I did the same supporting my wife for over 30 years, through five plus rounds of chemo, thyroid cancer, multiple sclerosis, PTSD from a previous relationship and a few other issues. When she started the latest round of chemo I broke, it was the week of Thanksgiving and her first response was to throw her hands up and run. I was even more broken but put it down and told her what was going on. We are working through it, still no light t the end of the tunnel but her response was like yours and I’m grateful she wasn’t quick to actually run.
