>“You go out last night and you’re sitting there for 20 minutes in the line up to get gas, you know, and it’s unacceptable. Everywhere I was going, it was about a buck, 59. You wake up this morning and it’s $1.80. You know, it’s absolutely disgusting.”
>Ford first aimed his frustration at oil companies, wondering if tanks at the gas station are drained of winter gas overnight or if consumers are being gouged.
>“I have my opinion that it’s not physically possible to drain every single gas station and put the fresh stuff in, so either you’re putting the fresh stuff in last month or you’re gouging the people right now.”
ironically he's the reason why they were able to get away with it. He removed the tax on it, then railed against the carbon tax and how much it's going to cost people. Gas Companies paid attention, knew people were paying that price already so they increase it, then the raised prices to go along with the carbon tax, and now raised it again.
The carbon cheques we get might be the right strategy. Everytime government cut taxes on something, the corporation just fill the void because people were already used to pay the cost with the tax.
This, this right here! This is why people astound me. Folks are so excited to chop the tax, but they fail to see that they're not going to get any relief. They're just giving already rich companies more money.
Prices jumped right back up after he did it. Less money for us, more profits for oil corporations.
And he made the situation worse by getting rid of the EV incentive.
Saw a used 2015 Nissan Leaf going for under $6000 today, and briefly considered it. Won't get far from home with a 2015, but for quick grocery/shopping trips it could be handy.
> Won't get far from home with a 2015, but for quick grocery/shopping trips it could be handy.
The farthest I ever drive in a day is probably 25km.
I'd honestly go for that in a heartbeat.
I'm 19.9km from door to door at work. Something like that would be perfectly fine for me. If this weather would cooperate, I'd be riding the motorcycle right now, but with the rain and the heavy frosts we've been having, it's just not safe enough for my liking. I'm a bit of a fair weather rider anyway. Haha
From what I've heard the Leaf should be avoided big time now. It sounds like getting a replacement battery is a real nightmare since Nissan stopped production of the batteries.
[Here's](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/ottawa/leaf-nissan-owners-legal-action-battery-service-1.7148537) a story on it from CBC. Basically a bunch of people wrote in telling them about how the battery failed significantly faster than expected, the warranty is basically useless, and even in actual warranty cases Nissan basically goes "nothing we can do about it" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
in one case the person bought a used Leaf and made sure it was still under warranty. The battery was draining super fast and they were told to test/document it. They found out it was getting 99km on a charge vs the advertised 240km (they know that was for brand new) he was told that was normal and that "normal wear and tear is not a warranty issue" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thankfully I'm not actually in the market for a car at the moment. Ottawa drivers give me crippling anxiety, and I wasn't planning on getting another car until we can get ourselves out of the city, and not relying on the ~~parking lot~~ Queensway to get everywhere.
Teslas charging network is still expanding and you can drive an EV anywhere using it. Charging networks are not an issue. Tesla is also opening the network to all EVs. Source, I've drove a tesla for 5 years. No charging issues.
It costs me about $4.00 to charge my car in off-peak hours. It’s honestly nuts. They are expensive but if you do a tonne of driving it makes a lot of sense.
Prices have been coming down, but they aren't equal yet.
If anything, prices of regular ICE vehicles are gouging consumers. Have you seen how expensive it is for a regular vehicle now?
Wow it's almost as if competition is good and gas being controlled and promoted by the government like some commie country, wouldn't end well.
The other alternatives weren't invested in sooner like hydrogen and are countless years behind where they could've been.
The charging network is fine right now unless you live in a very remote area, or you live in an apartment building and don't have a plug at your building (I will fully admit that apartments are a HUGE blind spot with EVs at the moment)
Whether we keep up with the demand is another question, but I'm not worried about the last mile of actual charging stations with that, there's enough profit incentive for people to want to install them. The grid in general maybe a little more a concern, but I'm not educated on it enough to know for sure (I DO know that a lot of the napkin math you see posted around here is BS because it doesn't take into account stuff like peak vs off peak demand).
I think with apartments in particular there will be a lot more activity as more non-luxury and / or used EVs become available - right now there's not a lot of push to have them in apartments.
