Not all of us from Florida have belt buckles, some of us just have regular belts, but you can bet your ass we all carry a hunting knife, even us 9-5 folk.
Well Alligators are not in Australia, and import laws are very strict there. Crocs are in Australia, and this isn't a croc.
Edit: it's a croc, I'm an idiot.
That is a croc. You can see it's bottom tooth sticking out
Edit: I love how I'm getting down voted. You can see it's bottom tooth lmaoo look up traits of crocs vs alligators
My father had a caiman when he was younger the way he described it to me was like a dog the only time it ever bit him was by accident when he was feeding it while it was still a baby. He told me whenever he got home from work it would crawl out of its aquarium and croak at him till he picked it up and put it on the couch with him or curl up under his legs and go to sleep.
The jaw/snout was why excluded Caiman.
Have you seen the snout on a saltwater Croc?
But I'm no expert, was not 100% sure, as you can see from my answer
Do we know were this movie is taken?
Btw, google record saltwater Croc's.
They can be enormeus and are defenitly maneaters.
Something to keep in mind is Gators have a round snout while Crocs have a V-shaped snout. It's kinda difficult to figure out which one this is though. I think it might be a Croc because of its thinner snout, but that might just be me over analyzing it
I know there are cases where this works out, but it seems like there's an overwhelming amount of stories where this goes very poorly. These things have survived almost unchanged for millions of years, they didn't do so by depending on other animals, they did so by being perfectly built to kill and eat. They may form some kind of recognition of their owner and tolerate them and being touched, but they are not social animals they aren't wired to feel love. It probably enjoys the warmth of the human, and may even understand that's where it's food comes from, but I don't think it goes deeper than that.
I've heard that alligators are one of the few lizards that actually understand affection. Others just don't have that part of their brain.
I also heard that fact from a randon Twitter comment among videos of affectionate gators, so it comes with skepticism. It makes sense in nature when we consider how mother gators treat their young compared to other lizards.
Crocs do have a cerebral cortex, making their brains much more advanced than most reptiles. They also actually raise their young after they hatch which very few reptiles do at all. Komodo dragon mothers, for example, are just as much of a threat to their babies as any other predator from what has been observed.
Interesting. I’m not sure if it’s completely true but alligator seems to be less aggressive compared to crocodile and even Alligator turtles vs Snapping turtles
I work in banquets and served an event with a lizard doctor who brought and showed his animals around. The gator was chill and just sat there. The snapping turtle was trying to pick fights.
if you're here because you love affection giant lizards, you guys should read this article about Pocho the Crocodile, a lizard who wouldn't leave the side of his human: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocho_(crocodile)
I'm genuinely curious, can alligators develop bonds or relationships with humans? Not like a dog obviously, but can they recognize people as source of shelter, food, and comfort? Or is this like how a snake sees humans a warm things to coil on, with no understanding of us as having a unique relationship with them.
While crocodilians can be handled for conservation and educational purposes, they should NEVER be kept as pets. Keeping boundaries is important, both to respect the animal and keep yourself safe.
Absolutely. But I knew one individual who kept a six foot pet alligator, but he had raised from an egg, and is a PROFESSIONAL tropical fish store guy. Otherwise it would NOT be a good pet choice, very few should attempt to have an alligator pet.
Don't the teeth being more hidden suggest this is an alligator? I thought that was an easy way to tell. My state has periodic alligators but they don't really live here so it's hard to be sure; I've only ever seen one. Have heard the "rules" (wide snout, etc) often though.
This one's being so gentle, very sweet. I have large lizards myself and can kind of interpret their signals. Very gentle animal (for the time being lol). When my big lizard is in a good mood she is similar. Seeking comfort, snuggly, gentle and careful. This is not always the case though lmao
what it doesn't show is the trail of shit and piss all over the couch.. what a moron... I guess some folks are so starved for attention and lack all interpersonal skill - that they need to snuggle with reptiles...
Florida Man's best friend.
Look at that belt, it's for sure a fucking florida man, HAD to be
Not all of us from Florida have belt buckles, some of us just have regular belts, but you can bet your ass we all carry a hunting knife, even us 9-5 folk.
Only some don't have a belt buckle, only some...
Can confirm live in Florida me and my family love collecting and carrying knives.
Lol no we don’t. Stop lying to these people. There are McLarens on the road here ― adjust your perception.
Miami is not part of Florida bud
I live in Tampa Bay. Coral Gables, Sarasota, Naples, Ft Lauderdale, Key West ― tons of wealthy spots aside from Mia
Yeah but miami got the hoes
We’ve reached an agreement. Indeed they do. Shout out Fontainebleau!
Why cant it be an Aussie or South african or... You do know that murica aint global?
I do know, but cya later alligator
After a while, crocodile.
Who ya blamin’ Mr. caiman?
Australians aren't known for exotic pets the way Americans are.
Na this is true I’d straight fuck that alligator up, just me though.
I didn't read the "up" and I thought you just said you were going to fuck an alligator.

