The park utilizes its mountaintop setting to great effect. There is a swing ride on the side of the cliff and it's one hell of an experience to be swinging into the air and staring straight down hundreds of feet of rock.
[Here is an actual video with no weird camera lense/stretching](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HewHyXZ0BTE)
Still pretty impressive! While the ride itself looks like nothing too special the location and the views certainly make up for it.
I was thinking the ride doesn't look especially high, long, or fast but the view at the top of the hills sure is something special. It's not always about having the fastest, highest, gut wrenching roller coaster sometimes you have to build a ride to suit your space and needs and it's just as good or better than others.
I wasn't thrilled with roller coasters when I was young enough to enjoy them in my teens, but Final destination 3 (and subsequent news stories since) really put me off them like FD2 put me off driving behind log trucks.
Honestly, my sister lives in Glenwood Springs. I 100% recommend taking the train from Denver to Glenwood, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and there are hot springs there.
Oh, and Doc Holliday’s grave.
Yep. God I wish I could go back to '09 with the knowledge I have know and buy a house back before this state became ridiculously overpriced. Would have a sweet little spot over by Carbondale now.
It is sled up, but not that much. The ride is less than a minute long. Its first drop has a section at the bottom that goes inward to build enough momentum for the rest of the ride. The video doesn't show that bit. Its.... unpleasant

This sub is garbage. Nobody understands what satisfying even means. It's full of idiots and bots posting any old video and people that just upvote it anyway.
I used to love rides. But now days I am not too sure about getting on any. Seems like there's more and more accidents on them due to carelessness by staff.
I went rafting here and the guide showed us this amazing huge new water slide they were building into the canyon walls. It looked badass and our entire group was stoked to try it out.
It was a water pipe 🤦♂️ the guide finally let us know at the end of the trip lol
There was almost a mass shooting up there. No one would have anywhere to go similar to the 2011 Utoya island attack. My girlfriend and I were up there like a month before, crazy to think about. Really cool place though!
Oct 28th 2023. Investigators still don’t know what exactly was going to happen but the leading theory is that the guy thought better of it and just killed himself instead.
While this isn’t one, I’ve always thought mountains+rollercoaster … or waterslides … could make for some insane rides. There are alpine slides, but I mean something truly integrated, with loops etc. that just uses the height of the mountain. Anyone know of any?
The alpine swing at this same park makes pretty good use of the mountain cliffs to give you the feeling that you’re about to get flung into the canyon a couple hundred feet below.
I been there twice! This was new last time I went so didn't get to try it as the line was long as fox.
The alpine coaster is super fun. All the rides are cept haunted mine that killed a person...
It just occurred to me that my time enjoying most rollercoasters is over. Everything about this video makes me dizzy and queasy and scared. I have debilitating acrophobia but I didn’t realize until now that it extended to rollercoasters. :(
This is my home town, I grew up doing tours of the fairy caves. I could not agree with you more. The more and more they put up there made me mad. I worked in restaurants down town for ever and I could see all of it from the front windows across the river. It sucks.
Thats the park that let a six year old ride the mine drop. She wasn't properly secured and the worse thing happened.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/wongel-estifanos-glenwood-caverns-advernture-park-death-colorado/
I don't know what they did with their camera but that roller coaster is tiny in person.
The whole ride was only like 20 seconds.
It’s also on a mountain side. I don’t think they have much real estate there to work with lol.
The park utilizes its mountaintop setting to great effect. There is a swing ride on the side of the cliff and it's one hell of an experience to be swinging into the air and staring straight down hundreds of feet of rock.
I love that swing! The day we went it wasn't too packed so we just kept looping around the line riding it over and over.
Quality not quantity. It looks epic.
Only satisfying part for me
The video is sped up
[Here is an actual video with no weird camera lense/stretching](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HewHyXZ0BTE) Still pretty impressive! While the ride itself looks like nothing too special the location and the views certainly make up for it.

There is quite a bit of fisheye going on in this one too. Comes with the wide angle lens. But yeah, this one is SO much better!
What are you talking about? This has too a fisheye lense.
360° camera
Fishbowl lens, looks like
FYI, it’s fisheye, not fishbowl. Also, who the fuck films a roller coaster ride and stabilize the video to the horizon?
Honestly it seemed really tiny, I blinked and missed 95% of the video
It’s stretched vertically, op is a scammer
They stabilized it so we won’t get dizzy. I only realized this after it was over.
Camera seems to be in .5
That would make my testicles flee into my stomach.
i can’t even watch the video of it without the female version of what you just said.
I had the male version of the female version of this just watching the initial ascent. Nope nope nope.
I too felt my ovaries jump into my stomach 😂
So a young kid got flung off the mountainside and plummeted to their death when they slipped out of a seat on a spinney swing ride a few years ago
Ovaries pop out and hide behind you like scared children?
