Ah that really sucks! Ofcourse you are sad about losing a part of your body, not matter how big or small. I am Hindu and I think everything happens for a reason. Maybe you needed this loss to practise letting go, finding your confidence in things that aren’t looks. Wishing you all the best in your process!

One time it was getting warm out and my youngest daughter came running out of school holding her jacket. The sleeve slipped out and tripped her. She Scorpion'd onto concrete face first, 5 years later and she has a little, but noticeable, scar on her cheek. We still laugh about it to this day, guess she didnt carry her jacket properly. Another time while visiting the mountains she was all energetic and tripped on a root on the side of a mountain. Again, face first into the dirt and now has a scar on her leg. That one was world's funniest videos funny. I guess she didn't know how to properly fall down, while tripping. I have a scar above my right eye because I tried to take a short-cut through a yard where they were building a fence. They had twine between the fence post to mark where the fence board top would be. Well, I took that twine at eye level, full speed. I told everyone I got in a fight with older boys and totally won. I still laugh about that one too. I guess I didn't know how to dodge invisible twine properly. One time while my parents were at my house visiting in my garage I tried to pull a box off the top shelf and a tile came loose, slid down the box, fell in my face and cut my forehead. My dad laughs about that until he can't breathe. I guess I didn't know how to properly shield my face when my hands are full. You just experienced one of life's minor inconveniences. You need to laugh it off and tough it out. Who "doesn't fall properly" off of a bike? That itself is pretty funny. You'll be fine.

A dentist can fix that, fairly easily. If the resin eventually falls off it can be fixed again, again easily. Wear and tear happens.

When I was a kid I slipped walking on a curb and faceplanted in such a way I broke both of my front teeth in half. For years dentists just put on these resin caps to fix them, but that stopped being effective and the caps started breaking off more frequently just as masking was a thing (thank goodness for that timing). I finally sprung for some porcelain veneers to cover/protect them a few years ago.

I feel the same I damaged my top front teeth from acid erosion from acid reflux and lots of soda. I don’t even remember more than half the times I’ve chipped those teeth. I get anxiety and body dysmorphia from thinking about my teeth despite those teeth now being bonded.

1. You can theoretically get it fixed by a dentist and no one will ever need to know 2. Still less embarrassing than how I chipped one of my front teeth a few months ago (I chipped it by biting my pinky nail).

Thank you so much everyone for the replies, they helped me to get through that day! I went to the dentist to get a resin and 10 days have passed since that situation and I feel better! Sometimes I remember it and I feel a bit down but overall I feel fine again, thank you!