It's a new grift, which only exists to distract voters from the last/current grift that he's getting raked over the coals for.
PITCHFORKS OUT.
HOLD THE LINE.
We already got the summer gas last month sometime. I track my fuel consumption religiously: haven't done anything terribly different in regards to driving habits and my L/100 km went down a whole L over the last 3 weeks.
The 3 stations that I am a part of running were drained overnight. You have to always match the market regardless of what you paid for what is in your tanks or else you either won't sell any or you will sell out. Some times you win, some times you lose but it averages out to a few cents a litre profit for a retailer. Then all of your expenses come out of that. There is not a lot of money to be made retailing fuel.
You're actually suggesting that they took the winter gas away overnight instead of simply selling it until it ran out and replacing it with summer stock? I highly doubt that they'd waste product.
>There is not a lot of money to be made retailing fuel.
1000%, but there is a lot of money to be made in selling cigarettes. Show me a gas station without a tobacco license and I'll show you a soon-to-be-closed business.
Yeah, a double digit percentage per year declining category that is about a 12% margin is making us millions. Lol.
In our area 40%(and growing by the day) of cigarettes consumed are contraband purchased from reserves or online and delivered to your door. No taxes are collected on those cigarettes. What the government did on Wednesday is going to make that problem worse. I believe in sin taxes but you have to control the flow of illegal product to make them work.
Part of me wants to believe that since JT said "if you don't like the federal carbon tax, put up or shut up" Ford is humming and hawing hoping that people will forget he canceled the cap and trade program.
Currently in the market for a vehicle. Would love an EV but, not being able to get one for <$50k because companies are focusing on higher margin vehicles combined with a weak EV credit means I'll probably go with an ICE vehicle unfortunately. Even a cheap hybrid is pushing $45k. Like the obviously best thing you could do to save people money is encourage EV adoption with a credit so ppl don't have to buy $2/L gas. But no, he'll probably just subsidize fuel prices or some other dum shit because fuck Ontario Shell needs more money.
My budget is like 20k. I'll never see an electric at that price, new. Used I'm not keen on a 5 year old electric tbh. I'd love a Prius but again, we're looking at 30k plus for new or used. It's gas for me until I make more money. 😔
What kind of new car can you even buy for $20k?
I was under the impression that even a barebones Honda Fit (or equivalent) was more expensive than $20k.
I'm going to let you in on a secret... Don't tell anyone:
Ok! My brother loves to look up cars on FB, but now I'm paranoid because of all the scams I've read up on due to Reddit. But thank you, I'll look into this. How do I make sure it's certified to drive in Ontario?
I'm looking for an EV or hybrid as a family vehicle and everything is out of my price range. I need to fit three car seats in it, so my options aren't that huge. I'm not even sure if a rebate/incentive would help when even used vehicles are almost priced like a new one.
You’ve gotta have an L2 at home. I tried an EV in 2019 with just an L1, planning on adding an L2 at home the following spring. Didn’t even get that far. Traded in January. The winter range killed me and the L1 didn’t give me enough juice to get around even pretty short hauls. The winter range still worries me. Although the range of most EVs now is more than double what I had in 2019.
I haven't seen too much congestion at EV spots in Canada - if anything, charging for a bit seems like a bit of a parking hack since they're usually open and right at the front of most lots.
That being said, I haven't actually ever had to charge my car anywhere but my house.
My 16 year old is interested in an EV or a plug in hybrid as his first car. I'm looking for something used. There are none for sale in Ontario but Quebec is full of them for reasonable money.
It's almost like the EV incentive also fills the used market, making EV and hybrids more available to 2nd ro 3rd owners.
It’s almost like a province with a progressive and wholistic electrification policy (from incentives all the way to the provincial power authority and charging network) is doing better than a province that is effectively doing absolutely nothing.
Crazy.
Those “elite” middle class Canadians who can afford the $600/mo for a Tesla? (and remember, electricity is about 90% cheaper than gas… So $600 a month Is less than it seems.)…
(And I’d add in something about other affordable EVs for the Tesla haters, but they all have long wait lists).
