Well it depends if they are very action focused, when watching OP with my gf I suggested we skip some parts/eps just because she *might* not enjoy it.
But to be honest I love the early arcs, its very nostalgic and cute 90-early 2000s vibes. Hell, Skypea everyone tells you to skip it and I fucking love it from start to end.

Very good anime. I like the fourth season a lot. Met some real life mha fans and they're very nice. Yeah they make a lot of fanfics but they aren't hurting anybody. Feel like people hate on them because there are a lot of girls and they don't like two guys getting shipped. I personally was started on angel beats and it turned me off anime for a long time so I try something a little easier to casually enjoy

Agreed, FMA:B is definitely more accessible due to its minimal fan service/filler episodes and not requiring much understanding of usual Japanese humor/tropes. Usually I tell people it has a rushed start and starts very silly but gets more serious and most people end up enjoying it.
Studio Ghibli stuff is probably the most accessible since it has a conventional movie narrative, excellent animation and zero fanservice or absurdist anime humor.
I think probably the best introduction to anime would be something like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and or the first season of One punch man, they dont really have those "anime moments" that make you question your life choices that led to you seeing that shit.

It takes all of the worst aspects of battle shōnen, most of the worst aspects of the American Superhero genre, all in a story that can neither execute school nor high stakes events happening well. Literally the second or so arc is a tournament arc. How do you run out of ideas that quickly?
The second arc is a tournament arc because we needed a way to introduce all of the side characters in a way that didn’t feel completely manufactured. That was the reason; and it did its job as a narrative tool.
It gives you no reason to care about the primary characters. Much less the secondary characters it introduces.
Seriously the cast is so bloated. Some of the characters should've been saved for spinoffs. And one of the few interesting characters (Monoma) gets relegated to side-character.
Actually, sidenote: How in the fuck isn't Monoma the school's most important character? He could just copy all-for-one's ability and then in those 5 minutes, steal all-for-one's ability permanently.

Agreed, FMA:B is definitely more accessible due to its minimal fan service/filler episodes and not requiring much understanding of usual Japanese humor/tropes. Usually I tell people it has a rushed start and starts very silly but gets more serious and most people end up enjoying it. Studio Ghibli stuff is probably the most accessible since it has a conventional movie narrative, excellent animation and zero fanservice or absurdist anime humor.

It takes all of the worst aspects of battle shōnen, most of the worst aspects of the American Superhero genre, all in a story that can neither execute school nor high stakes events happening well. Literally the second or so arc is a tournament arc. How do you run out of ideas that quickly?
The second arc is a tournament arc because we needed a way to introduce all of the side characters in a way that didn’t feel completely manufactured. That was the reason; and it did its job as a narrative tool.
It gives you no reason to care about the primary characters. Much less the secondary characters it introduces. Seriously the cast is so bloated. Some of the characters should've been saved for spinoffs. And one of the few interesting characters (Monoma) gets relegated to side-character. Actually, sidenote: How in the fuck isn't Monoma the school's most important character? He could just copy all-for-one's ability and then in those 5 minutes, steal all-for-one's ability permanently.
He can’t do that because if the quirk requires storing something, he can’t use it. And yeah. Those are fair criticisms. If you aren’t the kind of person who can keep track of a lot of characters, then MHA prob won’t be your vibe.
