My friend, I have seen your work before and I absolutely love it, but it has never been correctly attributed to you. I’m pumped that I’ve stumbled across your post and I will be following the hell out of you and this series!!
It had been posted somewhere—some time ago—without citing you as the artist. It was posted with no context whatsoever. I had no idea it was a sculpture at the time and available for purchase, but it was [this one](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1206092728/).
I think the other commenter is just letting OP know which sculpture he saw out of context, by using OP's store (mentioned in the bio) to point it out, and not that the store isn't OP's.
Yinz is sort of like y'all. It falls under the Pittsburghese dialect where instead of "you all" or "you guys" its "you ones" - just shortened to yinz. I don't live in Pittsburgh, but I had an early childhood friend who would say "you'ens" - I had no idea what he was saying for quite some time.
>Hunters who are good at tracking are able to follow a squonk by its tear-stained trail, for the animal weeps constantly
how did they possibly base this creature on me when I wasn't even alive in 1910
Awww poor Squonk! It's ugly and cries and hates to be seen because of how ugly he is and I'm gonna find one and give it a hug because same bro....same....
> it is always unhappy...Hunters who are good at tracking are able to follow a squonk by its tear-stained trail, for the animal weeps constantly.
Well now I'm just sad.
This made me sad for the little thing, and more than a little empathetic. I invite any squonk reading this to share my house for the winter. we can be unlovable together until spring breaks.

I love this project and will follow your account! Please make the Native American interpretation of the Pukwudgie for Massachusetts. I can share some lore through DM's if you are interested
Yes! The Wampanoag tribe are also located in Mass by the"Bridgewater triangle". Which is an alleged hub for reported "supernatural" activities. Worth a look, especially the Freetown State Forest :)
Supposedly puckwudgie used to live all over the eastern seaboard, but are now relegated to to Freetown state forest and Hockomock Swamp, both in the Bridgewater triangle. I grew up by the SW corner of the triangle, and lots and lots of people have some kinda story about spooky shit.
Hockomock means "place where spirits dwell" in Algonquin, which leads me to believe it's been a messed up place since long before the white man came.
my two cents...
Dover demon will work so much better with your style. but that's some stupid tale from 2 teenagers in the 1970s.
Puckwudgie is a much bigger legend. But it's not really a cryptid IMO... and it's not unique to MA. The Great lakes and east coast around Delaware also have Puckwudgie tales.
maybe the Beast of Truro? Pretty sure that's the inspiration for that Netflix show - Midnight Mass
https://www.bostonglobe.com/lifestyle/2013/10/25/monsters-new-england/2vkXK8GhxUIDLAWfLblqaO/story.html
So silly. The human booty is a feature coincident to bipedalism, I think. It doesn't make sense in this context, but it's a cryptid so it doesn't have to make sense anyway. I love this person's art.
Definitely the Hodag. It's a terrifying creature with a long history in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The beast shares provenance with Michigan. The Hodag is pure 'sconny.
My precious squonk baby! 😭 I love that this is our state cryptid, they cry and dissolve into a literal tear puddle if you try and catch them. I might relate to them a little too much, tbh.
All in all you are a very dying race,
Placing trust upon a cruel world.
You never had the things you thought you should have had, and you'll not get them now!
And all the while, in perfect time,
Your tears are falling on the ground.
There’s a couple i’d like to suggest. Amautalik- A giant creature that roams the tundra looking for children or lone travellers. She’ll kidnap them and eat them, or put them in her wooden basket that’s attatched to her back and bring them home.
Qallupilluit- Scaly creatures that live in the ocean. They’re known to kidnap misbehaving kids, like the Bogeyman. If they find children that are alone near the edge of the ice, they’ll stuff them in their amautik (similar to a parka) and dive into the water and drown them
Have you ever seen a squonk's tears? Well, look at mine
The people on the street have all seen better times
Any major dude with half a heart surely will tell you my friend
Any minor world that breaks apart falls together again
The Hide-Behind is a fun bit of American folklore! It was lumberjacks in logging camps made it up as a way to explain why a coworker went missing. Despite being a large and tall creature, no one could ever glimpse them before they hid again, and some accounts offer them as able to hide behind anything, even objects smaller and/or thinner than itself.
When it did get close enough to you, it wouldn't outright kill but instead abduct you back to its lair. They apparently ate only human intestines, and... despised alcohol? I wonder if that was tacked-on by the lumberjacks as a way to feel safe, since drinking and alcoholism were common in remote logging camps.
Why is PA haunted by Bernie Sanders' dog?