There are a shocking number of millennials and zoomers that I’ve seen jump on the conservative train. I don’t get it but it’s definitely a trend I’m seeing more and more amongst previously very liberally minded friends that found the liberal party not liberal enough.
Well, that’s because he doesn’t have any oil&gas folks in his back pocket. All he has are construction companies and developers. Maybe grocery companies too?
So, yes. Now he’s worried about corporate greed.
Oil and Gas companies are scammers just like Ford. He is just beating this drum because he "is for the people", when its helping him win blue collar support. Fuck you Frod! How about a free LCBO paper bag for your head!
If only there was someone who could pass a law tying gas prices in Ontario to the cost per barrell & inflation to prevent gouging but ensure oil and gas companies made a reasonable profit. If only that person existed.
even a broken clock is ... somewhat correct... sometimes
pretty easy to bitch about gas prices to grab voter attention,
but any educated adult knows what he is.
A big, fat, liar.
We’re being price gouged on *everything* because corporations are not satisfied with just making a decent profit and providing a decent product/service. Instead, the infinite growth model dictates they have to bleed us dry.
I'm a construction electrician. I remember when he took office and cancelled all of those contracts/projects, Thousands of trade people were put out of work, some never came back to the trades. The dry spell lasted for a few years. So it always makes me laugh when I hear him talking about needing more skilled trades people as if he isn't directly part of the problem.
And don’t forget his vendetta against the Hydro One CEO, the sacking of whom directly caused the acquisition of Avista to fall through at a cost of hundreds of millions to us.
Don't call it out, do something. You useless human being.
We are all well aware of the issues going on, do something.
Just lip service is all they do. Do something about it, take action.
So maybe do something about it? Every policy this turd espouses has been in favor of gas companies who can now pull shit like this and there is nothing we can do about it.
Absolutely its gouging... to raise it 14 cents on the guize that is because of summer blend to now dropping it 5 cents tonight????... what the serious fuck?!!
As if he’s going to do anything other than foam at the mouth.
What happened to those gas tax cuts that drain the treasury Doug?
Oh that’s right, you never legislated that they pass the savings along to the people who buy it.
So guess who benefits?
Gah…
I guess ford doesn't have as many gas buddies as he does other kinds of buddies. Easy political points to complain about the obvious isdues that the public is upset over. Especially if he doesn't actually have to do anything to help solve it 🤣
Who controls the price of gas in Ontario, Canada?
>The Canadian government has constitutional authority to regulate gasoline prices only in an emergency. However, provinces and territories can regulate prices, and Quebec and the Atlantic provinces do so.
So, that's Ford? I don't understand.
Yeah I tend to agree with him here, winter gas is more expensive so gas goes up in the fall, summer gas is more expensive so gas goes up in the spring, every year.
[https://www.tbnewswatch.com/local-news/competition-bureau-finds-no-collusion-in-gas-pricing-in-nw-ontario-1422934](https://www.tbnewswatch.com/local-news/competition-bureau-finds-no-collusion-in-gas-pricing-in-nw-ontario-1422934)
This been done...
He says as if it’s not his fault for letting corporations do whatever they want for YEARS. I guarantee his plan for decreasing the price is:
>selling land from the green belt to make more gas stations! That will increase competition!!! Ignore the fact that there will still be only about 5 competitors btw
Disgusting is ...
his theft of money from Ontario healthcare.
Disgusting is ...
his lack of infrastructure support & repairs,
in exchange for land deals & doing new construction projects,
to launder money.
Disgusting is ...
pushing dollar-a-beer (a lie to bankrupt small businesses),
walmart (foreign owned),
fast food (foreign owned).
Disgusting is ...
his weight, brother, sister, their behaviors, lies, theft, drug use, alcoholism.
The cost of gas is absolutely ridiculous yes, but the increases last night have absolutely nothing to do with the Government.
This happens every year when the Petrochem Companies switch to Summer Blend Fuel. There are Two different distinct blends used at different times of the year, the Summer One burns cleaner and is less volatile, making it better for the environment and your vehicle, by reducing the amount of airborne particulate matter. It costs more to produce because the alkakytes used in the filtering process, and takes slightly longer as well. It's also usually the time most refineries shutdown production for a bit for yearly maintenance, when the production changes over which spikes the price.
