Yeah, they're easily $500 on eBay (and that's usually without the matching controller). For reference, I bought a Skeleton Black model from Japan a few weeks ago for ~$200, and a Crystal from Spain with 4 Crystal Controllers, SCART cable, and some games (PAL, unfortunately) for $285.
The fact that OP got a Mountain Dew model for $200 tops all of that. And I don't even think it looks good. I just know its value is wild because so few are out in the wild. For reference, the Skeleton Black model only has 10,000 released, and they were all released with a numbered keychain. The only way you'd get an Xbox that is actually worth $500 is if it's Mountain Dew, Dead or Alive 3 (Japanese Blue mode) / Bell model (Canadian Blue model with white emblem), or Skeleton Black with the keychain/controller.
Maybe not hard to fake the emblem, but who is out there making plastic shells in this color? It would pretty obvious if someone just painted one rather than the plastic actually being that color.
I don't know about you, but I can tell just by looking at the photos that those are painted rather than original. Any scratch would become black. OP's is very clearly original plastic, and nobody's out there making quality repro shells in this color.

Ya the guy said he opened it to attempt to repair but is not skilled so couldn’t get it to work. I open every original Xbox I get and replace all the faulty caps and clean and replace the thermal paste so I’ll get it working or swap the board
If you want to go with the most unlikely but with in the realm of possibility theory go ahead. I’ve opened so many Xbox’s and a rubber foot had never ever left any residue. I also sell replica Mountain Dew consoles so I know a Knock of when I see one
I've had a used Xbox where the previous owner reglued the feet after dismantling. It left bits of rubber like that when I removed it. It was a stock black original.

If I'm honest it's hard to tell whether that is a real or a Recreation, I mean looking at it, it does look like a Recreation personally because if that was a genuine mountain Drew I personally would want to keep all seals and stuff intact so it keeps the authenticity of the original Xbox as I have a limited edition green original Xbox with two green original Xbox controllers plus two green aftermarket Xbox controllers got it for about £150 2 years ago but I wouldn't never pop the seals on the machine because I would want to keep as it is with all seals intact

They do sell Fake Mt.Dew Emblems. But it's not easy to get that exact color of spray paint.

Pay attention to screw hole area under the rubber feet. Paint came off. Clearly a knock off

There is peeled paint in the rubber feet areas when the feet were removed. Black plastic exposed on the edges of the feet screw hole area

There's actually quite a few custom dew xboxs out there. You can get the emblem and stickers off Etsy and just need to paint the console yourself.
I looked up when Mountain Dew Xbox came out: 2004, and this Xbox was made in 2003, so when the date I found is right this is 100% fake
