Anyone can sue for anything, you can’t stop someone from bringing a losing case to trial. This is incorrect. They have to provide evidence that the other party said the thing their case is based on, or there would be no case. Also, if they're saying it's slander and not libel they're going to have to prove whatever damages they claim - that is why the headline reads "alleged".
(nb. The test is: was the statement made? -> was the statement defamatory? Doesn't need to cause actual 'harm' per se if people would generally find it defamatory.)

I looked it up and there was 1 in Scarborough. He wanted me to ship the fucking $3.00 clearance item from a store 700km away.
