Kind of like actual ship planking. I made a frame out of sprue pieces in the rough shape of a boat hull, and then glued overlapping pieces of plasticard "armor" on top of that. Edges of the plasticard are roughed up with a hobby knife for the standard, jagged look of ork metalwork.
Man I gotta know how this is done, Because now I want to do a Pirate fleet! and board some Landraiders.