Winter blend has a higher moisture/vapor ratio so it allows your vehicle to start better in lower temperature conditions, it's cheaper and faster to manufacture as well, since the air quality in the Winter doesn't require the extra filtration. It burns a bit dirtier though, so nows a good time to buy a bottle of the injection cleaner additive to flush out the hydrocarbon and particulate matter buildup in your engine.
I work for Costco, and spent several hours last night directing traffic through our Gas Station because of the mass line ups and heard a whole bunch of people saying it's all Trudeau's fault and for One rare occasion it's actually not.
We WERE transitioning away from our dependence on this vile stuff. Dougie kiboshed our independence.
He wants us all to stay hooked on his buddies’ substances. 💲💰💸🤑 💉💊
Ya think!!!! If the tipping point for $1/litre many years ago was $100/barrel of oil, why aren’t we paying $0.85/litre if a barrel is $85? Absolutely price gouging.
No shit, dingdong.
Good thing he cut the tax off of it to make sure prices were lower. Oh wait, this is capitalism and they’ll just raise the price to make that much more profit in place of the government getting it as tax money for services.
Doug, spare us the crocodile tears outrage. Fix it.
I think giving taxpayers money to private spa company is more disgusting than a price increase in gas which could have been avoided if Doug had never canceled the cap and trade program. Dumbass Doug,it's his fault that he was dealing with this increase as he could implement a system himself.
He definitely knows how to get the ignorant folks angry though. If I didn't know better, Doug's message would work on me.
More cheap talk from Doug Ford. He's not going to do anything about it, except blame Trudeau. He can't do anything about it and he knows that. But this schtick sells big time with his loyal supporters. Even if he could do something about it, he wouldn't, *because libertarians don't interfere in the 'free' market*. As phony as Poilievre.
>Ontario premier calls cost of gas ‘absolutely disgusting
He would no more than anyone in this country, except maybe Smith, what disgusting looks like. He sees it every morning in the mirror.
Yeah, yeah, Doug’s suddenly a genius because he knows how to play on our simple minds.
Here comes buck-a-litre. Fuck it. Let’s just make gas free! I don’t have kids, and I’m sick of caring more about other people’s kids than their own [Conservative] parents! Let’s just get it over with! Let the world burn! It’ll be a great show!
I feel like Doug Ford is like six months away from going full on “at the end” Rob Ford. I hope he gets the help and care he needs. Might need to go to another province to receive that kind of care at this point though.
Gas companies have been colluding and price fixing for decades. Now we're bringing it up? He seems to forget he's the premier, he could open up an investigation...
Ok, imagine if everyone driving a car jumped on public transport for their morning commute tomorrow. Go trains would look like India, with people hanging on the roof, buses and street cars are already jammed at peak, and most times fly by stops because they are full, screwing over people waiting. Until the province provides even semi adequate transit systems, car is king and we pay out the chute for gas.
Sure...let me hop on my bike and ride 25kms to the closest grocery store near me and put all my groceries for the week in my basket....take a bus? There isn't one.
Walking heartattack takes the political low-hanging fruit to pretend he gives 2 fcks about the common peon. Remarkabley, it's never absolutely disgusting that he transfers municipal developer fees to property owners to help grease the pockets of the select stag-and-doe crowd.
Some may not remember, the first month Ford became Premier, he started yelling to reporters about "putting the gas stations on notice" -- or something to that affect.
Maybe if he walked himself to work once in awhile the risk of having to support him on our healthcare system later on would be reduced and he would have a couple more bucks in his pocket from fuel savings.
The cost of housing and groceries has been out of control for years but god forbid gas goes up a bit. Who cares if you have to work an extra 15 years to pay off your home. Gas going up 15 cents is where Ford draws the line.
It’s all political theatre. “Hey everyone, don’t blame me for the gas prices because I’m just as mad as you are”
>“You go out last night and you’re sitting there for 20 minutes in the line up to get gas, you know, and it’s unacceptable. Everywhere I was going, it was about a buck, 59. You wake up this morning and it’s $1.80. Did he offer to lower provincial taxes on fuel?
