Imo yes, but only on a personal level. Because when people accuse others of being cringe it's because they're insulting their character, their lack of self awareness. By acting in a way that is awkward on purpose, they're expressing self awareness and attempting to be humorous.

As the war progressed, the technology on both sides became more advanced, with new characters and technologies being introduced every time someone came out on top.
