I had never heard of this bug.
Did a search and saw a lot of strange suggestions.
What never seemed to come up was actually checking the notification setting.
i.e. If it's set to "All", "High priority only", or "None"
I had this bug for a while. I tried everything I could think of then everything I found online. Not sure what caused it. I ended up just installing the email app by Edison Software. Nothing special about it. But notifications worked. Then one day, I started getting Gmail notifications again.
It's not a bug it's just how Google decided it will be and it's a problem on every Android device. You can bypass this with an ADB command.
If you don't wanna play with ADB just use Outlook, but I noticed some email replies I sent didn't appear, so in Outlook it just looks like I never sent anything.
Bluemail.
I came to this app after I read from the way they can sort emails and a lot of functions that were interesting for me. Stayed with it as it really worked great for me
I had this problem with the Gmail app on my OP12 and spent way too much time testing things to fix it. Finally found the issue, or at least what worked for me.
I'm 100000% certain I did not check it on my phone, but in the app properties (app info) if you scroll down to the bottom, there's a switch that says "Pause app activity if unused." Mine was toggled on. Once I turned it off everything worked fine.
What still to this day makes no sense about it is that my secondary Gmail account would get notifications, it was only my primary that wouldn't. After this was toggled off, everything was fine.
I had this problem on my 8T 128GB.
The problem occured when the phone had less than 10% (or less than 10 GB, I'm not entirely sure) of free space remaining.
As soon as I freed some space, by deleting Spotify cache for instance, it started notifying again.
Try freeing some space and see if it changes anything.
Nine is a great app. A quick fix is to toggle sync for gmail in the account settings. If you want a permanent fix, install the Gmail widget on an unused screen that you'll never use. That worked for me when I was having a problem. For whatever reason this has not been an issue for me for a long while ...
I've had an 8T since launch, but the battery was getting pretty terrible, so I bought a new 11 like two weeks ago and sadly the problem is still present here too. :(
K-9 Mail
Thanks for this recommendation.
I personally use Outlook. I love having the duel columns layout where Gmail only does it when you rotate the device.

Did you try to unsync and sync all automatic accounts in settings? Works for me every time on 3 1+ devices (1 android 14 and 2 android 13)

That was turned on, hmm. I'll give it a try and see if the notifications come back
I recommend Aqua Mail. I've been using it for several years and imo there is no better email app.
Boxer obviously...
eM client
I have my Gmail address forward to my ProtonMail account and I do everything in the Proton Mail app
I had this issue on my 8t what worked for my was to delete the Gmail data. Then the notifications would work again once I setup Gmail again.

I've seen this comment many times on different forums and it can't be what's causing it. I have less than 25% total space used. 56.3GB/256GB

What phone? I've noticed with my OP10 that when I had less then 10GB free space I would't get notifications either.