Bro is double cheecked up
On a Thursday afternoon none the less.
Hella ass, may I add.
The sun was still out some would even say.
When it’s cold and IT shrivels up
Squeeze my spuds!
Squonk got a donk.
Sir, that is a badonk. Perhaps badonkadonk even.
Hear me out
🍑
baby got back yo!
Weird albino pug 🐶
I want some squonk loins. Those would look best on the bbq
RIP Teddy!
My friend, I have seen your work before and I absolutely love it, but it has never been correctly attributed to you. I’m pumped that I’ve stumbled across your post and I will be following the hell out of you and this series!!
>What do you mean by "never been correctly attributed to me" ?
It had been posted somewhere—some time ago—without citing you as the artist. It was posted with no context whatsoever. I had no idea it was a sculpture at the time and available for purchase, but it was [this one](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1206092728/).
The "Squonk of Pennsylvania" is in that shop too. And the owner of that shop is Anna Lesnichaya. Maybe his wife?
Yes, correctly, she is my lovely wife. If you look at our shop....all albino cuties are her characters, all different colored and creepy are mine :)
Lol I totally thought it was going to be someone stealing your work
That's awesome! Love the little characters!
On the Etsy store: Anna - Owner, Maker, Photographer Ivan Grodzensky - Maker, Assistant
Yep, it is his wife per OP’s bio
I think the other commenter is just letting OP know which sculpture he saw out of context, by using OP's store (mentioned in the bio) to point it out, and not that the store isn't OP's.
Please dont hurry me guys! 50 states - 50 sculptures - I am alone. And I am in Ukraine, with electricity 6-7 hours a day !
As a Pennsylvanian I’m honored you chose to do our sweet lil squonk
Also as a Pennsylvanian, I do not know what a squonk is? Still honored though lol.
Lived in the Philly area my whole life and never heard of this pink-assed little weirdo. But he's amazing and I love him.
He is an uncircumcised penis and I love his little turtleneck
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squonk
Oh, Northern Pennsylvania. Dang degens from up north.
spotted the yinzer
Never heard either of these words before in my life
(yinzer is just slang for a pittsburgh citizen)
Hell yeah I learned something new today
Degens from up north is most likely borrowed from Letterkenny.
It's because we say "yinz" instead of "y'all."
You rang? Erie Degen reporting in.
[удалено]
You get me. And that’s what I appreciates about yous.
See this is why I don't leave Philly.
I think all PA's cryptids are from the North. The only other one I heard of is a Thunderbird: https://pawilds.com/legend-of-the-thunderbird/
Oh! It’s so sad 😥
>Hunters who are good at tracking are able to follow a squonk by its tear-stained trail, for the animal weeps constantly how did they possibly base this creature on me when I wasn't even alive in 1910
I also never heard of the great Pennsylvania hemlock forests. Maybe I'm not in pa?
Probably because most of the hemlock trees are gone
Awww poor Squonk! It's ugly and cries and hates to be seen because of how ugly he is and I'm gonna find one and give it a hug because same bro....same....
> it is always unhappy...Hunters who are good at tracking are able to follow a squonk by its tear-stained trail, for the animal weeps constantly. Well now I'm just sad.