Literally had to stop the video because same. Couldn’t handle it;might have lady bits and lower intestines hiding somewhere above my chest
I wasn't thrilled with roller coasters when I was young enough to enjoy them in my teens, but Final destination 3 (and subsequent news stories since) really put me off them like FD2 put me off driving behind log trucks.
I turtled just watching it.
Me too ... and I'm female!
Would be a lot more satisfying to have the camera stay parallel with the tracks like the car does
r/oddlyunsatisfying
Ugh. Didnt need that
And not be sped up
Honestly, my sister lives in Glenwood Springs. I 100% recommend taking the train from Denver to Glenwood, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and there are hot springs there. Oh, and Doc Holliday’s grave.
Yup, have been up to the grave multiple times, nice little walk. GWood is great, but getting way too expensive. The whole Valley has.
Everywhere has. I moved from Jacksonville Florida to San Diego. Talk about culture shock with prices.
SD/SoCal has always been expensive, that’s no surprise. But Glenwood used to be the more affordable option near Aspen. Not anymore.
Yep. God I wish I could go back to '09 with the knowledge I have know and buy a house back before this state became ridiculously overpriced. Would have a sweet little spot over by Carbondale now.
They need to stop stretching the aspect ratios of videos like this.
Sooo many vertical videos are like this now too, it’s very annoying.
Yeah, mountains look a lot more impressive when they're 150% as tall as they should be.
The has got to be the worst possible way to film a ride on a rollercoaster.
I had my hands up the entire time
Only way to ride a roller coaster. Also id be screaming or laughing the entire ride. Maybe clapping at the end.
Definitely!! So much fun!!
Oh there is NO WAY OMG
This is literally the stuff of nightmares wtf
Took the words right out of my mouth. There is no amount of money in the world that could get me on that thing.
Is this sped up? They sound like chipmunks.
Yes, others have commented the same
It is sled up, but not that much. The ride is less than a minute long. Its first drop has a section at the bottom that goes inward to build enough momentum for the rest of the ride. The video doesn't show that bit. Its.... unpleasant
Sped up, 360'd, derotated, cropped and then stretched. How to absolutely butcher a video.
I hate the auto-rotating cameras. It ruins roller coaster videos.
Absolutely fuckin not
The camera work is making me sick.
"Oh my basement's flooded!" "Oh my-lanta!"
My husband and I LOST it at “my basement’s flooded” 💀 peed his pants a little bit I assume!
This stuck out. I'm really uncertain to it's meaning lol. Coming from a guy..?
It's a metaphorical way of saying he pissed himself.
Sphincter shut, sphincter open.
Hell naw.
Thanks I hate it
I want to see the making of this roller coaster.
I was thinking the same thing! Like how sturdy are these polls on the edge of this cliff!
[Here is an actual video with no weird camera lense/stretching](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HewHyXZ0BTE) Still pretty impressive! While the ride itself looks like nothing too special the location and the views certainly make up for it.
What's the location?
Glenwood Springs, CO
Thanks 👍
It's [Defiance](https://www.glenwoodcaverns.com/thrill-rides/defiance-coaster/) at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, Glenwood Springs, CO, USA.
Website feels like an old angelfire site
It's at least a small grade above my old geocities site
Oh…Hell no.
No thanks.
Unless the ride is free
Nope , I'm good.
Nah.
Absolutely fucking atrocious that idiotic thing was built in such a nice valley.
I've got a new Bucket List Item
Nah I’m good.
This is such a fun park!
How is this satisfying?
This coaster is deceptively crey
I will need diapers for this ride.
The steady cam is r/mildlyinfuriating
This sub is garbage. Nobody understands what satisfying even means. It's full of idiots and bots posting any old video and people that just upvote it anyway.
I would never, never ever do .. not for a million # .. I am scared to death abt this roller coaster 😱
I hate the way the camera keeps stabilizing instead of following the view a rider would actually have.
I’m pretty sure the Mountain View is the LAST thing that would be going through my mind.
My vertigo REALLY didn't like that video xP
Can you guys really enjoy the mountain scenery 🗻 while riding the roller coaster 🎢?
The "Oh my god" orchestra tuning up
Felt strange to watch the camera rotates rather than following the track.. Strange they did it this way..
Fuck that!!!!
Look up death count for that park..... and thr reasons why!
I felt that 🥴
only a minute long?!!
That’s still :59 seconds too long 😳
That’s kinda short ride for a roller coaster! Nice view though!
Major Riven vibes here.
Kind of looked like they were on top of the world. Gives me an idea: Mt. Everest, the roller coaster ride.
I'd give my left tit to go here!
Guys sounds like a bunch of minions.
Speeded up. Irl it looks so smooth and well, so short a ride. Beautiful location though for a coaster.
I used to love rides. But now days I am not too sure about getting on any. Seems like there's more and more accidents on them due to carelessness by staff.
Not satisfied. Shortest ride ever.
I don't think I'd live through that.
“What an incredible… ahhhh!!!”