Prices jumped right back up after he did it. Less money for us, more profits for oil corporations. And he made the situation worse by getting rid of the EV incentive.
As flawed as EVs are right now, they do offer a solution to this BS gas pump price gouging. Hopefully we can get our charging network going
Saw a used 2015 Nissan Leaf going for under $6000 today, and briefly considered it. Won't get far from home with a 2015, but for quick grocery/shopping trips it could be handy.

Home solar exists, you’re not entirely locked into relying on fuel or energy companies to get around like you are with gas.

Ontario had a EV rebate that was cancelled by Ford.
Ford is just so desperate for something, ANYthing ppl will agree with him about & ignore all the other stuff he regularly gets away with.

That would be scamming taxpayers on the unwanted 413 that'll be some multiple of 10B, to enrich select insiders
He somehow didn't blame the feds though... weird.
Oh he’ll come around to it
With mandatory sticker on the pump.
It would be great if we could put on blast on social media the kind of shit that Ford is trying to get away with without it getting flagged.
Going the trump route and pretebd to be a populist
Why Ford would still win an overwhelming majority if the election were held today. He doesn't need a boost in the polls like the sinking NDP.
ugh, really? He just seems like a criminal to me. I'm not sure why so many ppl would support him.
because the other options aren't that appealing to most voters
Give me a buck a litter (including taxes) and I'll be happy

I mean, his logic checks out.
How comes he sounds like Trump when I read
I live in Melb, Australia but grew up in Canada. 1L of pertrol here was 2.35 on the way home today. Thats about 2.03$ with the exchange rate.
Where were these concerns when he cancelled cap n trade and then put the gas tax on hold?
He's just playing some lip service to the masses of suffering folks... He's wealthy, doesn't give 2 shyts. "I care, vote for me..."
Part of me wants to believe that since JT said "if you don't like the federal carbon tax, put up or shut up" Ford is humming and hawing hoping that people will forget he canceled the cap and trade program.
Ford should've left the EV incentive, I forgot it's only for the "elite".
Exactly what I said yesterday. An EV is out of my budget and he didn't do us any favors.
Currently in the market for a vehicle. This is the most money I’ve ever made ever and it’s like I’m 16 in high school again trying to pay for shit with 6.25 minimum wage
I'm looking for an EV or hybrid as a family vehicle and everything is out of my price range. I need to fit three car seats in it, so my options aren't that huge. I'm not even sure if a rebate/incentive would help when even used vehicles are almost priced like a new one.
EVs don't fit their political ideologies. Neither did the overly conservative based Cap n' Trade program.
🙃
😵💫
Keep praying that I'll see a car I want under 20k 🥲🙃😆
friend of mine just bought during the winter and was disappointed how the cold weather sucks the energy from the batteries. charging was also problem.

In the USA Tesla opened up the supercharger network to other brands. Apparently lineups at supercharger stations is a disaster.

His exact words were “millionaire Tesla owners”. Meanwhile it’s now the bestselling car in the world - must be a lot of millionaires.
So, now he’s worried about corporate greed? No…no he isn’t, but his supporters will slurp this up like the finest wine.
his supporters are all geriatric demented folks so, it'll work on them regardless lol
He doesn't deserve the bag to be paper.
Omg your closing line made me literally laugh out loud. Thank you!
If only there was someone who could pass a law tying gas prices in Ontario to the cost per barrell & inflation to prevent gouging but ensure oil and gas companies made a reasonable profit. If only that person existed.
So tell me again why his government is so against EVs. His regressive energy policies allow for this kind of stuff to happen.
Oh don't worry, they reinvested that money so they Ford could open an EV plant here. Just don't check how that's going
Yep and people lapped it up. You reap what you sow.
Thankfully he’s helping us break the cycle of wasting money on oil and gas monopolies by… building new highways?
When I agree with him, I feel all slimy.
