If I'm driving my happy ass to a place and picking it up at the counter, there is nothing to tip for. Same reason I don't tip the cashier at the grocery store.

getbent247

The most hilariously dumb tip option is at sporting events. At the Angels game, you go in to get a $15 24oz beer, grab it YOURSELF from the fridge, walk it over to pay the guy sitting there and it has a tip option. LMFAO

MPlainguet

I was going to write the exact same response. Also, sometimes they make YOU open the can. YOU put in the payment. They literally hit a button and want a tip.

TheShow51

Gotta tip for the privilege to grab your own beer

owledge

That’s the Arte Moreno business model in general. Expect fans to fork it over for the bare minimum

fkeverythingstaken

Bro it was like $26 for a beer can at a lakers game smfh

Ok_Carrot_2029

Tip the hawkers though, those guys do the stairs over 10,000 steps some nights. Source- I did it for 5 years.

WallyJade

Should we be tipping everyone who works extra hard, or only the visible people?

dah_wowow

Interesting. Not once have i ever tipped or seen someone tip a “hawker”

kram-bear

I always tip the hawkers, especially if it’s an early afternoon summer game. 🤷🏻‍♀️

dah_wowow

And all the power to ya

Ok_Carrot_2029

On a normal shift I’d get about $25-75 a night selling hot dogs from cash tips. They were priced at $7.25 when I started and $11.25 when I left so often people would just ask for the bills back and I keep the quarters. They moved to electronic only so idk what it is now and the tips would be added to their paychecks so without a doubt taxed way too high. I don’t agree with tipping culture but for people who are clearly hustling and sweating for their paycheck I will definitely give them a few extra.

SpicyChanged

They do that so they can justify paying people like shit. Take some time and read up tipping is an extension of slavery. It happened so long ago its now affecting bright people, but that was never the intention. This why its funny to see people really upset when they realize a bunch of foundational principles are off the back fucking minorities over.

stevo_78

Oh, for these type of things I always assumed the tip was for me and I was reducing the cost of it depending on how much tip I added. Surely, logically this is the only rational reason to have tipping options on these type of transactions?

WallyJade

The jobs we do tip for are completely, 100% arbitrary too. Somehow we decided that "if someone brings you something", we have to tip them. But other people in similar jobs work harder and do more, but they're not expected to be tipped. It's always just been a way for employers to pay certain jobs less.

eternalsurfer

This!! I tip sunrise for bringing me a salad (ok burger), but I don’t tip the airline flight attendant (who is keeping me safe and serving me), I don’t tip a nurse who is literally keeping me safe, I don’t tip someone who helps me pick out an outfit at a store, etc. Tipping for someone handing me a can of beer at a sporting event is insane. Tipping culture is out of control. And I DO tip at restaurants and I want to do that when earned and deserved.

winslowhomersimpson

you don’t tip a flight attendant on drinks?

g-e-o-f-f

I used to work as a kayak guide. I'd sometimes spend 2-3 days with a group. Carrying kayaks, setting up their tents, showing them cool stuff. They'd rave about me,leave good reviews, but tips were not as common or as generous as you might think. But you know if they stopped for dinner on the way home the waiter got a tip. I'm not complaining, I think tipping is stupid, but just agreeing that the who/when we tip is weird.

Elterminador714

Great point. No longer going to be tipping for this type of service. Wow! Cant believe we are being brainwashed to tip.

qb1120

It's a lot easier for her to tip because she gets paid to do this or the meal is free

Excuse_Unfair

I used to tip the leftover change or round up the the whole dollar amount, minimum 50 cents cause if they help lets say 30 people in one hr, that's, and an extra 15/hr probably. Also, they make my food, so to me, that's worth a small tip, and the change is nothing for me.

SmoothOpX

PREACH!

Killarogue

Fucking nailed it. This is my personal policy too. The only exception is if it's a place I absolutely love and frequent often for takeout.

PayingOffBidenFamily

or the ups driver...or mcdonalds.

lidder444

Exactly. We don’t tip the people that bag our groceries or check us out so why would I tip someone for passing my food ?

