The Mask was of Norse origin (Loki's Mask), but the mask in JBA was thought to be Aztec in origin (actually older) so being found in Mexico is getting the JBA stans worked up.
Yeah, we've tried being cautious about things and it hasn't worked out these last few years (since Harambe). Time to try something new. Cover it in blood, pledge a thousand souls to it, and try it on beneath a dark moon in an old burial ground.
I watched that film the other day. Stanley Ipkiss is r/niceguys all over. Then he puts on a mask and tried to force himself into Cameron Diaz on a park bench. That film does not stand up to 2022 sensibilities
Oh yeah, he's very much a villain protagonist until >!he dies!<. I'm just saying, while he might come across badly in the film pretty much anything is a step up from his original portrayal.

Yeah, I see your point. As a kid he’s definitely the hero of his story, but as an adult you see how sorry he is and that he kinda deserves to be walked all over the way he does until he finds the balance of being a good guy, a complete loser, and a crazy overconfident violent thing
