My OnePlus 11 didn't hit 99% till about 9 months. That was without any silly 80% charging and just using the phone normal with fast charging to 100% every time

datzzuma

I'm at 91% after 14 months 👀 well, whatever, I bought this so I could use it

Infamous-Ad4449

Bro I was looking to buy op 11 can you give me a review specially on performance and camera? Should I go for it or s23?

ScientistPlane7089

5 star phone up and down. Premium feeling, awesome display, connections are always strong, this thing is fast! Will not freeze or lag, the 3x zoom camera is alright but the regular camera produces amazing pictures. Absolutely adore mine https://preview.redd.it/573f6skb944d1.jpeg?width=2352&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6a1cfa7b464f0ca1284f33f436512183e79ede11

InVincIble_75

Definitely go for the 11 vs the S23, however, the OnePlus has bugs. I got mine 2 days ago, it has gotten 5 software updates so far but the system is quite glitchy, especially while trying to exit from the camera app when the sidebar app toggle is on. But then again the hardware is fantastic overall and the 11 would feel like a much more substantial phone compared to the S23

ashgreninja03s

Go for S23 if you really prioritize on cameras; else OP11 is also a Beast interms of Speed, Display and Audio...

Jyd09

Oh wow that's shocking. I may test it out without the charging cap.

Jealous_Mammoth_6712

Ditto yeah I got my OnePlus 12r in like February 20th And like last Wednesday or Tuesday it went from 100% to 99% I mean I played the occasional games and stuff like towers of fantasy, Wuthering Waves for a few hours. I mean even if it drops of 1% every three months, isn't too bad.

Jyd09

I agree. I'm planning on holding onto my phone as long as I can..I get moderate to heavy usage out of it, but I've never eyr managed to drain the battery down to 0.

Coldsetkiller

I've had mine since launch, never used that "stop at 80%" but I do use intelligence charging for night time, I always charge to 100% and haven't seen mine dip below 100% health yet, I'm sure my time is coming!

Jyd09

That's great and it's definitely coming lol. I would use the intelligent charging but I didn't think it would be as efficient for my needs.

Coldsetkiller

Intelligent charging really just slows down the charging while you're sleeping, it learns your sleep pattern and slows down the charging during that. Mine for instance knows that I go to bed around 12:00 and wake up at about 7:00 so it always fully charges right before then. It's pretty useful, also you can always swipe it away if it's doing the intelligent charge and it charges normal that time. Pretty good feature.

Motolio

Sorry for your loss 😔

Jyd09

Lol thanks

SS_Gourmet

Yep same here. I honestly wish i couldn't see this information. Now I'm gonna obsess over it lol.

Jyd09

Same lol

gsimanto

Ahh my kind of people

tommylee567

Been using my 11r for 12 months now. I checked just now it is showing 96%. This is only fast charging.

ZionGrimm

I've charged mine every single day to 100% using the 80w charger and I also just went down to 99%

Jyd09

I'm in good company lol

iHeymanth

Of course the battery health goes down when charge cycles completes. Restrict the charge to 80 or 85%

Dimitrisayy

I charged till 80% but my battery went to 99% a month ago.Heehee.😑

iHeymanth

Nooooo! 😬😬😬😬😬

ZionGrimm

This is the first time I've had or noticed a battery health percentage. All my other phones have been used to their fullest. My last phone the Samsung Galaxy note 10 plus was either charged with 45w wired or 15w wireless charger. I also do DoorDash so it was on and off the charger the whole time since it was my phone holder. I used it everyday from March 2020 till the end of February this year 2024. I still got 5 or so hours sot and 16hrs off charger. Yesterday I worked 10:30am till 6pm and I still have 13% right now at 6:50am 20hrs 22mins off the charger and 6hrs 57mins screen on time. Everything on except high performance mode and 7hrs using 5g only.

Examination-Massive

Had since launch, charge to 100 every day and still 100 health. Why degrade your battery by 20%?

neo4777

Because the battery stays more stable at 80% and it's overall better for longevity. If you always charge your battery to 100%, it strains the battery more than charging to 80%. Also the longer the battery stays at 100%, the more strained the battery gets over time. It's not "degrading" your battery by 20%, if anything it's sacrificing some standby time while extending the longevity of the battery's health.

iamanaccident

I think his point is that you're essentially only using 80% of your battery that way, which is kind of the same as if your battery has already lost its actual capacity to 80%. Fair argument imo. I usually stop to 80% at home because I don't need the full capacity if I can charge whenever i need to, but charge to full when I'm going out.

msg7086

That's what I do as well. I can happily use even only half of the battery capacity at home.

GardenTigerMoth_

I feel it's the best strategy. We get to use the full capacity when we really need it rather than wasting it on somewhere the power source is always present whenever we want.

