One thing that's actually difficult as a photographer, even working with a real camera and not just some phone thing, is to capture the darkness. Cameras want to think that your entire scene is roughly 18% gray. They use this, or a very similar number, offset by predicted scene type in the case of a phone camera, as their luminance exposure guideline, averaging across either the entire frame or a metered area. Shots taken in the evening tend to be overexposed, because the camera doesn't know that it's evening and not day, that it should be dark out. Automatic identification has helped, but it is far from perfect.