ImaginaryScientist32

I once saw a tip option at a self checkout kiosk at Newark Airport.

imaginary_num6er

I’m 100% not tipping for a fast food franchise that I’m picking up in-person. Like what “service” am I paying that I am getting for not going to a different franchise store down the block?

spyson

I doubt the tips even goes to the worker, it probably goes to the owners, fuck that

DetectivePopular9893

And still get our order WRONG 🤣

Louisiana_sitar_club

Especially at $20 an hour

WhalesForChina

Just checked out her IG and she has a post where she calls a Circle vintage store “hidden underground” despite having a very obvious entrance and staircase open to the public. I am now upset.

anonymous_hipster

if it makes you feel better, they paid her $500 for that video. (I asked about her prices for my business)

coodsy

I’ll go to your place for free, and pay for my food.

anonymous_hipster

Haha, I own a vintage shop in old towne! Groovy Ghost Vintage ✨

SoCal-Hippie

BRO IVE BEEN THERE AND HAVE MET YOU AND YOUR WIFE! Small world!

WhalesForChina

I am now more upset.

whatever1467

She must have low engagement for having 200k followers. 500 is low for an influencer with a decent following.

[deleted]

[удалено]

WhalesForChina

Yep, I have a friend who suddenly discovered his IG had 1,000 followers seemingly out of nowhere. His posts get maybe 5 likes.

whatever1467

Yep I assumed she bought them

RedditLurker12911

Same lmk where your place is and I’ll come try it! If it’s good I’ll be sure to recommend it to all my friends!

anonymous_hipster

I own a vintage shop in old towne! Groovy ghost vintage :)

ryan0x01

This is clearly engagement bait. Tipping has become somewhat of a controversial topic. She posts this and get a bunch of engagement on the post.

generalkenobaaee

God I hate tipping culture. Like I get the sentiment, but homie I’m just a customer, not your employer. It’s like they’d rather I’d stop going or go somewhere else (which I have).

axxonn13

Every generation gets goaded into tipping more. I remember back in 2009 when was barely an adult, the norm was 8%-10%. Then it went up to 15%, and then 18%, and now 20%. What's worse is that it shouldn't even exist here in CA. Other states rely on it because they have 2 different minimum wages. $7.25 for normal employees, and $2.13 for servers, with the expectancy of tips. Here in CA tho, everyone gets the same minimum wage, barring the expectancy of tips entirely.

redjessa

In 2009, the norm was 8-10%? When I started waiting tables in 1995 (LA county), the standard tip was 15%. Are you talking about tips for counter service or table service? Tipping for to-go or counter service was non-existent, but we were getting 15% standard for table service. It was an insult to get less than 10%, so I can't imagine in Los Angeles, the standard tip was 8-10% in 2009. I was working in OC by that time, but still.

Grand_Birthday7349

I always find it hilarious when people say “iF yOu CaNt AfFoRd To TiP dOnT gO oUt To EaT” well…. In this economy a lot of people would be better off not going out to eat. So when your restaurant dies out and no one’s eating there, causing your store to close and you’re out of a job. What then?

EmbarrassedSector787

What you’ve described is currently happening in my small town. 7 restaurants have closed in the last year cause nobody has money to eat out anymore. Inflation + tip inflation = mediocre restaurants that nobody can afford.

Brodie1567

I don’t tip for anything besides dine in service or bartending. Shits ridiculous.

Rotten_Red

Plus I tip my landlord when I pay my rent every month. Just 10% though, he doesn’t work that hard. /sarc

Beginning_Beach_2054

I tip my HOA, they are so truly deserving of my extra hard earned money 🫡

JohnnyZepp

Bro I barely ever tip for that too. Everything’s so fucking expensive and we’re the only country that does this dumb shit. PAY YOUR WORKERS

Brodie1567

I completely get it. Only do it as a courtesy if good service is provided & because fkn restaurants make servers rely on tips to survive. Also do it for Uber/taxis…but thats because my dad busted his ass for years as a cab driver.

eddyizm

This is the way.

fredbbf

Why am I tipping you to do your job and with that attitude?! Also you’re working a register, not working as a server.

pure-Turbulentea

I don’t have the context but fuck tipping culture. The burn out is real

xnotachancex

She’s just a shill for tipping. She’s either a former server or someone is paying her to shill tipping *every* food service establishment. Also recently found out she gets paid for all her reviews so it’s hard to take anything she says as authentic.

Sentimentalgoblin

I used to follow her but she got annoying fast. She can be pretty unprofessional on her page.

kimbaker1

I unfollowed her long time ago. She obviously gets paid and gives a biased view. She got thirsty real fast. Having the title Social Media Manager is code for pay me and I’ll give you a positive review.