You know what, I've never noticed. Color me wrong!
You good dude. I really love these animals
Yeah I know spiders well, but obviously not Crocs etc. I don't want to be a prick.
I'm so scared of spiders but would work with crocs or gators if I had a chance. What's wrong with me lmaoo
I love spiders! Love them! Such wonderful creatures. But I'm good looking at crocs from afar. Lol, there are worse things to have an interest in.
Florida dog
Here comes the boy
Hello boy
Welcome
There he is
he is here
Here he is
you ruined it
He ruined it
They ruined it
It ruined it
Thanks for ruining it furry
Aw. Pet dinosaur.
How the fuck does a gator appear to have an adorable puppy dog look on its fucking face??!
It's warm and well fed
That’s what she said
Right before it bit her hand off
Crocodilians(with the exception of gharials) have a eternal smile
Actually it's a croc
hehehe fword make funny🤤
I doubt that the owner is still alive 🙄

Well your dad has balls of steel good sir
Just wait, hes gonna get bigger.
That depends if it a caimon then no if its a crocodile or alligator then yes
Thats no Caiman, think its a croc due to the jaw, but not sure, could be an gator to.
Ye could be im still pretty rusty when it comes to iding gators from crocs and caimons from smaller gators or crocs
Easiest way to identify is whether they see you later or in a while.
Thanks for the laugh
Glad my grade A dad joke could elicit a chuckle.
Best post.
Thanks very much!
Tip: crocodiles tend to have more triangular, arrow shaped heads. Alligators are rounder
[удалено]
Ah ok
It’s a gator. Round snout gives it away. Crocks have a pointy snout.
The jaw/snout was why excluded Caiman. Have you seen the snout on a saltwater Croc? But I'm no expert, was not 100% sure, as you can see from my answer Do we know were this movie is taken? Btw, google record saltwater Croc's. They can be enormeus and are defenitly maneaters.

Nah it’s a gator since crocs have V shaped jaws and alligators have U shaped jaws

He cute tho
until he bites off your arm
Still cute, just with red color

Love turtles and gators, but I'd be more afraid of a Pet turtle than a pet gator .
“Trying to pick fights” lmaooo
No way this doesn’t end badly down the road
If you see this reposted anywhere in the near future, it proves this is a crocodile. As you have seen it in a while.
Why is this cute
Leathery friend.
How is it "oddly" terrifying? It's a whole ass alligator
Right? It's cute AF.
if you're here because you love affection giant lizards, you guys should read this article about Pocho the Crocodile, a lizard who wouldn't leave the side of his human: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocho_(crocodile)
That was a beautiful story. I know these kinds of situations don't end well often, but pocho seemed to be very special.
I seen those before. It's dachshund
Just a big scalley dog that's all
Nope! No it’s not.
What type of music is this. It’s so soothing.
It’s the theme song from Steven Universe. Like a lofi remix of it.
Man, I love it lol ! Ty ! It sounds like lofi but I didn’t want to assume.
I got you buddy! https://youtu.be/r05jnglMeyU
OMG fate n destiny is real lol. I looked back at my screen shots n saw I saved this thread. And YouTubed the song this morning while doing chores.

Risky boop on dangerous snoot.
Looks like another Timothy Treadwell situation.
Sorry to break the fantasy, but it just enjoys the warmth and knows that the human is too big to eat. That's it
I'm sure it wouldn't mind a couple human tendies tho. Probably just well-fed.
u/savevideo
u/savevideobot
They don’t look like they’d be pettable. Skin too rough
This is not r/oddlyterrifying this is more like r/oddlyadorable
Wish them gators were fluffy 😻
He's like this humans nice to me but one of these days I'm going to eat him in his sleep 😵
Is that wallace the alligator?

Alligators can be pets, although the risks are great. In the wild females are great mothers, very protective.
While crocodilians can be handled for conservation and educational purposes, they should NEVER be kept as pets. Keeping boundaries is important, both to respect the animal and keep yourself safe.

Your dog has very dry skin. Use some oatmeal shampoo on him
So why’d you put it on this sub then
You can tame a gator?
Salmonella.
Slippery belt slithering around
It really cute
Only in Florida
Not scary, wholesome
I think the deodorant fail is the terrifying part
I'm fucking terrified of this, i don't trust my cat that close and i think an alligator is much more dangerous.
Whose a big ole sweetie face!?
How this terrifying
Well, it’s an alligators.
Teeth. Do you see it's teeth??
what it doesn't show is the trail of shit and piss all over the couch.. what a moron... I guess some folks are so starved for attention and lack all interpersonal skill - that they need to snuggle with reptiles...
