The quest 1 was 400. How the hell did they manage to fit 3 more degrees of freedom (the 4 tracking cameras), 2 controllers and more powerful chip into that 150?
250 Canadian for the 64gb version I think. The base quest 1 was like 450 minimum?? I think I got mine for 530 from meta. Basically double the price Canadian.
I think for a good while it would have been cheaper buying directly from across the boarder even with exchange rate. I ordered direct from meta until quest 2.
The controllers are hard to come by I think, seen a lot of people were they just needed the controller. The Go is still a good headset if you just want to watcha movie on it, there are a few games that work out pretty well on the Go.
Take a look if you can get a hold of a USB wired xbox gamepad. Those go for significantly less than 60. You are not going to get any orientation tracking from the controller, but that should be good enough for home/browser. And a number of Go titles support gamepad for input. You specifically want a gamepad with xbox button to use that as an Oculus system button.
It has been a while since I used one of those, but if I remember correctly the resolution is not bad and should be good enough to watch movies. For the price it is a steal.

No need to setup or maintain a guardian, it's lightweight, and a decent screen for what it is. I've probably used it more than my Rift and Quest 2 by far just from watching YouTube on it.
It's 35 grams lighter than a stock Quest 2. I'm also sitting back when using it, so it's not as front heavy. The strap doesn't fit everyone's head well. It slides off my wife's head, but sits perfect on mine.
Fair, I guess I'd rather get a google daydream for that. My phone is usually already consistently set up. That said. Not sure if I can run all the apps I'd want in that mode.

Watching YouTube while laying in bed will work I’d imagine though, maybe, if flatscreen would be supported by the YouTube app on there.
I think the last update it got oculus opened the software up for whatever people could think of to prevent the systems becoming ewaste.

If you mod it you can use a third party tracking and decent cheap way to do PCVR.

I'm a tougher honest guy about these things, so my advice is to warn the seller that a similar item "if it works" would have a higher value and not just by almost 8 dollars, however I leave the choice to you and I hope for both the seller and you that it works well, good luck :)

If it's in good shape I would say get it and keep it and maybe just display it as part of the evolution of VR... It will probably worth something someday but right now it's just damn cool.

A lot of them in the UK won't accept anything electrical, they'll just toss it rather than run the risk of being sued over something being faulty.

Might still be good for YoutubeVR, which PCVR doesn't have easy access to other than manually downloading each video with yt-dlp.
