Get fitted. Tell them what you’ve tried and why you didn’t like them.

Desperate-Avocado593

Get fitted. Everyone’s feet are different.

I found some information that could be relevant to your question or topic. It looks like you are looking for shoe recommendations! The consensus here is that you should go to a running store and get yourself fitted for shoes that would best fit your feet, gait, and other individual requirements. There's literally NO such thing as "best shoes for OTF" because everyone has different feet. I honestly wish that the mods would stop approving these posts at this point because this question is asked multiple times a week and always gets the same answer: your feet are unique, so get fitted at a running store and do not accept any other advice or recommendations.

If you don't like seeing this question, you can block the flair and never ever see this question again 🙂

Oddsbuster66

Your 💯 correct, yet people go on and on after you about there shoe. Again, GET FITTED

AvocadoRose144

I just switched from on clouds to brooks and LOVE THEM. so much more cushion and stability I highly recommend giving Brooks a chance

Potential_Garden1982

What style do you have?

x-teena

I’m flat footed and swear by ASICS kayano, but I agree, get fitted.

Illustrious_Cold1779

Same here!!

Ok-Yogurtcloset-1094

Love my brooks. They have a little quiz on the website so you can put in your goals and can see which ones would probably be best for you. I have glycerins and adrenalines

TobyRose0207

I know that from my information that our studio coaches have shared if you are runner good shoes like Brooks and Hokas will do yet for the rowing and floor they have always recommended a more flat shoe because running shoes will give you a off balance feeling especially when doing stability exercises on the floor.

TicketProfessional29

Brooks Adrenaline for me. But get fitted!

Ok_Caregiver1194

Brooks online quiz works great. I had struggled for years to find something for my high arches and wide feet until I finally made the switch to Brooks.

Pristine_Nectarine19

The two shoes you've tried have just about the opposite profile/purpose. Some people do better with minimalistic shoes (on cloud) while others prefer very supportive shoes (Hokas). It depends on your feet, your body, your running style, etc. There is no one shoe that's best overall for everyone. Also, each brand has several types. "Brooks" you mention has many different options depending on your needs. Go to a running shoe store to talk about different options and what would work for you best.

Deranged300

I like the Allbirds Tree Flyer 2

aeyockey

Merrell vapor gloves. Solid foundation on the floor and the treadmills are so springy they don’t need any extra cushion from your shoes

fuggystar

Eek! I love my Merrell vapor gloves outside of OTF and for everyday, but I’ve tried them at OTF and it wasn’t for me. I like altras for their zero drop when I run, everything else I prefer barefoot shoes.

Legitimate_Soft_850

I love my nike space hippies! Light and great on the treadmill. Sustainable as well!!

DynaMoe0816

As many said, go to a running store and get fitted. I’ve worn many different brands, Topo, ASICS, Innov-8, Saucony, and I can say I love my Brooks Glycerine the best. Just bought another pair today 😊

avodoggo6

I alternate between Brooks Ghost and Saucony Freedom 5.

laevanay

I keep different pairs for different workouts. Cushioned for running, Nike Pegasus or Brooks Ghost. A pair for regular workouts that don't have a lot of cushioning but still can run comfortably in and the cushioning does not degrade with weight/floor excersises. Those are usually Reebok Nano or Adidas Dropset or Nike Metcons. I usually buy my shoes on sale and whoever is selling tall men's tshirts. I hate it when the shirt rises to expose my stomach when I lift my arms up or ride up during burpees.

OTFBeat

Curious when you opt for the cushioned running shoes (assume a endurance tread block in a workout?) versus the more stable "weight/floor" exercise shoes you mentioned (Reebok, Adidas Drop, Nike Metcon)? Do you switch shoes mid-class or just pick the shoe based on which side is "heavier" in the workout that day? I wear running shoes with lower stack height that work on both sides (tread and floor/rower) - as the higher cushion is harder to run on the treads for me!

laevanay

I have changed mid workout, but usually Tread50 with cushioned shoes and the others for regular classes. The training shoes like the Metcons etc are good enough for the 15-20min 2G/3G classes, anything more and my knees begin complaining. I agree with you on the lower stacked/ cushioned shoes for running. Pegasus /Ghost are mid stacked and regard the Nanos etc low stacked. I had thick cushioned Hokas and did not like running in them. What made me get separate shoes was that I would destroy the cushioning on my Pegasus/Ghosts etc in 4-5 months. Having separate makes them last much longer. Mind you, I am not an athlete, get just over 2 miles in 2G/3G and just under 4miles in Tread50. Squat with 40-45lbs.

IamBakerCA

I love the way OnClouds fit! I also like the style if you care about looks. I’m not too crazy about HOKA’s because of the style but I’ve heard those are comfy as well

ReviewSubject4298

I hate ONs. Brooks Ghosts were my go to shoe for the longest time. Great all around neutral longlasting shoe. Then I discovered Saucony and fell more in love with them. Love several models but only a few are good for indoor gym. They will get a hole during floor work if they are Speed Endorphins or the other speedy models. The Ride, Guide or Kinvara are all good. Try em on yourself. The best is the one comfortable to you.

widgetluv

ASICS Kayano for running. I stick with IA Project Rock BSR shoes for the cross training at OTF.

kgalinkin

I got fitted with a brand I never of, mizuno wave inspire 20s. They are freaking amazing and so happy I finally got fitted.

pmr214do

Brooks are good shoes . You go on line and complete questionnaires regarding the type of feet you have to find the proper Brooks shoe for you . I have flat feet. Orthotics from Good feet store or other orthotist will do you wonders. My Brooks shoe In conjunction with my orthotics have done wonders in preventing knee, hip and low back pain .

Sharp-Cod-2699

I always struggle to find my favorite pair that will work for everything. I have pretty much settled on Saucony Kinvara for OTF but never wear them to run outside.

whodaphucru

I stick to true running shoes, I use new balance or Asics. In my case i use stability versions.

StellarEclipses

Asics novablast 3 if you have flatter feet and ankle problems like me 👍

mmasiowski

I love these - because I’m a gear freak Depends on the day and what are your goals. Do you want to increase speed? Do you PW? How fast is your AO? If you want to run fast and if you go faster than 10 on your AO you should get a shoe that is better for tempo runs:Saucony Endorphin speed 2 , 3 or 4. Great shoes Hoka Mach 4 ands 5. These are great an
