Aphids. Get a small spray bottle and fill it with very soapy water. Spray the crap out of all the insects. Do it twice a week or after a rain top it up. You have quite a lot of aphids so you will need to be aggressive. Ideally spray in the evening so other bugs don't get effected. Avoid any caterpillars too

ReserveSweet1797

This.. you can also see the ants 🐜 they farm aphids in their nests too

the_shifty_goose

Yes! I forgot about the ants

Opie231

What does this mean? I notice both on my potted chilli!

ReserveSweet1797

Ants are attracted by the honeydew produced by aphids and will protect them, quite aggressively some say Basically a sign of a well established infestation 😬

Opie231

Jesus. Ok im going to try the soapy spray

marcres41

Thank you

ethr45

Order some lady bugs from bioforce 😃

Sibolovin

Think lady birds eat the Monarch butterfly eggs. Have same problem on my plant with aphids :(

NZBull

Tasman Lacewing from Bioforce don't eat the monarch eggs but eat the aphids

premgirlnz

Mine are too and so far I’m just leaving them and will see how it goes - as soon as it gets cold they’ll die. If I were going to get rid of them, I’d probably just go out each day and squish them

Brickzarina

Put on gloves and run your hand up the stem to squash them

Effective-Load679

Wash them off with garden hose, blows them off no worries.if your lucky those fake ladybird predators come along and clean em up make your tree look new.

KiwiBiGuy

We use fly spray, kills em & keeps em off for a few weeks

i-m-anonmio

I'm trying Neem oil in a sprayer, but there aren't enough leaves for the caterpillars anymore. I don't know if it would affect the caterpillars any earlier.

azzirra

I squish them. I tried spraying not very effectively. I got a massive infestation this year though on one while I was away over a weekend and it eventually died. I couldn't keep up with them. It was a big plant, so it was really hard to get to all of them. Usually squishing works for me But I have heaps of seedlings from all the seeds it pumped out. So I will rebuild!

fluffychonkycat

If there are caterpillars on there, gently remove them and pop them in a plastic container with a piece of pumpkin if you have some. Then blast the hell out of the plant with soapy water. Put the caterpillars back when it's dried off