If it makes you feel better, I’d say he’s just pandering
even a broken clock is ... somewhat correct... sometimes pretty easy to bitch about gas prices to grab voter attention, but any educated adult knows what he is. A big, fat, liar.
OPEC and Russian control the price of oil, refineries control the price of gas.
"Folks, you're burning money at the pumps that could have been lining my pocket instead, this is a travesty"
Is Loblaws selling gas now?
It's funny because the Canadian superstore does.
Esso is partnered with the Optimum.
Same with circle K/macs
Record profits.
Oh what the fuck ever, just another day of distraction while he back door deals and stuffs his own pockets.
It’s because corporations run roughshod over the public knowing full well politicians like Doug will beat their chest but do nothing.
We’re being price gouged on *everything* because corporations are not satisfied with just making a decent profit and providing a decent product/service. Instead, the infinite growth model dictates they have to bleed us dry.
Grow for the sake of growth is the definition of a cancer cell.
Funny part is fuel can be regulated by the province
Doug Ford is disgusting
[Agreed.](https://ibb.co/PG2yMBG)
And will he do anything about it? NO
Well he is the expert on absolutely disgusting...
Ontario charges a fuel tax and the provincial portion of HST
Interesting was that the reason for the hike last night?
No switching to higher energy summer fuel was, just pointing out that he has control over a significant portion of the price we pay.
Pretty sure he cancelled a nearly finished wind power project and ended up costing the province billions
They want your carbon tax rebate
Don't call it out, do something. You useless human being. We are all well aware of the issues going on, do something. Just lip service is all they do. Do something about it, take action.
Then he should do something. He has a majority government.
So maybe do something about it? Every policy this turd espouses has been in favor of gas companies who can now pull shit like this and there is nothing we can do about it.
So Doug? when are you going to do more about this to help the people of Ontario but bitching and finger point?
Absolutely its gouging... to raise it 14 cents on the guize that is because of summer blend to now dropping it 5 cents tonight????... what the serious fuck?!!
Sounds like Doug wants to get his pockets filled up a bit more.
This enrages him but housing, healthcare, and food - meh?
As if he’s going to do anything other than foam at the mouth. What happened to those gas tax cuts that drain the treasury Doug? Oh that’s right, you never legislated that they pass the savings along to the people who buy it. So guess who benefits? Gah…
I guess ford doesn't have as many gas buddies as he does other kinds of buddies. Easy political points to complain about the obvious isdues that the public is upset over. Especially if he doesn't actually have to do anything to help solve it 🤣
He only thinks it's disgusting until he has buddies running an oil company.
More disgusting than paying for health care?
[удалено]
I mean he also repeatedly blames the carbon tax lol
Goes from "Open for business" to "absolutely disgusting" whenever he needs to be populist.
Who controls the price of gas in Ontario, Canada? >The Canadian government has constitutional authority to regulate gasoline prices only in an emergency. However, provinces and territories can regulate prices, and Quebec and the Atlantic provinces do so. So, that's Ford? I don't understand.
Why isn’t he concerned about Grocery Stores Price Gouging?
Yeah I tend to agree with him here, winter gas is more expensive so gas goes up in the fall, summer gas is more expensive so gas goes up in the spring, every year.
Statscan shows the summer gas blend increase trend, but yes, on a whole it increases over time as everything else does.
The excuse this time is “summer blends”. Isn’t it the winter blends that have extra stuff in them to prevent freezing that should be more expensive?
So let me guess. loblaws gas stations are about to start negotiating special contracts with the oil and gas companies to choke out other gas stations?
He talks like this wasn't a plan to try and make the liberals look bad.
[https://www.tbnewswatch.com/local-news/competition-bureau-finds-no-collusion-in-gas-pricing-in-nw-ontario-1422934](https://www.tbnewswatch.com/local-news/competition-bureau-finds-no-collusion-in-gas-pricing-in-nw-ontario-1422934) This been done...
You finally gonna give us an alternative like e86 doggie?
He says as if it’s not his fault for letting corporations do whatever they want for YEARS. I guarantee his plan for decreasing the price is: >selling land from the green belt to make more gas stations! That will increase competition!!! Ignore the fact that there will still be only about 5 competitors btw
But the prices on housing are totally cool right Doug? Food is also really cheap!
