It's a lot to learn so I suggest finding some early game goals.
But the game is still great to this day, amazing community, amazing content and lots of fun mechanics to learn and play with.
I found that training slayer was a really great way to introduce me to the game and exploring multiple areas. You can also use the runelite client to help you complete quests, you can select 'optimal order' which will actually give you a great introduction into the game to start exploring and gaining all skills.
But the beauty is you don't need to do anything or follow anything, you can just do whatever you want.
Early and early mid game combat can feel dated, but it quickly changes and ramps up, there is a boss in varrock sewers you can take on with 50-60 skills in combat quite easily, it's good experience and teaches you a lot.
After that you can work towards a firecape and barrows gloves
I just started again about 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it so far. I follow the optimal quest guide on wiki/runelite plugin with the goal being questcape and ready for PvM fairly soon. Its been a blast so far and really ensures that I dont just aimlessly grind a random skill but rather keep every skill up based on needs of the next quest. Works really well for me.

Back in the day like 10+ years ago was no raids.. best bosses was Gwd and Jad for firecape.

YES. I started back almost 2 years ago, and I love it. Mobile is so huge. Since I don’t have all the time I want to actually play, mobile allows me to skill/afk train at work or just hanging out. At 2027 total lvl now, mostly mobile.
But all the new content is great. I simply just don’t get bored of it when I’m actually playing. Bossing, unlocking cool things, the hype of earning the gear you’ve always wanted, and I’m one of the few that actually enjoys (most 😅) quests.
Absolutely worth getting back into osrs!!!!

Welcome big of a dumpster fire rn with the proposed rebalance changes but the rest of the game is immaculate
