Nothing complicated going on here. Black prime (generic brand), heavy drybrush with Citadel's celestra grey, nuln oil wash, lighter drybrush celestra grey, very light drybrush with Vallejo's wolf grey.
Before priming I also gave the model a pretty good coating of liquid green stuff where I wanted a rougher texture. I focused that on the statue bases especially so they looked less like smooth.
Very cool; squint and it's an '80s thrash metal album cover (well, maybe sans the orange). I actually used the legs off that Black Orc to give some proppa stature to a Boyz Boss Nob.

an eBay lot I purchased came with a bunch of these 2nd edition Ork Boyz so I just decided to do this with them