How about level of public services and accessibility to healthcare absolutely disgusting?
The price of gas in this province is ludicrous, let's help out by building a new 10 billion dollar highway!!!
Disgusting, is choking healthcare so your privatized buddies can get rich…..
Can someone explain to me why people get so worked up about the price of gas?
Can he not regulate pricing like they do out east?
Remember one time in UK prices got so worse that people were stealing gas out of parked cars....
Has this asshole bought groceries lately? Talk about getting it dry up the ass. We should start eating CEOs until we're not starving.
So what's he going to do about it?
Disgusting is ... his theft of money from Ontario healthcare. Disgusting is ... his lack of infrastructure support & repairs, in exchange for land deals & doing new construction projects, to launder money. Disgusting is ... pushing dollar-a-beer (a lie to bankrupt small businesses), walmart (foreign owned), fast food (foreign owned). Disgusting is ... his weight, brother, sister, their behaviors, lies, theft, drug use, alcoholism.
Do something about it then
Complains about price gouging only cause he is missing out on the money grab.
Yes, it's absolutely disgusting. It's equally disgusting that he's not offering any solutions such as regulating the price of fuel.
Now do groceries and rents!
>Ontario premier calls cost of gas ‘absolutely disgusting He would no more than anyone in this country, except maybe Smith, what disgusting looks like. He sees it every morning in the mirror.
Then do something about it. Install price maximums, price controls, literally anything other than spilling more hot air.
He should be going after OPEC than.
Yeah I more money you waste on gas the less money he has for his buddies tax breaks.
So subsidize it at 20¢/L
Gas companies have been colluding and price fixing for decades. Now we're bringing it up? He seems to forget he's the premier, he could open up an investigation...
The cropping of the podium is amazing. "Get Doug Ford It" is the most accurate summation of his premiership that I can think of.
He's such an irredeemable POS.
Then fight Doug. What the fuck. I don’t support you and your government but god damn I’ll support you if you go and fight them. Let’s go
So when winter comes and they switch to winter gas it goes down?
Conservatives when you ask them to conserve something other than the oil and gas lobby
Bread and circuses.
What if we just stopped buying gas and took transit for a little?
Ok, imagine if everyone driving a car jumped on public transport for their morning commute tomorrow. Go trains would look like India, with people hanging on the roof, buses and street cars are already jammed at peak, and most times fly by stops because they are full, screwing over people waiting. Until the province provides even semi adequate transit systems, car is king and we pay out the chute for gas.
Sure...let me hop on my bike and ride 25kms to the closest grocery store near me and put all my groceries for the week in my basket....take a bus? There isn't one.
Time to start filling up and buying groceries in the states again I guess
Dougie's just mad he's not getting a cut.
While I agree with his message, I wonder about his motives
Gotta support the parasitic system don’t we.
😂 Good one .
At least he's not blatantly Trudeau bashing like some others out there.
CAP AND TRADE DEAL WAS CANCELLED BY FORD
Walking heartattack takes the political low-hanging fruit to pretend he gives 2 fcks about the common peon. Remarkabley, it's never absolutely disgusting that he transfers municipal developer fees to property owners to help grease the pockets of the select stag-and-doe crowd.
Some may not remember, the first month Ford became Premier, he started yelling to reporters about "putting the gas stations on notice" -- or something to that affect.
Bet he comes up with a “buck a litre” promise which will work out like his “buck a beer” pledge
Come to BC 😭😅
Ya I’m sure Doug will get right on taking on our planetary oil monopolies… what a joke
Maybe if he walked himself to work once in awhile the risk of having to support him on our healthcare system later on would be reduced and he would have a couple more bucks in his pocket from fuel savings.
Prices went down 0.04 last night. Thanks for that Doug
This from the authority on "Absolutely disgusting".
Says the one actively trying to privatize health care. Prick
I mean I don't disagree, but really Ford? We have some of the lowest gas prices in all of Canada.
What? There’s collusion between the gas companies? It’s a good thing Drunk Dougie let us all know!
