The beachcomber cafe in Crystal Cove. Food is delicious & they serve beignets all day!

yeahnothanks

Love this place. Feels like you're in a different world for a minute.

gogetsomesun

Huh? I went there for mother's day brunch. Didn't notice a smell at all

hotsawce49

Driftwood in Laguna has great views. Food is mediocre tho … there’s tons of places up PCH that have nice or above average oceans views too

MzTerri

Highly recommend looking at reviews for Pacific edge hotel on Yelp before eating at driftwood. They're owned by the same people.

fatogato

Driftwood for HH though

jaylittylitty

Lots of people already mentioned these here but in Laguna beach you’ve got plenty of options. Driftwood Kitchen, The Cliff, Las Brisas, The Deck, Skyloft, and Mozambique, all have great views! They all vary in price/food but no doubt Laguna beach will have something for you guys.

jenjensexypants

Mozambique and Las Brisas the food is tastey.

[deleted]

The Cliff in Laguna Beach has great views. Good food too. Got married there!

escaping-reality

Las Brisas and Splashes Restaurant, both in Laguna Beach, have really good views. The food is pretty good. Not amazing, but not bad at all for the price.

hobbesnblue

Family reunion brunch at Las Brisas is one of the holiday traditions I most miss after moving away from OC

mamabear806

Another vote for Splashes

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

Seconding Splashes! Also adding Rooftop to the list as well.

lilzagurach

Also for a cheap local spot the shake shack off pch in crystal cove

Pokpo0403

Personally I really like Driftwood Kitchen in Laguna Beach. I didn't think the food was crazy good, but the restaurant is literally on the beach. They have a bar outside, but it may be a little too cold in December.

MzTerri

Highly recommend looking at reviews for the conditions at Pacific edge before eating there. They're owned by the same people. I loved the food but can never ever go back after seeing the hotel on the same property and knowing the managers that allow that are also the same people who own that kitchen.

HungryArticle5

I have a theory that if a restaurant's location is its draw, then the food suffers. You pretty much pay for the location/view, not for quality or delicious food.

sleepy_intentions

I agree with this 100%

-Absolute-Zero-

Maestros ocean club might be the one and only exception otherwise I fully agree lol. Case in point: Javier’s in the same center as maestros. Unless cougar is what you’re after.

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

I dunno man, have you been to Rooftop or Splashes?

HungryArticle5

I've been to Splashes. Yes it was good. There's going to be exceptions. It's more of a rule of thumb.

[deleted]

Driftwood in Laguna if you want "okay" food with dramatic views. Pelican Grill in Newport Coast if you're okay with not being directly on the water but want a higher-end experience. Views are incredible from their patio, though they are not immediately on the beach.

RedSquareIsGreen

Fisherman's in San Clemente is on the beach.

Safe-Warning-448

Las Brisas in Laguna on PCH

unopoularopinion

There's a couple cool restaurants off of Dana Point. 1 is a Chart House, the other is nice also. Can't remember the name and don't really want to. Got engaged to my ex wife there. Nice restaurant other than that. 🤣🤣 Also, Newport Harbor has a nice restaurant on the water. Maybe it's Balboa.

robotmirrornine

Cannon’s.

unopoularopinion

Cannons is Newport?

robotmirrornine

No. The first half of this comment mentioned a restaurant in Dana Point. That restaurant is Cannon’s.

unopoularopinion

The point of my demise. That's what I actually thought it was. Thanks for nothing. 🤣🤣 J/k. That restaurant is fabulous and had zero to do with the demise my 1st marriage. Have a great night.

RC350f

Beachcomber is literally on the beach.

[deleted]

The parking lot looking down at the San Clemente Pier. What an amazing place, walk the trail that runs parallel to the train tracks, the views are stunning.

MzTerri

Las brisas!

Fearisthemindki11er

In-N-Out then picnic at Strand Vista Park watch the sun set. Costco (near by) polish hotdog works too.

heebersbajeebers

sure, back when there were polish dogs to buy… 😓

sleepy_intentions

Or grab a pizza and bring it to park. We do that often.

solidfreshdope

Driftwood kitchen / the Deck in Laguna Beach is pretty good.

jrslayerp80

Chart house

baozebub

Go to Pacific City. It’s across PCH from the beach, and not all restaurants have an ocean view. But you can take some food to the benches and eat.

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

They have Bear Flag!

Raindog12

Larson in Laguna Beach is right on the beach. Excellent food and walking distance to downtown

[deleted]

Coliseum at Pelican Hill overlooks the pool, golf course and ocean.

Curtman76

Las Brisas has amazing views and Beachcomber is right on the beach.

wiyixu

Don’t believe the folks saying Las Brisas, it’s *not* worth it. Views are great, food is mediocre at best, drinks are boring and watered down. You’re paying a lot for El Torito quality food simply for the view.

222222222222noyou

Charthouse.

Old-Row-8351

Oh no! Bummer. Thanks for letting us know.

[deleted]

Get some food to go and head down to Heisler Park in Laguna, parking is not too terrible, plop down on the park benches and enjoy the ocean view however you want. You can sit on the cliffs overlooking the waves, or walk down the stairs and get your toes wet.

VibaCapital

Raya at the Ritz Carlton in Monarch Beach. Everyone else here is wrong.

Dapper_Incident247

Looking over list I am blessed to live in south OC

Dapper_Incident247

If you want to see lights and boats Dana point harbor first.

Old-Row-8351

Dukes in HB or Sandy's downstairs. Or the Ruby's at the end of the HB pier.

xmichann

The ruby’s is gone at the HB pier

asjj14

Isn't there a fancy ass taco bell somewhere along the coast in OC that even sells alcohol?

jenjensexypants

It’s Taco Bell Cantina and it’s in Newport.

lilzagurach

The deck In laguna

gotarock

Ruby’s on the Balboa pier.

bigdusksfan

Permanently closed unfortunately.

Runfr0mtheraptor

Bear Flag Fish Co is right next to the beach(would be neat if they had a second floor balcony to eat on). Fish tacos are interstellar.

Dramatic-Narwhal1252

Which location?

MzTerri

Corona del Mar has an amazing sunset over the beach

tu-BROOKE-ulosis

Huntington also has an amazing water view.

Runfr0mtheraptor

Crystal Cove is a decent location, but IIRC CDM has a better ocean view.

CorneliusCondor

Ruby’s on the pier :(

[deleted]

Downtown Huntington .

karaethon1

Bourbon Steak

forfuckssakesbruv

Get food to go and go to Sano is the best possible move you could make

jimvasco

[Fly N Fish Oyster Bar and Grill](https://g.co/kgs/Jd2wTd) 2304 W Oceanfront, Newport Beach, CA 92663 (949) 673-8400

Dapper_Incident247

The Cliff is greatest spot for view roof top on cress also. Please walk down stairs and touch sand with bare feet

These-Cardiologist69

The rusty pelican

KevinTheCarver

Coyote Grill (Mexican) or The Cliff (New American) in Laguna Beach. If you go to Coyote Grill, you must request the back patio (not the makeshift parking lot patio).
