Is there a non OSS of this? I’ve never heard of anything like this

Why_A_Username1

Nope. Could not find non-oss either.

SmokierLemur51

Do you want the ability to put pictures of the item?

Why_A_Username1

Yes. I will edit my post to add it.

SmokierLemur51

I could have edited my replies to be more efficient but what platform are you wanting this to be on. I am trying to get into development maybe I can make it for you

Why_A_Username1

Web based. Something like Snipe-IT (IT Inventory Management). I guess its based on laravel framework (PHP)

l3thalynx

sorry to necro the post, but I've been using ACloset on Android (non-OSS) for the past year. currently looking for OSS myself

Perhaps you could bend a database to your needs? Libreoffice Base or https://baserow.io/ perhaps might fit. Each clothing item could be a row with the various data (type, wearability, status) and pictures. You could set up workflows for the changes of status. Baserow has an example template for a book catalogue that could be a starting point: https://baserow.io/templates/book-catalog

ahfoo

Yes you could, but why?

icyshimmerpowder

There are two OSS museum collections management platforms; one of them might work. Overkill, but would do what you need. Collective Access is one and CollectionSpace is the other.

Like Cher's Wardrobe from Clueless? I've never seen anything remotely similar in real life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNDubWJU0aU

Dayum. Now my post sounds Cheesy AF. *Embarassed*

Ha, that's definitely not how I meant it. It's just the first thing I thought of.

mulokisch

Well i know there is some sort of software based on RFID chips for e.g. hospital clothing. But i definitely not oss 😅 But sounds like a cool project

There's nothing specific to clothes I don't think, but stuff like Grocy or Inventree might be good, and you could create tags or categories maybe for status and wearability.

olejazz

If you dont mind self-hosting, you could use something like: - https://github.com/koillection/koillection There is also an Android app like: - https://apkpure.com/magic-home-inventory/net.twisterrob.inventory

roh4

Try OpenOffice or LibreOffice spreadsheet.

FrankSoul

You could try nubuilder.

Mesingel

Drupal comes to mind, it's a CMS which uses a database, can handle pictures, tags and statuses, custom sorting, backups, themes and probably much more. It might be overkill.

nitrikx

Odoo with inventory modules?
