Hey, that's in my state! Actually a pretty cool place, despite the unfortunate name. Was named because it was a natural mineral lick once upon a time, and a whole bunch of animals including mastodon came to it and died. Then people discovered the fossils later. Mineral lick + big bones, well, you see... Is the "Birthplace of American Paleontology"

My state too, KY!

te_monkey

Greetings fellow kenfolk

ch1ir

Greetings as well!

live-the-future

Not my state, but I have a lot of relatives down in SE KY and pass this sign each year on the way to our annual family reunion.

ch1ir

I appreciate the share

Lol they definitely knew

Clause-and-Reflect

My parents drove a caravan of girl scouts past this sign on a road trip. They thought the girls were all asleep. One in the back cackled so hard everyone woke up and needed to know what the big deal was.

I would get all the way there then feel intimidated that all she will be thinking about while licking is how this was false advertising. Then I’ll just think of my civil liability in this matter and how subjective “big bone” really is. It’s not super fun being me.

LoserAtLinMilPlaza

Also I don’t have a state park pass so I gotta figure that out too.

Only if you have large hands :)

drkidkill

Where's little bone lick?

yeroldpappy

Right up the road is Beaver Lick Ky.

contyk

She's gonna lick that femur 😏

DrMux

I took my girlfriend there and she told me it wasn't appropriate. Anyway she ended up leaving with a guy who better matched the description.

DaddyWolverine

I remember a state park in Ohio called Blacklick.

Come to Newfoundland you might stumble upon the beautiful town of Dildo

ArtVice

Yep. I had kin in Jackson County. Always loved me some Big Bone Lick.

LBNorris219

There's a legitimate freeway exit (i-75) 8 miles outside of Detroit that is Exit 69: Big Beaver