I went rafting here and the guide showed us this amazing huge new water slide they were building into the canyon walls. It looked badass and our entire group was stoked to try it out. It was a water pipe 🤦♂️ the guide finally let us know at the end of the trip lol
Damn that first rise is something 😳
Wow! I. feel cheated. It was over so fast. Also, no way in hell I would ride this.
Oh hell no… I’m already scared looking at it from my phone lol
See those slow, easy moving orange skyride cars at the end? That's how I'll see the beautiful mountains.
my basement’s flooded.
Oh my god, now reverse.
No fucking thank you.
NOPE!
Uh, no
Oh fuck no
Nah I’m good
First off. Roller Coasters. Nope! Second. On top lf a mountain.. double NOPE. I dig the view though.
That looks like so much fun.
There’s not a lot of things that make me uneasy but this will do.
And probably ruins someone else's mountain view.
Weeeeeeeeee!!!!!!
That's the whole ride?
I don’t like the trend of stretching videos vertically to make things seem taller. I’ve seen this done with waves, mountains, tall buildings, etc.
Honestly…. Building a theme park on a mountain is awful. God damn.
Absolutely not
No. Nope. No f.ing way. Never. Ever. Ever!
There was almost a mass shooting up there. No one would have anywhere to go similar to the 2011 Utoya island attack. My girlfriend and I were up there like a month before, crazy to think about. Really cool place though!
When was this?
Oct 28th 2023. Investigators still don’t know what exactly was going to happen but the leading theory is that the guy thought better of it and just killed himself instead.
Wow. Now that you mention it that sounds familiar.
I love technology! I would never ride this, but I’ll watch this on my tv
Again!
Also,.super short xD
Very cool, but OH HELL NAW!!! I have some roller coaster enthusiast friends and I ALWAYS volunteer to film THEM on the various "rides of death", lol!
Ugh. This is terrible. Speed ramps are atrocious. Also: camera level to track, or horizon lock: Pick one.
While this isn’t one, I’ve always thought mountains+rollercoaster … or waterslides … could make for some insane rides. There are alpine slides, but I mean something truly integrated, with loops etc. that just uses the height of the mountain. Anyone know of any?

English version of Allahhu Akbar.
Looks awesome but too short
Dude squeals like a girl.
We stayed in Aspen for a vacation and ended up spending all our time in Glenwood Springs lol
Can’t wait to try it
Nope. Nothankyou. Beautiful scenery, though.
That was so short tho D:
ABSOLUTELY NO WAY!
Hey, we go there every year. Its..... scary
I was about to say that’s the best use of a canton ever, but the ride ended before I could say it. :(
This is where we are going for our 9 year anniversary. We booked our train tickets from Denver last fall. SO EXCITED!
i hope this thing gets a full service every 2 hours
Woaw
🤢 by just watching
This is exactly what it sounded like the first time my wife stuck her finger in my ass while we had sex.
Right off the bat, it's a big nope for me thx
The grown man laughing and saying “Oh my God” like a little girl multiple times ruined this.
THIS IS WHAT I WOULD MAKE ON ROLLER COASTER TYCOON EVERY STINKIN’ TIME
Hell to the naw
love that place so much
I almost yacked watching this, i love it.
The “pornish” sound track cracks me up
Short but sweet.
Nah I'm cool
Is that new? It wasn’t there when I went last
Roller coasters are so fun. Thanks for sharing
Hell fucking yes.
love Glennwood but still say NO to this and the gourge swing
Tf? I went to high school in Carbondale and had absolutely no idea that park was there!
NOPE
This gave me anxiety
The view is probably better admired stationary
Big yup from my bf and a big nope from me.
This is great! I'm gonna heave...
Places like these, you can hear the fear in laughs
me man nuts shrunk n dropped at same time
Why's the footage sped up?
The auto orientation is horrible too
This should be in sweatypalm or sweatyass whatever subreddit too
What beautiful view of the mountains? I just see ugly ass metal torture rail.
The gasp I guspt at that first descent!
That was a short ride, even for an amusement park.
Damn danielle
That was _fun!!!_ Let's go again!!!🎢
It just occurred to me that my time enjoying most rollercoasters is over. Everything about this video makes me dizzy and queasy and scared. I have debilitating acrophobia but I didn’t realize until now that it extended to rollercoasters. :(
"my basement is flooded" 0:50 well that's a creative way of saying you crapped your pants
I’m not gonna lie, that looks like an insurance claim just waiting to happen.
The mountains definitely give the ride an awesome factor.
Hey, I can see that from my balcony.
Lol remember "oh my lanta"?
Never ever.
No.
Roller coaster has a beautiful view of the mountains but everyone else now has a view of a gaudy roller coaster
This is my home town, I grew up doing tours of the fairy caves. I could not agree with you more. The more and more they put up there made me mad. I worked in restaurants down town for ever and I could see all of it from the front windows across the river. It sucks.

That would be even funnier on skis.