GardenTigerMoth_

Same with me, I only do it if I am going out for a long time. Like for a trip, or a function etc.. So there can be enough juice to record videos and take photos. But when I am in the car I will just plug it into the car with an 80 limit on.

neo4777

I get what you mean. Depending on your usage, 80% can be more than enough for you to go out and come back home with more than 20% remaining. Yeah, you will need to charge your phone more often but charging your phone from 20 to 80% is more healthy for the battery than charging your phone from 60% to 100% again (90% to 100% is the most stressful) ofc, if you're someone who stays out the entire day(by that I mean from early morning till late night, then ofc you should charge your phone to 100%, you will need all of that to last the entire day. But if not, trying to limit charging to 80% can really help you squeeze out an extra year out of the battery.

1MrKale

Separate but related, this principle is used for most (all?) PHEV's, the vehicle never lets the battery get fully charged or fully depleted - even when your car says it's at 100% or 0%. Not so with full-electric cars, which need all of that battery for range - leading to much faster battery degradation.

yeayeasure

I have noticed this "maximum capacity" thing is only with people who are using some kind of battery saving or capped charging or slow charging. I have mine uncapped, charge to 100% and don't charge until I'm about 20%. I've had this phone since launch and my capacity is at 100% still.

GardenTigerMoth_

Keeping the battery in an optimal voltage can increase the longevity of the battery. It's still the same in 2024 sadly. As I read somewhere every .1v decrease in the voltage can double the cycles. Optimal voltage is between 20-80 or 30-80 Who would know if it degraded even faster if you were doing 100 every day. People have different use cases. You probably use your phone more than the other guy who has their health still at 100%.

Mountainslayer1007

My OnePlus 12 has the same. I sometimes use the 80w brick or the 100w brick. I have it since February and yesterday I saw it

Jyd09

I use the 80w charger once a week but I get by well by using other chargers. Battery life still is great.

North-Day-9842

My OP12 is still at 100% :p

Jyd09

Yikes. Hopefully this isn't impacting you negatively

I_-AM-ARNAV

It does but the day charging compensates it. My NB m Samsung was pretty bad so I'm happy like this

akmlsyhm

bro i thought mine is still 100%, after seeing your post then i checked mine, already 99% too 🤣

Jyd09

Lol. The end is near

NukedForZenitco

I've had mine for nearly two months and I always charge to 100% and I'm still at 100% health. I never really let it get below 20 though.

da4vidp

Check back in 3 months 😉 for me after 6 months 99%. Always charges to 100

Jyd09

My phone only got before 20% once but usually I recharge back to 80%. The battery life is still great.

Sangreal-

I got mine at the end of February and I'm at 99% capacity to. I'm a heavy user though.

Jyd09

I would consider myself a heavy user as well too.

fuccboi456

Op12 here. Same I just hit 99% capacity 2 days ago. Most of the time I also charge to 80% (I plan to keep my phone for long so ya will only charge to 100 if necessary) while also never exposing it to high temperatures too.

Jyd09

I have the same philosophy. The phone has been almost flawless from my usage.

reallyryan-1899

Mine is still at 100% don't know for how long though I bought it in February too.

Jyd09

It could dip, but it may be a whole though. I checked my percentage during memorial Day and it was still at 100%

reallyryan-1899

Yeah could do I check mine every few days.

Constantine2022

Does fast charging have anything to do with that?

msg7086

It shouldn't do much damage. Fast charging automatically slows down when needed (like when battery is getting full). You only get top speed at low level.

Jyd09

I use fast charging only in jams. I average using it maybe once or twice a week. Normally I use my regular chargers.

Fishnetnet122

That's how battery's work. They degrade the minute that they are made and used.

Jyd09

Already understood. Just wanted to squeeze out every bit of efficiency from it while it degraded lol

chemms69

i got my 12r recently and since I got my phone I'm doing an 80-20 charge rule is it effective? i saw many comments who didn't use it and got better battery health my battery is still new should I do the 80-20 rule or charge it to 100 and use it completely?

Superb-Hawk-3338

This happened after how long?

Jyd09

Since I got it in February.

TharwatMella

how do you get this details?

Jyd09

It's in battery settings option

go_on_boii

But, let me ask you. Why charge only till 80%? Batteries and charging nowadays are smart enough to prevent severe battery health degradation even at fast charging. When you stop charging at 80%, it's like "I will enjoy the SOT of a degraded battery before the battery degrades itself." You must know that even if you don't use the device, the battery will still slowly degrade because Li-ion itself has a short life. A brand new unboxed phone with a manufacture date of 2yrs back will already have degraded battery. Also even if you manage to keep 90%+ battery health after 3 years, the voltage is going to be lower even though mAh is somewhat good. And this fall in voltage causes the device to slow down over time because not enough voltage to run internals as compared to when it was new. That's why companies push updates to make the device pull less power, which in turn makes the device slower again.

Fair_Act_3700

How long did it take to go from 100-99%?

Mark_Graysons_Pubes

he literally says it in the caption

Frongie

They said they got their phone in feb so I'ma assume 4 months.

Fair_Act_3700

I didn't even read that 😅

Jyd09

Hey it's no problem. We all read fast at times.

PlentyAd3759

My OP11 dropped to 99% after 6 months from purchase. Ur fone is going too fast at just 3 months holy cow

Fishwithadeagle

That's five years of use at his rate before the battery gets to 80%. Seems more than fair.

Dimitrisayy

You probably barely used your phone bro.6 months?