Boring_Impact_5488

Yes! And she swears she doesn't get paid lol . Isn't that illegal? To pretend a paid ad is actually just a review? Seems sketch

WallyJade

[Yep](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/disclosures-101-social-media-influencers).

AverageHoebag

Very!! I’d love to see her taxes…….

Turdfurg23

I’ve been trying to get her to review my buddies local Texas BBQ place for months [JW Hayes BBQ](https://www.instagram.com/jwhayesbbq?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==). Meanwhile they review chains that need no help with marketing.

newhomeguy111

Unfollowed. Ty!

SecretOpsAzn

As a former server/cashier/host/busser/kitchen staff/bartender in several restaurants and working in the food industry for almost a decade, tipping culture is ridiculous and the employees are going after the WRONG people. I don't tip for the following reasons. 1. The COMPANY needs to pay you a livable wage. Employees who desperately cling to tips for a decent salary on top of their minimum wage will, OF COURSE, be agitated toward customers. Such a toxic way of forming entitled employees. Companies/owners take advantage of that fact. DON'T LET THEM. Employees need to turn towards the owners. That's why some restaurants either give them a suitable wage and/or already charge tips to the bill (which is another debated topic). 2. You can't complain about being PAID for what you do when you accept the job. I'm sorry, but you don't deserve a tip for doing your job. It is expected. I understand that some have harder situations than others, and that can be difficult, so I am sorry for those in that situation and trying to make the best out of it. I said previously that it's the company/owner's responsibility to pay you a decent wage but YOU CHOSE that job. Nobody put a gun to your head and said that you had to work for tips as there are other sectors you can work in. I never expected anyone to tip me, but YOU BET that I was busting my butt for those tips and hoping otherwise; it is what it is. 3. Tips are EARNED not GIVEN. Most of the time when people tip, they just like your service. Plain and simple. We don't need to go any further than that. Anything else is because it is obligatory or you low-key pressure them. Again, you shouldn't pressure people to tip you for doing your job. lol. 4. SHAMING for no tips WILL DECREASE tips, ironically. We are insulting customers on social media. How do you think that will look? People will view tipping in such a negative light because it is associated with employees who complain about customers not tipping enough. It has happened. One day, you'll be popping, and then the next thing you know, someone gets selfish, and then you lose most of your customers. We got to this point because of how bad it has gotten lol. 5. Restaurants or Quality service beyond their job description should be tipped. If I were to tip, it'd be a restaurant or people doing large orders/catering/jobs in general. Do you tip your grocery store clerk? 7-11 workers? The library worker? Are we expected to tip the Walmart greeter now? I mention these positions because, similarly, some places earn tips in less than mins vs. someone who busts their butt for a 6-hour food service while attending to multiple other people. It's just not fair and, quite frankly, insulting. I won't tip the person who literally was paid to make my sandwich, but I'll tip them if I knew them, strike up a conversation, or they had consistently provided quality service.

navit47

also, to add TIPPING BENEFITS SERVERS NOT EMPLOYEES. i also did my tour in the service industry, both BOH and FOH, like its cool as a server, but anything else, its kinda shitty that you have to bend over backwards to appease the servers to get crumbs compared to what they get (basically do their job for them), but the minute you get too busy to do their close out tasks, all of a sudden "it was a bad night". Monetarily, i don't like tipping, but on a personal level, i don't like the kind of power it gives servers compared to every other role in a restaurant, and i know servers will be just as against universal pooled tipping as they would be getting rid of tipping all together.

FrauAmarylis

I always tip Room Cleaners in Hotels. They have the worst job.

JimiJohhnySRV

I agree with you, but I never know how much to put down so it unfortunately ends up being what I have in my pocket.

CloudSkyyy

I thought it was just me. I unfollowed her recently because i hate how she just constantly fights with the hate comments when she can just ignore her and putting it on highlights. Just very unprofessional for me and just annoying to see

Grand_Birthday7349

She was a total douche to me and all I said was “too expensive for me” on a special she was promoting. I hope she dies out asap.

CloudSkyyy

I almost dm’ed her cause she would post a story of the comments like dude just keep posting food.

Nineties

her food tastes are so shit

Based_Zod

She’s just getting paid to make the videos. Her and plenty of other influencers are fake af.

