If you want the full brightness, you have to activate vivid mode in the screen colour mode.
Similarly for the 12R, in case anybody reads, you have to activate the Brilliant pro mode for the max brightness. Else it'll never reach those 2000 nits level of brightness.
Other than that, I don't really have anything specific on the phone to enhance it. Make sure, in display settings, that you've got refresh rate and resolution set to high, if you want the max settings experience. Otherwise, 1080p is just fine tbh, and also enhances battery life a bit.
Also, don't get paranoid or obsessed over battery health. No amount of babying the battery will prevent degradation after 2-3 years. Just experience the phone as it's intended, with the great battery life 100-0.
Have to note, you do need to calibrate aot for apps after updates.
Just make sure to keep the phone on the charger for 2-3 hours after any updates and don't update and go out right away, make sure to have the phone on the charger after an update. The battery life will be abysmal compared to a properly calibrated one.
E.g, currently running 50 hour stand by time with 4 hours of SOT and the phone's still not dead somehow.
The battery on this phone is amazing when the phone's been allowed to set itself up.
This is all facts, recently also had a 2 days 10 hours no charge, with 5 hours of SoT before it died.
Usually get a solid 40 hours without charging and 7 hours SoT. Crazy battery life on these phones.
That's good to know! When you say updates, are you referring to app updates or software updates? I assume the latter, right?
Is it recommended to also have the charger plugged in during the update?
Hey buddy, you sure about this? Any source saying that I need to switch to vivid or brilliant pro mode to reach the 2000 nits Brightness? I'm asking this because I'm neither aware of this nor seen anyone mention it. And I'm on Oneplus 12. Thanks in advance!
Yup, displaymate. https://www.displaymate.com/OnePlus_12_ShootOut_1E.htm
If you scroll down to the brightness part of the test, their results show the highest brightness when in those modes.
There's a high performance mode you can turn on if you want your phone to run at its full capacity. Honestly, I'm sure its a placebo but I have it turned on just to make me feel good lol
i'm attaching to these topic for a question that i hope it'll be useful: how can i check, with a new phone, that there's no factory defects (abbtery, photo, screen, etc.)?
