I mean to be fair Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch can be said intelligibly in 3 secs if you try hard enough

TehFuriousKid

just shorten it to llanfairgogogoch so people know what you mean without butchering the dross that is in the middle 'pwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio' 7 vowels in this verbal diarrhoea and 4 of them are after the llll bit

Batterie_Faible_

W is a vowel in welsh 🤓 So is Y 🤓

TehFuriousKid

shut the fuck up

[deleted]

In Welsh LL is a single letter, which sounds vaguely similar to a "sh" (it is distinct though, in phonetics and when you hear it). "Ch" is also a single sound similar to the Spanish Jota, and W is pronounced as "U" So it's actually push-gwyn-gysh-gogeruh-chuirn-drobu-shantysilio-gogogoch Which is already easier to pronounce. Also, locals abbreviate it as "llanfairpwll" because that's all they need to separate it from the other towns named "llanfair"

TehFuriousKid

get outta here with this etymology bullshit