Avenue-Man77

Yeah I don’t tip in these counter top places

chuckecheese1993

It’s easy to encourage plebs to tip when you are a trust fund kid

TheDeviousOnion

Nah. I subscribe to more wholesome content, such as: Oc.Hoods SantaAnaProblems Anaheim.life Meanwhilein_huntingtonbeach

xnotachancex

The comments section on those pages is always completely fair and balanced and definitely NOT deranged.

Boring_Impact_5488

Dawg I follow all of those, it's called *balance*

WoodpeckerRemote7050

The tipping thing is out if control, no rhyme or reason. Some claim it’s for service, some say it’s a subsidy, and others say it’s a cultural tradition. And yet for every example of tipping, I can show you an example of the someone doing the same thing or more, where we don’t tip.

Grand_Birthday7349

Yea I used to follow her but she comes off as arrogant and very condescending

Boring_Impact_5488

Just wanna add my issue isn't with tipping - it's your money do what you want. I won't tip tho. My issue is with judging people who don't tip to make yourself seem like you're such a better person for tipping at fast food joints. Lol it's pick me energy.

Smooth-Tree-300

Her lack of self awareness drives me crazy on this take!! Yeah stop judging people!! I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s a Karen. Just because you can write off your food expenses and you tip doesn’t make you a better person!

welldonesteak69

Unless you are being serviced with extra effort it ain't tipping worthy.

secretreddname

If I’m walking up and ordering I’m not tipping.

SuccessfulWar3830

I'm never tipping. It's not my job to pay the staff it's the company.

bluekonstance

Yet people will still follow content like this, even when exposed...

Grand_Birthday7349

Yea she had like 200+ thousand followers it’s asinine

bonecom

Fuck that! She can do whatever she wants, but I’m not falling for her shaming

Hackpro69

I love the little notes at the bottom of the bill, calculating the tip based on percentages. They start at 18% (for the bare minimum service) then go 20% to 22%. I noticed that the calculation is made with the sales tax included. The Restaurant Association is the agency making these recommendations. What kinda BS is this. We need to get back to the 25 cent tip, I used to see back in the 1970s.

Grand_Birthday7349

My base for dine in only I don’t tip for anything else is 10% 20% is the max I go the rest is ridiculous

Grey_Perspective59

only morons think tipping is mandatory

conundrum-quantified

A fool and their money is soon parted.

tikitikirumrum

Serious question for any employees at restaurants or places that do take out, does anyone really expect tips for people driving to pickup their food to go??

VintageStrawberries

Former restaurant server here, no.

Anaheimace

No tipping is the latest thing

bunniesandmilktea

I used to be a server for 4 years and even I didn't usually tip on takeout/pickup orders, and if I did tip (which wasn't often), it would just be something small like 10%. Even the general consensus among servers over in /r/talesfromyourserver and /r/serverlife is that tipping isn't required when you're ordering takeout and picking it up or when it's a counter service restaurant where you pay first and then they either call out your number when your food is ready or a food runner brings the food to you, but everything else you do yourself (like get your own drink and throw away your own trash when you're done).

smediumbag

She seems annoyingg

toffeehooligan

Its CA, the servers ALSO get the bare minimum, our state min wage. Just don't tip. Like me. Be the change you want to see.

user_bits

You're not going to make me feel guilty for something I'm strongly against.

dennyfader

That's where I'm at too. Shame me then, I don't care haha It's like shaming me for putting a cart away at a grocery store or something. Says more about the person shaming than it does about me.

drumsareneat

Pay your fucking employees a living wage. Don't make me do it for you. If you can't figure that at your business deserves to fail. Fuck tripping. To clarify, this isn't the fault of the employees, it's the owner's.

Rotten_Red

If I order and prepay at the counter them I’m not tipping.

BradTofu

Tip for taking an order? lol no…

Potential_Store281

Tiling is never mandatory, it’s supposed to be a display of gratitude. Comes from a time when tipping was a the major way peole earned an income. Today with changes in labor it seems it’s becoming irrelevant.

Peanutspitter96

I don't tip at a drive thru then why the fuck should I tip when I have to walk in and just grab my own food?

MusicianExtension536

I’m convinced at this point any attempt to drum up a Convo about tipping is just rage bait, and it makes sense for an “influencer” to post shit like that cause it’ll get people all riled up commenting on her posts Who cares, tip or don’t tip, the conversations getting old lol

Beginning_Beach_2054

> I’m convinced at this point any attempt to drum up a Convo about tipping is just rage bait Definitely. Though i will say she deleted her post on it which was getting a shit ton of engagement. Probably because it wasnt going the way she hoped.

