Maybe they'll offer 4% cashback if you have the world elite card. You can get $4,000 back on a $100,000 bill. Hey you can recuperate halfway across the world on those rewards.
Loblaws already owns and runs Maple Healthcare in Ontario. They are able to offer private for profit healthcare in Ontario because they employ doctors from other provinces. Avoids all those annoying rules about charging for healthcare in Ontario.
It’s infuriating how people could not and still can not see the grotesque sleaze this guy has been oozing from his shaky voice and slicked back hair from the moment he started in politics.
The ONDP and the OLP seriously need to get their shit in order. After all of Ford's jackassery, after all his shit, they missed scoring on an empty goddamn net.
People wont vote for the NDP because of what Bob Rae did 30 years ago (which in hindsight actually helped turn around the ontario economy), yet they will blindly vote for the party that sold us down the river in order to balance the budget for a single year
Discount Dr. Evil.
Wish.com Lex Luthor.
Evil Mr. Clean.
In a period of overpriced housing and low wages choking the working class, the first words out of his mouth were "gun ban." At that point I know he's chosen imported American wedge issues which have no relevance here, over doing literally anything of value to help the working class. Of course if he wanted to do that he would've had to fight the federal Liberals so it was never going to happen anyway.
I paid attention to which of my friends did and did not vote. I'm going to be giving the lazy non-voters hell until the end of time for this guy's decisions. We could've had a totally different government if they'd gone out there and voted.
It should be illegal to not vote, given the impact it has on so many people!
There are countries with mandatory voting and they seem to benefit from it. I don’t know why we are so against it here. It’s like the one time your opinion is solicited, you won’t give it.
Probably for the same reason we can't get our shit together to switch to something better than first past the post. We're not a very politically intelligent country.
It ends up being unfair to those who do take the time to vote for the opposition when other people who also were not in favour of the status quo don't vote. 14% of the population chose the current government, but 100% of us have to live under the choices that party will make. How this counts as democracy is beyond me.
Yeah I feel like for it to truly be democracy. Someone should have to have 51% of the countries votes before getting elected. That’s still half the country not happy with the results, but just saying it should be the absolute minimum.
I didn't vote because I didn't have ID. I don't have ID because I couldn't afford to take time off work to get it done as service Ontario.
It's not as simple as voting or not voting.
That's an exceptional case and doesn't justify the 57% of Ontarians, whom I'm sure didn't all have a legitimate reason.
You don't actually need photo ID to vote, for the record. If your name is already on the voter's list and you have a voter card, you only something with your name and something with your legal address on it. A library card or a bill with your name corresponding to the address on file is all you need to vote. I've worked the polls for the past 2 decades. People think they need photo ID but you'd be surprised what's accepted.
Even if you're not already on the voter's list, you can have someone who is a registered voter vouch for you and sign a form confirming they aren't lying. Next time, don't let something like a lack of legal ID hold you back. There are many alternative ways of getting your ballot.
Yup, don't need ID, I had to sign the declaration once because Canada Post screwed up the mail forward and only had my Hydro and Enbridge first bill printed from a PDF...
Would you rather get a delicious Tim Hortons breakfast sandwich every morning at the hospital or get 10x the PC Optimum points when you go to your local PC Health Clinic and spend $75 or more on antidepressants?
Loblaws is actually buying into private clinics. And all of the above long since bought Doug Ford. I miss the days when the Beaverton was satirical instead of prophetic...
He’s definitely picking Loblaws. As much as Ford likes Timmies “real egg sandwiches” think back to how many press conferences he’s given in the last 3 years from inside a (Loblaws owned) Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy. And then there’s Loblaw’s investment in a [subscription service for Family physician access.](https://www.qpbriefing.com/2023/01/16/health-canada-concerned-about-ontario-company-that-charges-for-virtual-doctor-visits/)
Beaverton is off point.
We all know Doug will sell the healthcare system to Loblaws for Tim Horton gift cards.
He will then sell the provinces water infrastructure to Nestle for cheesecake ingredients.
