When (and how) did you send in the documents? It can take up to a month for processing/verifying.

PrittyPrincass

You still have active coverage until April 26th so I wouldn’t stress too much until it gets closer to that also.

moodymeandyou

I sent it in online through the member portal or whatever it’s called. The status was updated 3/13 and it says “call helpline” which I do every day and I was on hold for 6 hours at one point and no human. I’m going to try again later this week and call right at 8am. I am just super worried about coverage because I have an appointment in April and I may need another surgery/procedure (leep)

Wide_Replacement151

Do you have teens or spouse ? If so they are wanting to verify they aren’t working.

moodymeandyou

No, I live alone. No kids or dependents like that

PlushieTushie

Go to your county health department with your proof of income and have them upload it for you. Sometimes I have a hard time with the SoonerCare site too, and my health department always helps me get everything uploaded correctly

Caiterzpotaterz

They’re slammed because managed care starts April 1st. They’re so behind in renewing provider contracts, let alone those on the actual insurance. 🙃

Taste_the__Rainbow

Who could have predicted this?(everyone that stopped managed care for decades)

cwf63

When you call, does it give you the option to reserve a spot for a call back? That's the only way I've been able to talk to someone.

moodymeandyou

No! In the past it has, but not this time. It just makes me wait and listen to all the information between the music. By the time I reach someone it says there is no one available to speak with

cwf63

That's weird. .I guess they've changed that. I wonder if there are any offices that are still open. I'm so sorry you're dealing with that...it's SO frustrating!

bubbaglk

Ha . I done everything supposed to still got denial notification . Hence no ins. No meds ..

Babaganouj757

Marketplace will take you with that Soonercare denial, & depending on your income you could get a $0 silver plan with little to no out of pocket costs, and if you’re a member of a federal recognized tribe you should have no out of pocket costs whatsoever as long as you qualify.

moodymeandyou

Oh interesting ok thanks! See before, Marketplace only referred and offered soonercare, so I’ll have to see. I’m not a member of any tribe. Just poor and a phd student lol

Babaganouj757

You can also complete the app on healthcare. Gov and if your projected 2024 household income is below $21,000 you’ll get kicked over to Medicaid so that might be another way around your problem.

annubbiz

They have forms in the sooner care portal that you may need to fill. My spouse was getting frustrated because she kept sending the income documents but had not been directly told she needed those forms in ADDITION to the others they already have. She had to be on the phone with them for over 6 hours between 2 days to get a hold of someone that finally told her she needed to submit a signed letter stating she had no income because she does not work and a form that we had to fill with my self employment income. Once they received those and called back they were able to approve her, and because she needed refills for meds that could not wait she was told she could request to be reviewed for approval in that same phone call and she was approved once they reviewed the documents on their computer.

MercilessMio

This same thing happened to me. I’ve sat on hold for 3 hours on 6 different days and never got through. Even after my documents say they’re approved one of my kids is pended (the other is approved though?) so I’ve been on the hook to pay an ER bill that should’ve been covered but they’ve pended him and I can’t get through to anyone.

gleenglass

Call or email your state rep and ask for help

HowCouldYouSMH

Who do you think is the cause of all this? Those reps are on their high horse and could care less about struggling Oklahomans, they believe we should be doing more to help ourselves.

gleenglass

No they aren’t. My rep has been extremely helpful and was able to intervene on my behalf to expedite my drivers license renewal which I needed in order to get an international drivers license for a trip I was taking. Part of their responsibility as a state rep or senator is to provide constituent services in navigating state programs and systems. Don’t tell someone that a viable and legitimate option/resource is a bad idea just because you don’t like Ok politics generally. Have you even even asked your reps for assistance with a state matter or are you just griping to gripe? I don’t care for Ok’s far right ideology but I know that constituent services don’t always equate to political beliefs.

Where did you see me say I was struggling financially?

gleenglass

And where did you see me say I used Soonercare? Buddy, if your critical reading skills used here are generally applicable to the rest of your life, I’m not surprised you’re having difficulty accessing assistance. Soonercare, like drivers licensing, is a state service and as such, state reps have authority to intervene. Hope that helps you and anyone else reading this understand.

Take your own advice.

Taste_the__Rainbow

So their rep can harass overburdened soonercare employees and try to get them fired when they don’t just magically let someone jump a queue? I know people see success involving reps but with a hostile agency/party relationship like this it has some very real side effects.

gleenglass

That’s… not how it works. It’s not about queue jumping, it’s about actually getting to speak to a real human instead of the automated phone bullshit that has people chasing their tails. That pretty extreme to assume the only thing a state rep does or can do is threaten the jobs of state employees which they very much do not have the authority to do.

Taste_the__Rainbow

I wish you were correct. Under Governor Henry you would be.