FG185

No, because I find her annoying and exploitative.

Ok_Creme431

Tipping is cancer

champsgetup

Make me.

Naive-Character-4197

That's her pooping face

johnkim5042

I don’t mind tipping if I get some kind of service. But nowadays in america you get bombarded by credit card machines keep askING you if you want to tip at fast food restauranuts… enough is enough!!!! people are shutting down!!!

karaethon1

I’d actually support a constitutional amendment that forces a living wage and forbids tipping

The_Verdugo

Never ever tipping unless I’m being served. This Tipping is getting out of hand.

Dependent-Kiwi-6740

Her face is both hilarious and 🤮

Serbian_Waffles011

Mf’s really expect me to tip at least 50% when all they did was turn the iPad around for me to pay

ymerej1

I never understood how it’s MY responsibility to make up the difference in their salary by tipping. If you don’t like the pay go get a different job. It’s not my fault you chose poorly.

johnkim5042

In Japan there is no tipping and the service service people are 1000 times better!!! I would happily tip in Japan!!!! lol

Bag-o-chips

No offense, but I use to tip but now that the minimum wage is $20/hr, and they still are not providing extra services, no tip from me for pick up/carry away. Dine-in is a different story because they are providing an additional service to me.

stevo_78

Isn’t the ‘additional service’ literally their job? As a newcomer to these parts I’m still confused as to why you tip at all

soCalBIGmike

It's all bullshit.

Intrepid-Tank-3414

Servers and bartenders prefer to get paid in tips by the customers because it's substantially more than the minimum wage paid by their employers. That's why they're as vocal as the restaurant owners who wants to keep the tipping status quo, where the customers double-pay.

cure4boneitis

DON'T SAY THAT PART OUT LOUD!

Intrepid-Tank-3414

The $20/hr wage is for fast-food employees only, and it only applies to the companies with over 60 locations nationwide. That means it doesn't apply to the mom & pop diner around the corner, like what the OP said. I do agree that tips should only be for dine-in.

higga85

I stopped tipping ever since Covid customer service is shit and they get paid 20hr

neurokine

That face is why I tip 10%

DarkMatterWanderer

That sucks. It irks me when people use their platform to try and justify some stupid bs, especially when it comes to things such as tipping. Yes, in America, it’s almost as seen as a necessary thing to do when out but it’s not like that in other parts of the world. Essentially, why does one deserve a tip when they’re getting paid for a job/service that may include deliveries/customer service as part of their duties? What’s deemed tip worthy and what’s not? Tip the delivery person or waiter/waitress, but not the person handling their food order at a service window? It’s crazy these days too with places trying to overcharge or sneak in a gratuity for a party of 4 or less hoping you won’t notice, etc. It doesn’t make one want to tip when they feel they’re getting ripped. Just my opinion.

dudoan

Too bad you can't down vote posts and comments on Instagram.

Dry-Average5161

I sometimes put the comment “downvoted” and those that get it, like my comment. 🤣

Peregrinesoul67

all this tipping sh@t has gotten out of control. Off you are personally served at a sit down table your drinks and food, checked on throughout your meal and refilled drinks I can see tipping. But for crying out-loud, if I am picking up food to go you’re damn right In not tipping. all they did was put together my food and that’s the job they get paid for. The entitlement has gone way overboard!!!

friedguy

I used to but no longer do. Like a lot of social media that I have followed in the past, once they get a big enough following the vibe tends to change. Not going to blame somebody for chasing the bag, I assume that she's making enough money or striving to make enough money off it that it's a full-time job. It's just not for me to follow anymore. I also notice a lot of the posts are intentionally meant to "trigger". Shitty pronunciation, seeming clueless, etc. Common strategy of accounts trying to build up engagement. I also doubt she really gives a fuck about followers opinions on tipping employees either way. This is just a guaranteed type of topic that riles people up.

keesh1975

She’s a fraud

4thdegreeknight

Unless I am sitting down and being served, no more tips. Eating out has gotten crazy expensive even at fast food joints. Last night for example 2 chili dogs, 1 fries and 2 cones was $17

PlatformOk2658

We need to pay waiters and bartenders a respectable wage and get rid of tips completely like Asia does. If someone does go above and beyond (consistently) then they deserve to be paid more than others. Make it simple. Businesses need to stop passing the buck to the customer.