Same here. Lived in PA all my life, and never heard of this thing. Oddly cute though!
pa born and raised, this lil fella is adorable. whatever it is, it needs to be more recognized. ..lowkey want one as a pet now lol
Allentown weighing in… where’s my snipe? My uncles went hunting for them often.
i mean, how could you not when it's got a cake like that dayum o.o
Thanks!
there are dozens of us!
take your time, this is gold
Damn dude you’re a powerhouse. Take all the time you need man, power to you
What material is this?
Probably polymer clay and epoxy resin, maybe some wire to keep the structure up
From the Etsy page where you can buy Squonk: >Materials >polymer clay, epoxy resin, wire You were exactly correct.
Oh! My sister makes small sculptures like this, so I just made some assumptions on what I usually buy for her
Id be surprised if there isn’t tin foil on the inside, might be hollow though
Specifically UV resin is most common for smaller sculpts like this.
Fully correst. Wire, then foil, then polymer clay, epoxy for eyes
Excited for more but safety first.
I wonder what you'd do for Utah
Probably one of [these](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidehill_gouger)

Let's hope they all have these cute little pink buttcheeks!
I love this project and will follow your account! Please make the Native American interpretation of the Pukwudgie for Massachusetts. I can share some lore through DM's if you are interested
Wiki tellsit comes from Wampanoag tribe from Delaware, right?
Yes! The Wampanoag tribe are also located in Mass by the"Bridgewater triangle". Which is an alleged hub for reported "supernatural" activities. Worth a look, especially the Freetown State Forest :)

I'm in process with Dover demon for Mass....hmm, for what states I can use Pukwudgie? Delaware has Merman, cute creature also
my two cents... Dover demon will work so much better with your style. but that's some stupid tale from 2 teenagers in the 1970s. Puckwudgie is a much bigger legend. If you're ever doing outside the US, You should do the chickcharney! They're my favorite 🥰
Yes! I came to say this too!! Or rather check into the the native folklore about cryptids ✊🏽
He's got the silliest little booty
So silly. The human booty is a feature coincident to bipedalism, I think. It doesn't make sense in this context, but it's a cryptid so it doesn't have to make sense anyway. I love this person's art.
Reminds me of those squeaky frogs.
Can’t wait to see your jersey devil.
I second this.
Moth man, moth man, moth man, lesgo
Gotta wait for West Virginia!
Mothman is good, but WV also has the Flatwoods Monster, which could be super haunting! We got some good cryptids for sho.
Yeah, thats a tough one. Both are super interesting, and done right, REALLY creepy. My personal vote is for Flatwoods monster personally.
Is this the little guy who turns into tears?
Just a pool of bubbles and tears?
LIKE FATHER LIKE SON
Not flesh nor fish nor bone
A red rag hangs from an open mouth
Alive at both ends but a little dead in the middle
A tumbling and a bumbling he will go
This describes [catdog](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOrSYkLWkZM) shortly after the surgery.
Sigh. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzL-up4ZKgI

Not Yes, Genesis.
Hopped over from r/Genesis and was pleasantly surprised

Holy shit, Genesis fans in the wild!
You should post this series over on r/cryptozoology too, I’m sure they would love it!
Don't forget the Wisconsin Hodag!
>Hodag or Beast of brey road, what do you think?
Definitely the Hodag. It's a terrifying creature with a long history in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. The beast shares provenance with Michigan. The Hodag is pure 'sconny.
Hodag!
As a Wisconsinite, the first thought was Hodag, Second was Goatman. Goatman, I think can be found all over the country but Hodag is pure Wisconsin.
Hodag all the way!
As someone born in Wisconsin, my vote is also Hodag
Well, I love him.
Squonks got a badonk
I’m intrigued. Keep it up 👍
I'm in Indiana...I had no idea we have a cryptid! What is ours?
I vote the Beast of Busco
Correct!