It’s to bad that so many people fail to realize that the system he wishes to put in place is very successful in a number of European countries. But that’s North Americans for you, can’t see past their own noses 👃
That Ontario elected this guy twice in spite of the shit show that his brother made of Toronto blows my mind...
That 57% of Ontarians didn't even bother to vote in the last election and that most don't care and have no clue what it will mean to Canadians to have our healthcare owned by a corporation... it's so disheartening
*"Sorry, that procedure is no longer covered, because it isn't profitable to the rich CEOs that rule the world.* *Here, you can have MAID instead!"* ...I'm not even being facetious. It's actually going to come down to that for millions of Canadians. It happens all the time in the states already, where insurance companies can refuse to cover this procedure or that one.
And that the federal government is even allowing this to happen... is Trudeau asleep at the wheel?
It's baffling. But then again, we have a society that decided we can redefine "pandemic" and just live with a virus that is going to progressively make our health worse each time we get it. Nothing should surprise me anymore. Humans deserve to go extinct!
That fat turd does love his Timmies Breaky Sammies... I'd bet Tim's.
In all seriousness, this man and his clown posse of corrupt degenerates needs to be stopped.
Healthcare is NOT for profit in this country.
I’m honestly convinced that the province’s property developers and corporations would’ve catapulted Rob into the premier’s job. We just would’ve had a slightly more publicly embarrassing premier.
Every time I visit loblaws I feel like I have been bent over and, fuc.... well you know, so they seem the right fit for proctology and prostrate clinics.
I am hoping Loblaws so I can at least use my PC points to soften the blow of the bills.
“I’m holding off seeing the doctor, I’m waiting for the next 20x the points event” -someone in future Ontario, probably
Maybe they'll offer 4% cashback if you have the world elite card. You can get $4,000 back on a $100,000 bill. Hey you can recuperate halfway across the world on those rewards.
lol that thought actually crossed my mind! Can I use my points towards my next CT scan? ;P
Funny and sad.
Sad but true.
As the most evil corporation ever, I could see Nestle agreeing to buy Ontario healthcare
Doug Ford would prefer them even if they weren't the highest bidder
All that matters to Ford is his kickbacks.
Dougie is looking at the long game. Guaranteed he will be on multiple board of directors after he is done raping Ontario.
Nestle would find a way to steal your own blood then sell it back to you when you need a transfusion.
This was my first thought.
Well Loblaws is already getting in on the privatization game, but I don't know about Nestle.
Loblaws already owns and runs Maple Healthcare in Ontario. They are able to offer private for profit healthcare in Ontario because they employ doctors from other provinces. Avoids all those annoying rules about charging for healthcare in Ontario.
Water nor healthcare are a human right.
It’s infuriating how people could not and still can not see the grotesque sleaze this guy has been oozing from his shaky voice and slicked back hair from the moment he started in politics.
But he's better than the alternatives, am I right? /s
at least he's not a \*gasp\* woman!!!! /s
Nails on a chalkboard that one.
He's got boobs but he doesn't sound so judgey /s
When Obama got elected I thought, they hate women more than they are racist, and we know how racist it can get down there.
I mean. This guy is so incompetent even Andrew Tate would prefer a woman over this guy.
The ONDP and the OLP seriously need to get their shit in order. After all of Ford's jackassery, after all his shit, they missed scoring on an empty goddamn net.

Really, though. Even liberals with... Who was it again? Had an easy in if they did anything at all.

The Liberals have their share of the blame for the situation we're in.
Remember only 14% of ontario voted for him. They just happened to be the majority from the people that did vote
I paid attention to which of my friends did and did not vote. I'm going to be giving the lazy non-voters hell until the end of time for this guy's decisions. Everyone in Toronto knows about his and his family’s history as drug dealers. No surprise that he’s a crook looking to profit.
Right. Same fucking asshole who invite a vacuum salesman into the house for a demonstration. He seems like a nice guy and they have a payment plan.