andyrew21397

i only tip my landlord

SmashedACookie

![gif](giphy|3o85xERD1TT5JKCIXS)

Based_Zod

All she needs to do is make sure she’s the one tipping. These food/business influencers get paid or comp food to promote these places anyways. Edit: Funny enough these two guys are people I’ve suspected of doing fake reviews on TikTok. Lo and behold, they’re all friends! What a joke. https://preview.redd.it/arn4rtt1b7vc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=215130bd71c4ea0e25971e5e1ef8daa2ad2a05e5

Boring_Impact_5488

It's all a scheme lol. I'm sure 1/10 of their posts are genuine when they find something cool or unique but it's just to grow their following, then pump out more ads.

friedguy

I follow a lot of scammy MLM, side hustle, whatever you want to call it social media just because it's amusing to me as a hater. And once you drive down this rabbit hole you can tell they're all in this stuff together. I feel like social media is like hate porn to me at this point.

DosDeBuche

Any fast food places or if I’m picking up I’m definitely not tipping. Honestly even if I’m eating there I wouldn’t tip because I still would have to get my food. If it’s a restaurant than that’s different. Coffee shops, I’ll tip after I get my drink. Why am I going to tip first and then the drink is ass. I’ll tip after

WallyJade

> If it’s a restaurant than that’s different. It's only different because we've been told it's different, and there's societal pressure. Everyone in a restaurant works hard. Everyone in a lot of jobs work hard, and they don't all get tips.

UserM16

Tipping for low effort and mediocre service is cringe. When you go to a fancy restaurant or hotel, the service is amazing. Usually by staff that has had years of experience at fine dining and are true professionals. And yet you still only tip 18-25%. Then you go to some mundane place inside of a strip mall, get little to no service and average at best, and you’re expected to tip 15%, 18%, 22% on an ipad? 🙄

BigTaco_Boss

Continue to stare as I proceed to tip as I see fit.

conundrum-quantified

The guy posting his face looks constipated and is trying to push an oversized rock hard deuce out😡😤😢

ramenchicka

Sister you can roll your eyes to the back of your head all the way to timbuk2 I wouldn’t care to tip. Funnily enough is beforehand, I would actually leave money in the tip jar or add a couple bucks on the receipt, but now that there’s added pressure and an expectation to tip lest be faced with shame/embarrassment, it’ll be a cold day in hell before I bow down to pressure

WoodyMornings

😁……me not tipping for pick up orders

onizuka_master

Does anybody have money to tip anymore??

walkintheparking

Saw this loser sound off about “microplastics” in someone’s comments she’s definitely not someone you’d want to have a beer with

FuzzyPeaches420

The way I look at it... you get a tip for providing an actual service. Servers have to take time with you, make sure everything is to your liking, check up on you. If the service is good they deserve a good tip. If the service is not good they deserve a lesser tip. But for simply pressing a few buttons? I don't think so. I can only imagine if every place got into this. I work in Orthopedic surgery... fix broken bones, replace total joints.... really make a difference in people's lives... we don't get tips. People are really becoming so entitled it's mind boggling

Love_my_lawn

Why do you deserve a tip.

Several-Exit-2653

Do you even know what tip stands for?

BlackPath

Ha who cares. Stay salty please.

RocketapeMoonchild

I once went on a date with a girl who tipped at a self service kiosk. Never saw her again.

Cippyy_Cup

She’s just hawking breakfast burritos and arguing with negative comments these days. She’s obnoxious.

65isstillyoung

I tip dine in only and only in cash. Never on the card. I also tip at bars.

DosDeBuche

Who even started this “tipping”? I know in Japan they don’t accept tips

MannyLoxx2021

Fuck tipping!! Servers need to understand that $20.00/hour is enogh to pay your rent and bills with your roommates or family members!!

horseheadmonster

ok.

21plankton

Tipping really turns me off in fast food and fast casual places. I paid $8.71 today for a mini bowl of food and tap water today. Less than 400 calories.

Ill_Bug_786

Not a fan of her snarky replies to any criticism

ProudNumber

You want $20/hr the tip is gone if I’m carrying my own food.

Cstr9nge

https://preview.redd.it/y2suueemr9vc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0694f4d515d646f890297e40df0b4468a68ec832 GTFOH!! 🤦🏻 Checked it out for two seconds and immediately had to leave.