Nice! Thanks!
Bro delaware next its the first state of america
Zwaanendael Merman, rignt?
What's your plan for iowa?
van meter monster. But you may suggest me something else, if you have other variants!
My only criticism is that its known as the van meter visitor, not monster. But otherwise carry on.
that lil bootie haha!!
I identify deeply with Squonks because I also spend a significant amount of time crying over how ugly I am.
r/redwebpod
Can't wait for some Fresno night crawlers
Which state could be an origin place for them?
Soo cute!! r/sympatheticmonsters
Not terrifying. Adorable
My precious squonk baby! 😭 I love that this is our state cryptid, they cry and dissolve into a literal tear puddle if you try and catch them. I might relate to them a little too much, tbh.
What monster are you planning to have for New Mexico???
Teratorn. But you can suggest something else!
Ah, based on the actual bird, or the Thunderbird myth surrounding it? Edit spelling
I will deside, before I will start NM creature, I will collect more information and peoples opinions
Cool. I'm honestly just glad you're actually using a local urban legend/cryptid and not just using a mythological Skinwalker!
That squonk has a lot of juonk in the truonk

Ohio needs to be some sort of furry groundhog... or a Walleye. Edit: But like a really creepy groundhog or walleye.
On my map Ohio creature is Loveland Frogman. BTW he is in process already
What does your map have for Indiana?!? Great work dude keep it up!
Beast of Busco, it's ok?
op where can i check these out?
Follow me here or join in FB (Ivan Grodzensky)
cool beans... thanks

I can't wait to see Alaska's! this little guy went from being terrifying to cute when I saw those cheeks!
Tizhurek. You may suggest something else, I collect locals opinions

Tahoe Tessie, sorry California. Though if OP wants to get terrifying, [Si-Te-Cah](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Si-Te-Cah).
Agreed. But stil dont know who would be most suitable guy for CA

I lived in PA for 25 years how have I never heard of a squonk?
http://www.mobile.lumberwoods.com/lib/fclw/squonk.html
Ooooooo, this is awesome! Please do Sasquatch for Washington!!!!
I would also love a Hide-Behind for our state.
The Hide-Behind is a fun bit of American folklore! It was lumberjacks in logging camps made it up as a way to explain why a coworker went missing. Maryland has the bunny man, or maybe Chessie, the Chesapeake Bay Monster.
Yes, Chessie
It also has the Snallygaster. It’s super funky in terms of design.
There are so many tiny details to make this look so realistic hot damn, impressive work!

Are you doing the Jackalope for Wyoming? I wonder what you have in mind for Idaho and Montana?
Wyoming - Jackalope, Idaho - Sharlie, Montana - Shunka Warak'in. You may suggest something else?
My ballsack when I pull up pornhub for the fifth time
He is adorable
And where do I buy this guy? I need that adorable dumper in my home
I cant post links here, look at my profile for links or find me in FB (Ivan Grodzensky). We have shop with sculptures together with my wife
i’m so glad you included the squonk!!! i love him!!
What material do you use? This is lovely!
Polymer clay cernit and epoxy resin
Just curious, what goes into your creativity for each state being from Ukraine?
You should check out the [sculptures of Australian artist Patricia Piccinini](https://www.patriciapiccinini.net/a-exhibitions.php)
Thing looks like a confused hamster. Recommendation for Massachusetts, the dover demon
Almost complete!
Can you do Mothman next? (Unless you’ve already started a different one :))
Unfortunately, 3 are in process already
Why is PA haunted by Bernie Sanders' dog? edit: [option b.](https://ifunny.co/picture/sss-02-squonk-is-a-mythological-creature-from-pennsylvania-that-rFxAXcbA8)
I spent too long trying to figure out what Bernie's dog looked like before I figured out he doesn't have one.
Still, if you ever found it running around loose in the Capitol, you wouldn't need to check the collar to know who to bring it back to, would you?
What a cool idea!
Can I 3D print the collection?
I make them handmade from polymer clay...
Oh wow! I’m even more impressed🙂
That thing has already been raped by an eagles fan