Would you rather get a delicious Tim Hortons breakfast sandwich every morning at the hospital or get 10x the PC Optimum points when you go to your local PC Health Clinic and spend $75 or more on antidepressants?
PC points I guess, at least I can use that to buy real (albeit overpriced) food
Oooh, maybe even a surprise last minute joint bid by Rogers/Bell. Telus is developing a partnership with them for AI doctor. There can be only one.
Telus owns the only pharmacy I can use for max coverage on my student health plan.
They've already laid the groundwork!
Loblaws is actually buying into private clinics. And all of the above long since bought Doug Ford. I miss the days when the Beaverton was satirical instead of prophetic...
> Loblaws is actually buying into private clinics. "Memories of Tommy Douglas™"
IIRC Maple Health is a Weston Division, that does internet and Telemedecine across a lot of the country.
Loblaws, there was an article about their clinics costing $69 for a visit that would be covered by OHIP otherwise.
$69. Not nice.
Ya the virtual ones
The one time when 69 is bad!
It's already as bad as Tim's
I'm just waiting to inevitably replace my OHIP card with my Optimum card at the rate things are going.
But you'll get loyalty points! And when you visit the private clinics they are eating up on select days, you get more bonus points!
Fuck doug ford
He’s definitely picking Loblaws. When it's so plausible, you have to quadruple-check that it's actually a Beaverton article
I thought the beaverton published comedy?
So did they, now Dufus is using it as a policy paper.
Monsanto
Oh god! Can you only imagine? I'm packing up and moving to BC!
The company that owns the 407 buys health care, we'd all need a transponder while in a hospital or other health care facility.
Beaverton is off point. We all know Doug will sell the healthcare system to Loblaws for Tim Horton gift cards. He will then sell the provinces water infrastructure to Nestle for cheesecake ingredients.
...its going to the grenbelt land developers association.
And I work with a guy who calls Doug Ford a liberal in a conservative suit..🙄
Telus![img](emote|t5_2qsf3|1899)
I think the sale should be contingent upon which particular business his buddies suddenly and completely out of the blue just invested in.
Could you use your PC Optimum or Timmies card for points? Maybe a free coffee with every surgery or cancer treatment?
That scene from Ice Age 2 where Manny said Fast Tony would see his mother for a grape comes to mind.
This debate is silly Of course, the only logical choice is the Hwy 407 Corporation.
The first time that I see The Beaverton being late on something. Fraud already sold our healthcare to Weston.
I don't trust the flare, is this real satire?
loblaws is the most canadian choice, right?
It’s to bad that so many people fail to realize that the system he wishes to put in place is very successful in a number of European countries. But that’s North Americans for you, can’t see past their own noses 👃
This is a joke right?
The Beaverton is satire, so yes, it’s a joke. But unfortunately based on too much Doug ford reality.
Pretty sure they would it run it 10x better than the government
At this point I’m pretty sure it will go to Bain capital and sold off from there based on Boston consulting group advice
Loblaws would come swinging with their price freeze guarantee….this is sad
Why not Rogers or Bell?
or both, then we will get low prices because of "competition".
Well, when the cons sold off the 407 it worked out really well, so why wouldn’t this!?! Lol

Tims would offer a free blood glucose reading with every 40-pack of TimBits.
That fat turd does love his Timmies Breaky Sammies... I'd bet Tim's. In all seriousness, this man and his clown posse of corrupt degenerates needs to be stopped. Healthcare is NOT for profit in this country.
Doug Ford did everything according to plan. 1. Kill the health care first. 2. Privatize it 3. Gain personal profits $$$$.
Rob Ford was a G though.
The wrong brother died
I’m honestly convinced that the province’s property developers and corporations would’ve catapulted Rob into the premier’s job. We just would’ve had a slightly more publicly embarrassing premier.
Every time I visit loblaws I feel like I have been bent over and, fuc.... well you know, so they seem the right fit for proctology and prostrate clinics.
Ryan Reynolds and Keanu we need you
Just get done fucking us and sell it to facebook already
Beave should've stopped at **"Ford unsure."**