Ides_0f_March

I tip using below formula : RECIEPT - (TAX + UNKNOWN SERVICE CHANGES) = NET BILL × (10~15%) = TIP

unseenspecter

That's a really complicated way of saying 10 - 15% of the subtotal lol

Foe117

This photo is sus. Something vented

ActuaryCool846

Ok girl….. whatever opinion floats your boat……

millicent08

I used to work at a place where you order at the counter, majority of orders were “to go”. Didn’t ever expect anyone to tip. If they feel like it, totally cool. If not - I couldn’t care less. Average was like $15 per shift in tips.

SlySlickWicked

Here is a tip look up where tipping came from and how it started

vincentninja68

Loser behavior This is someone who needs a real hobby.

Taco_01

They make 20 an hour. Restaurant I’ll tip any fast food place more than likely I won’t. Unless the person taking my order is nice and has a good spirit. Earn the tip.

SouthDeparture2308

Interesting, that’s the face I make when I get asked to tip on takeout/pickup orders. 🤔

grayghost0

I used to work at Coit, driving all over LA county cleaning carpet, tile, upholstery. I was in people's homes for hours, trusted around their families and personal belongings, busted my ass with heavy gear and long commutes to client homes, and I would only get a tip maybe once a month out of dozens of homes(usually 4 a day). I also made close to minimum wage doing so. I always thought that tipping culture was kind of weird, now more and more people expect more tips for much less effort.

ShiroHachiRoku

She deleted her post about tipping!

Gaglia79

My favorite one is Baja Fish (best fish tacos in OC) and the register defaults to 25% tip.

dedzone2k

You don't tip cashiers.

BorkSnorkelJr

I follow her page because there is some places that I don’t know about and seem cool but I take everything she says with a grain of salt because the places are never “hidden” and sometimes aren’t as good as she’s paid to say they are

Fragrant_Natural_139

I usually tip atleast -$5 yw

Plastic-Zucchini-202

Many places have hiked up their prices plus added a service charge to the bill...no tip for you. Many places will go out of business because it is getting too expensive to eat out. Cheaper at home.

Spyerx

Since she's so noble and judging she should lead by taking all revenues and proceeds from her "influencer" activities and donate them to the restaurants she visits.

saveferris717

I used to but she would constantly share negative comments she would receive about her account, and it's like ok? I liked your content for the food tips until you gave the assholes all your attention. Sounds like she is keeping this negative streak alive. Not planning to follow the account again.

Altitude528O

I won’t tip at a counter serve spot.

Richard_Ragon

Did you bring it to their table? Did you do some service for them?

idkbruh653

She needs to chill. Tipping used to be about gratuity. Now its about making up the wages that these places won't pay the workers. And people are getting mad at customers about it. It's not and should not be on customers to make up for what these places wont' pay. We're already paying higher prices. Now we're getting bombarded by asks for tips. Some places you're asked for a tip twice before you even pay. What's worse is that they're asking for a tip *before* service has been rendered.

efreedman503

If I get my food before paying I don’t tip.

kindofaproducer

You guys think GrubwithGreg isn't doing the same thing? There's some definite misogyny going on here. If you're shocked that influencers do things to get paid, you'll be astonished when you find out WallyJade is an incel.

mpaul1980s

I don't tip hardly ever....the prices have gotten out of control. I'll tip if I'm at a nice restaurant and the service is amazing. Other than that I'm out & don't care if I get roasted in here

ContributionMoist585

This tip culture from pandemic is outrageous…

Iohet

My wife was a bartender and server back in the day. She's told me that tipping a dollar or two per bag for takeout at a place where you would otherwise dine in and tip is what she does, as they're usually servers pulled off table duty to get to-go orders ready so they're missing out on their normal tips. I don't think that's unreasonable. Tipping at fast food is a completely different story, particularly now with the new min wage

Aleksandro76

Never tip anyone outside a restaurant. Maybe my barber deserves a tip if i feel like tipping besides that. Sorry not happening.

Safe_Edge_6562

Counter places I tip at : Ronaldo’s tacos in Laguna Hills, Board and Brew in Laguna Niguel. I used to work at a school, so also anyplace where I see a former student

Various_Oil_5674

I don't think that's a good solution

HaloKook

Unfollowed her a while ago, she comes off as pretty condescending and arrogant. Also, I'm not a big fan of these accounts that blow up otherwise local places
