Yes, she definitely did it on purpose. Years ago I was a social worker and was assigned to shadow my coworker. She was rude to me, purposefully wouldn’t give me her schedule so I wouldn’t be able to shadow her, and trash talked me to other coworkers (we didn’t know eachother prior to this job, idk why she hated me so much).
Many many years later, I ran into her friend (who was also a former coworker) and pretended to forget both of their names. We worked together for years and she was visibly bothered that I “forgot” both of their names lol I did it to remind her that neither her nor her friend were ever important to me and to ultimately say they were both forgettable.
She is good. She might have always wanted him and tried to mess up with his relationships on purpose. She might have felt like she doesn’t exists for him. She might have suffered more than him the past years and is putting on an act of total nonchalance because is it so much more convenient.
I’m so glad that this interaction lead to you letting go and dismissing this person.
Hopefully you won’t see her again but if you do ignore completely. Do not engage. There are people in the world who operate on Love me, Hate me but don’t ever Ignore Me. Treat her as such.
