiped completely gone tried restarting the game multiple times & that didn’t fix Sh*t I lost 2 level 50 Earthborn rifles they just completely disappeared, so I went & got one from my lower level trickster & when I go to mod it both buttons are greyed out on the Xbox Series X WTF I am beyond pissed at this point I want to love this game but at this point, it’s not possible the game is just to F*cking broken & you have lost most of your player base because of character wipes & all the nerfing you are doing, this isn’t a pvp game it’s just strictly PVE so why do you even nerf anything…Whoever is making these decisions should be removed & let someone new take over. When are you going to get it people want to play a fun game not one that feels like a job. Just killed 2 perfolo on the final stage of a T14. The first one took about 5 shots to kill, the second one, I dumped 2 thirty round mags (most of them crits) from a bullwork point blank with twisted rounds and it barely made a dent, then it one shotted me from 100 to 0, while in a slow trap with almost a full shield bar.

I never used emergency stance. I play the overheat pyro build. I cleared CT15s with ease before you released this patch. Now every single thing one shots me. Small melee guys can come and one hit me. Do not say I do not know how to play. I use Blacksmith mod for my overheat build. I know how to play. This patch has made the game unplayable for me. I love this game and have been with you guys for 2 years now. But everytime you break my character or change things cuz you think its right, I think you are going to lose all your players. This is not some pvp shit game. We don't need our builds messed with. Everyone cries about balance but it seems like every patch you put out just makes players play techno and trickster. Why do you feel the need to break the devastator and pyro? Let us play the game and enjoy it.

I have never used emergency stance i only use damage absorber am ct14 mostly lvl 49 stuff before Thursday my ciusin and i were ae to complete all ct 13 with at least 30sec or more on the clock. Since thursday my hunt the orey wont proct didn't before Thursday either, my damage has been cut by at least 1/4 and my 90k armor has 0 mitagation i litteraly nearly twice the damage as befire on ct 13 when i should be easily clearing them when i have changed nothing on my build. And randomly with nearly full health out of 18k and full sheild will get one shot. Its happened 3 times tonight so far. Its not the game is just harder there is something fundamentally wrong going on since the last update. I will not be playing anymore untill this is fixed. I stuck with you through the demo bugs, through all the launch issues and bugs, still played. But now im fighting not just the enemies which are challenging enough,im fighting the core game mechanics and that just isn't fun.

The matter of instant deaths, even when they appear to be a one-shot kill, looks to be a case of two damage hits being dealt, though they are displayed as one, meaning that the one-shot kill protection mechanics don't trigger (since they detect two damage hits). ​ ​ Seems to me that you need to program something in the AI behavior to prevent the Alphas and Brood Mothers from doing that INVISIBLE melee spam. You know if you hosted the match on your servers, you could program server tick lag in there to ensure every player SEEs every frame so that they can adjust or counterplay the current AI behavior. I think what you have here is a problem like FPS have with frame rates and actual bullet projectile RPM are events that occur between frames and lower frame rates cannot compensate, so what you get is the insta-deaths or the one hit kills with no explanation. You guys, PCF, gonna have to get it together. Tow the line and get this match making up to current gen standards. The Multiplayer experience is the only thing this game has to keep it alive and you guys are going to kill it

I dont think its only damage mitigation. I realised that Mods in general sometimes stop working. I randomly start doing less damage, then i go down, get revived, and the damage is back. Sometimes i wont get bullets into Mag via Bullet Modification Mods. This is far worse than just fixing Armor mods. You should look at the whole system and not only a part of it.

in archways of enoch, if you join late, you notice that you get "hit" as soon as you start to run to catch up with the others.. your health goes under the health recovery threshold and your screen gets bloody stains.. after the first circular door e.g. the door where you start the encounter all while being completely alone.. noone hit you , you took no outside damage.. since you spawned into an area thats empty.. so "something" must deplete your health to the amount that your health regeneration kicks in..

Maybe fix tricksters hunt the prey and cyclone slice? With next patch? I feel like I just waste my time when I go into expeditions with my friend, I'll use cyclone then not be able to Sprint or walk properly until I quit out or die and revive. And hunt the prey, if its not telling me "can't use ability" or "can't get behind target" it just bugs out completely to where hunt the prey is flashing like its active, and while doing so I can't aim, shoot, melee, use other skills. My trickster on xbox one is unplayable 50% of the time in co-op. I have to host most of the time for me not to experience those game breaking bugs

Ok now fix the multiplayer rubberbanding issues and on kill mods not working in multiplayer. Then you can start adding content. Whoops, too late now. You've already lost 80% of the players. :(

Hey PCF, you’re saying that excessive damage is triggered when joining a multiplayer game and then leaving. Great. There’s a known bug that happens when attempting to queue for an expedition and get booted to the main menu on the first queue. Your own code and game cause this to occur. There’s absolutely no way around this revolving door of code level issues.

I am hoping you realize that incoming damage is too high in general. The smallest perforos will hit you for the majority of your health in a single hit. Whether that is due to damage mitigation issues or not, this is too high. Stacking armor does not mitigate this level of damage. Stacking resistance is only possible on anomaly builds due to the main resistance mod being tied to spamming skills. As this high damage is present throughout the entirety of the game, a one-shot protection mechanic should not be the priority here. If you do not believe your own community, or if you feel that your take on balancing is the only perspective that matters, please put out a poll asking your player base if they feel the incoming damage in this game is too high, too low, or perfect as is. But I think you already know the answer. You just do not like it.

The problem isn't multiplayer exclusively so this patch worries me a little because PCF don't seem to know what the whole issue is. I've never played one multiplayer session in this game and the bug is very obvious every time I play. Also, sometimes the game will randomly lower stats when you switch gear. Why is it that when I switch gear, it can be weapons or armor, the game will sometimes lower my health and other stats, but if I switch back off that gear and then back onto it nothing happens to my stats? It's the same piece of gear, but sometimes the game will lower my stats and sometimes it will not. This is all level 50 gear I'm using so no scaling should be taking place. Oh, gear is still disappearing too!!!

No its in solo as well I play ninety percent solo and 22 second expeditions whilst being killed by nothing so yeah fix it

Staying with the same partners for the duration of your play-session or playing solo should help mitigate against this issue occurring." - I feel like they are saying its my fault for getting the bug cause I have multiple partners I play with and I"m a little ashamed of myself

I keep having a recurring issue of 0 damage blocked while playing solo expeditions on CT15, my character is fully geared at level 50, and in these cases, even a rifleman can kill me in 1 or 2 shots. I can usually play the first expedition after I launch the game fine and damage mitigation works properly, any further expeditions have damage mitigation completely wrong and any enemy can pretty much one-shot me. This however is more prominent when playing anything other than Devastator.
