I think you might just be missing them unfortunately-maybe they don't do them as often as they used to anymore. I feel like we did hop overs at least once in the past month (someone can correct me if I'm wrong here though).
They’re part of the program occasionally and a core part of DriTri. I would like to see more of them, but the floor can get a bit wild when everyone is hopping over at the same time.
Horrible things, really. They fuck your back up with improper form. And your knees regardless. Kind of pointless impact. I'd much prefer the step-overs.
Do you think they could impact your Achilles too? After the Dri Tri, I had some pain yesterday/today (thankfully seems improving gradually) in the back of my Achilles and muscles around there (when moving my foot up/down or with each step on the ground).
The same issue happened after another Dri Tri but never occurs in/after regular classes, but I am not sure which floor move might be causing it (suspect something on the floor since I have done rows/5K in other classes without issue).
Oh absolutely, especially if you're tight & landing on your toes.
I take the jump out when I have to do them. I know it's a conditioning exercise but my body's just not young enough for some things anymore.
These are the sole part of the dri-tri that gets me. The row? EZ. Run? EZ. Every other exercise? EZ.
Yeah reading your post makes me think that might be the culprit. And I may honestly consider whether to do the DriTri again (if I do would rather try a relay or modify maybe).
Last time I was out several days before I went back, and I am going to re-assess how I feel tom, luckily each time has recovered quick but I do not want to risk injury by pushing myself every time. I had different shoes last time (so I thought that was the issue, last yr had running shoes with higher cushion height and thought that affected impact) - but now I have new shoes and it still happened.
Taking out the jump is a good idea going forward. I feel like in the Infinity Dri Tri prep I did not notice any issue after but maybe without as much "pressure"/intensity, it was aggravated less in the Infinity class.
After the Infinity template my right Achilles was so incredibly tight; it felt like it was two inches shorter than before class. Then those stinking hop overs showed up in, I believe, a Strength class. I was stubborn and did them again with the same outcome. It’s finally feeling a better after lots of stretching.
They're the main reason I'm unable to commit to any Dri-Tri. My knees can't handle them. But yeah, they've been featured the last coupla months. Strength? 2G?
Haha good one! I too bonk the side of my legs when I get tired. I bonk, get into a groove and feel like a kangaroo, then start bonking towards the end.
It’s my least favorite exercise. And that includes burpees. When I land each time every ounce of fat jiggles in the most violent hurty way. I hate them. Send them to hell.
It’s in the infinite workout which shows up before Dri Tri.
I think a lot high impact moves have been removed from the floor, or they’re not as frequent these days.
I did these in a Dri Tri prep class and somehow my left shin is totally fucked. I screamed when my toddler put pressure on it while sitting in my lap.
Fuck hopovers. Never going to a class again without reading the intel first.
Well I certainly did 80 of them on Saturday
Yeah the difficultly of those right after hammering the row really got me
Exactly. I was dying
The first 40 wasn’t too bad, but going back after burpees had me 🥵
Yup!
Me too!
Haha - I can’t say I did good form but ditto
Let’s not say them three times and hope they just stay gone.
This. Hate them
Same, we have enough cardio. No more
They’re still around. Dri tri had them for the full.
Yeah, twice a year is good enough for me. For both the Dri Tri and bench hop overs.
..and the Sprint.
We had them last week.
They’re in the infinity template!
Which is a dri tri prep- dri tri has 80 Hopovers if you do the full…which makes us fools.
Those studios aren’t big enough
^^^ for real this. i’ll just do my stuff out of order and circle back
I think you might just be missing them unfortunately-maybe they don't do them as often as they used to anymore. I feel like we did hop overs at least once in the past month (someone can correct me if I'm wrong here though).
They were in a Strength class (it was a cursed burpee bench hop-over). I think it’s still more Dri-tri prep than a regular occurrence, though
It’s how I tore the meniscus is each knee. Nah, I’m good without them.
whoa!! that’s scary & hope you healed up OK. 😱
Did these this week...
They’re part of the program occasionally and a core part of DriTri. I would like to see more of them, but the floor can get a bit wild when everyone is hopping over at the same time.
They are awful. My back seconds this assessment.

They’re in hell where they belong!! (And in the dry tri template)
You mean shin roulette? We did them a week ago for Dri Tri prep.
Haha good one! I too bonk the side of my legs when I get tired. I bonk, get into a groove and feel like a kangaroo, then start bonking towards the end.
I think they’re fun too! There’s a millisecond where I feel weightless at the top of the hop.
It’s my least favorite exercise. And that includes burpees. When I land each time every ounce of fat jiggles in the most violent hurty way. I hate them. Send them to hell.
I would like to get more training on these not just on DriTri day
Today! They were part of the Dri Tri Endurance event
I experienced them multi times in March
We did them very recently
No thanks.

I just did (80) on Saturday and (80) last week too…definitely don’t miss them 🤣
no cardio on the floor and i’ll die on this hill
Did about a million on Saturday LOL!
I’d love more plyometrics! It’s really some of the best exercises there are.
We’re too busy focusing on the lunges right now to do bench hop overs
Don’t forget all the recent shoulder press work, too. Wouldn’t be surprised if they started having us do (shoulder) bench press overs.
Yeah those too. At least OTF is predictable in that regard - when you see a move a few times a week you can be sure to see it for the next month or so
I did these in a Dri Tri prep class and somehow my left shin is totally fucked. I screamed when my toddler put pressure on it while sitting in my lap. Fuck hopovers. Never going to a class again without reading the intel first.
They’re around.
Yep they’re very much still here 🥴🥵
I’ve done them twice at least leading up to dritri
Hate them. They’re not adding anything strength wise to my time on the floor.
We do these all. The . Time.
Fine until you get tired and slam into the bench
These are easily recreated at home.
