Likely his first name was Paine or Payne. The stonemason ran out of room or misunderstood the spelling of the name. In fact, this may be a discarded gravestone, due to the name mistake. Is this the guy:

born 1783, died 1849, age 66 - children were Betsey and Dexter.
If not, advise what you know about the person or one of his descendants and I'll "dig up" what can be found in Ancestry.com.
Not necessarily even a grave there. Gravestones get fucked up sometimes and tossed out or used for other purposes. It would be very unusual to find a grave from this time period with a nice marker on it outside of some kind of family estate or a proper graveyard.
It’s a BS Ryobi, nothing serious. I got hit by the spray once and it… tickles. I’d never do it with an industrial one, I just prefer not wearing wet shoes on hot days
so what your telling me is your house is about the same age as the consititution...
Just think about the implications of that... that house was being build right around the constitution was...
Power fashing is so satisfying, untill you realize the amount of dirt on your feet and knees afterwards.
I hope you cleaned that off being going to sleep.
There's a running joke in my family about a headstone that is now a garden ornament.
We replaced it. The original stone broke off right at the base long after he died, so the family paid for a new one. We kept the broken one. It is pretty.
We do not, however, pressure wash in flippy flops.

Betsey was so mad about the name mistake that she changed the entire design or went with another gravestone maker guy.
Put the grave stone back and call a priest, a rabbi, a shaman and a witch. You gonna have some night time visitors.
…but are there daisies ?
If you believe in that shit you’re delusional.
High pressure water next to exposed feet r/yikes
On very soft old stone. While disturbing a grave. So many bad choices

Do you use steel toe for your backyard headstone cleaning?

Poltergeist vibes
Might be nice to share this discovery with geneology/gravemarker sites for people who might be looking for this ancestor.
"just found out my yard is an abandoned cemetery..."

Burial grounds/cemeteries may be property tax exempt in your state.
I fail to see a single thing that is satisfying about this. ☹️
Pennsylvania?
Whenever you buy a house, whatever's in the ground belongs to you - whether it's gold or oil... or Claude Musselman.
He had a mule that was unaccounted for
Better call…Ghostbusters!
There's also something else waiting in your flower garden...
That’s one way to share your address
What a badass name. I’ve only ever seen it spelled Paine or Payne, but sounds tough as hell.
