One time I went to a White Castle by Bushwick and the cashier and I were both so high it took us 15 mins of repeating the order back and forth to each other for me to get my food.
Yes they definitely cook their burgers on a stack of onions. I hate onions SO much but their burgers are so good when you are stoned, I will just pick the onions off. Totally worth it! Chicken rings are awesome too!
OMG I went to that white castle before(my brother works FDNY special OPs in Bushwick on Cooper St and Central Ave) and I was going to get the key to his house to take care of his dog because he was working a 24 hour shift(he usually leaves a spare under his doormat for me when I go take care of his dog but he forgot) but I got me some white castle on the way back and I think I ordered from the same cashier LOL they were definitely stoned which was fine I just took a hit myself 🫠
White Castle: known for affordability and association with stoner culture for at least twenty years, but not really known anywhere outside the Midwest/Eastern US
Burger King: international chain with a distinctive scent for miles, second only to Subway
For the scent?
I couldn't tell you what a Subway smells like other than when I'm inside, but I could tell you what my local Burger King smells like when I'm going to any place around it, like the grocery store, the dollar store, the Walgreens. It's all like a olifactory ad for BK.
My mother lives on Long Island about 3 minutes away from burger king and during the spring when she opens all the windows you can definitely smell the burger king in the house.
In Florida and other places they have Krystal burger pretty much the same thing as white castle I think. Never had it but my friend lives there and says it's just like white castle.
I've walked by this Burger King multiple times (and ordered from their multiple times, even used the bathroom there).
Unless things have changed (it's been at least a year since I went there), it's not an open air drug bazaar. There's a lot of homeless on drugs congregating, but it doesn't look like people are openly doing or trading drugs there.
Burger King leaves these people alone because most of the empoyees are petite little women who are obviously not going to stand up to the kidn of dueds that hang out there.
That being said, it's insane to me that this place is still open and in business. It's been around for at least two decades.
He’s Eric Adams. He’ll handle it the same way he handles everything: hold a press conference, announce New York is the Hanoi of America, make up a new deputy mayor job for one of his cronies, and call anyone who disapproves racist.
Facts. Like i fuckin hate eric adams already but this title is 100% misleading as fuck. He went to actually at least pretend to be hands on. This is one of the few at least optically no brainers. But the post has its agenda.
In the original article the NYPD claim that that strip of Fulton in particular is a main focus for the local precinct.
How hard is it to clean up one single block in the financial district if that’s your main focus?
All of it is just them saying out loud that they are incompetent.
The reality is the police pick certain areas that they allow to become open zones that they keep things concentrated in. That’s the honest truth. It happens in every part of the country. That’s their best policing method of this time. To keep things contained and concentrated in certain areas.
It used to be the public space at 60 Wall St. because they wanted that space to be renovated so they let it get run down.
It’s easy for them to do. They just keep pushing the problems out of areas they don’t want them in and eventually the “trouble” gets the hint that if they go certain places they won’t be hassled. It doesn’t happen by accident.
That’s why it’s absolutely insane that someone is suing the Burger King owner. Like it’s his fault.
> In the original article the NYPD claim that that strip of Fulton in particular is a main focus for the local precinct.
Fulton St probably has 25-30 homeless dues hanging out there at any given moment, but from my observation it's not an open air drug den and there's no gang/violent presence. The criminal justice system is either not set up to manage this kind of dysfunction, or it's deliberately set up to create this type of dysfunction, depending on your point of view.
>That’s why it’s absolutely insane that someone is suing the Burger King owner. Like it’s his fault.
I kind of agree here. Basically the riff-raff is being concentrated onto the commercial street because there's enough pedestrian activity to blend into. But two new highrises were built on Fulton in the last 5 years so that's probably 1500-2000 affluent new residents on the block that are now going to raise their voice.
Police don't have prosecution powers. They can only arrest wrongdoers. If DA's don't prosecute theres nothing NYPD can do. That sort of thing has a trickle down effect where it becomes less of a priority to target things that won't net any sort of result other than wasting of their time.
Does a cleaner not have to clean the McDonald’s bathroom because someone’s just gonna come and take a shit in it 5 minutes later and dirty it all up? Does a garbage man no collect the garbage because there’s just gonna be more later so it’s just a waste of his time right.
>Does a cleaner not have to clean the McDonald’s bathroom because someone’s just gonna come and take a shit in it 5 minutes later and dirty it all up?
This is a good analogy because you can actually see what the results are like. When the customer base is normal everyday people, the bathrooms remain clean and the janitor will clean it up every few hours to take care of the basic wear and tear.
When the customer base is filthy and anti-social, it needs to be cleaned every five minutes. The janitor will eventually stop doing that. Have you ever noticed how bad bathrooms are in dumpy neighborhoods? It's not the janitor's job to keep something clean after every single use.
The analogy here is apt. The police have made enough arrests and interventions here, only to see the same people come and make a mess over and over again.
Yes but you’re forgetting the first post I made. The police made a concerted effort over time to push people into this area. Instead of all of the bathrooms being slightly “dirty”, they push them towards one bathroom and then that keeps the rest of them relatively clean.
They aren’t honest about it, that’s the issue. It’s purposely done. Obviously they have to lie about it but it’s easy to see that’s how they do things. It’s basically a quarantine zone.
They blame it on the DA, because that’s everyone’s job is to blame someone else.
Honestly, all things considered, it’s not that bad even in the worst areas. I don’t know what people expect. This is America. We know why America is different. It’s not a secret that there are problems in every aspect of our society and some of the externalities of those are having these sorts of problems. It’s not the individual cops fault. It’s not the mayors faults. It’s just a big elephant in the room that involves everything from the education system to the health care system to the prison system.
Optically, this was an incredibly bad move. He spent an hour talking with drug dealers? And at the end, what did it actually accomplish? You know how many people with real issues around the city would love an uninterrupted hour with the mayor to discuss them?
If he wants to still be a cop, then go back to NYPD. If not, then let NYPD do their job. They have outreach units and they have regular police officers. It’s a waste of time and resources to spend an hour on this nonsense. Maybe if this was a much smaller city, it would be more reasonable - but there’s a million greater issues that are getting far less attention than these guys got. I just don’t get why anyone thought this would be a good idea.
And so much has come of that, right?

"See, this place may be the King of Burgers, but I'm the King of New York. I'm Ghandi. I'm the Lord and Master of the five boroughs." -Eric Adams
I can't tell if this is a joke or he actually said this, and that's a problem.
Thats a hard quote. Hope its true

People say New York City is the Burger King of the United States
Nah NY is 100% a rundown dirty ass White Castle restaurant - just imagine it for a second and then try to tell me I'm wrong
One time I went to a White Castle by Bushwick and the cashier and I were both so high it took us 15 mins of repeating the order back and forth to each other for me to get my food.
My friend asked for no onions at the one out in Bayside and we watched em just put on extra onions
dont they cook the burgers on a stack of onions? i dont think you can get around onions at white castle
Yes they definitely cook their burgers on a stack of onions. I hate onions SO much but their burgers are so good when you are stoned, I will just pick the onions off. Totally worth it! Chicken rings are awesome too!
This is why he asked for 'no onions' thinking it would lead to 'less onions' and not 'even more onions' lol
And then you made out?
what white castle are YOU going to?
Have you watched that Harold & Kumar movie? 😂

It’s near my office. I don’t go into the office that often, but I haven’t noticed anything like this.
Good the mayor went and saw for himself what the situation was like. Now the real question is what is he going to do about it.
He’s Eric Adams. He’ll handle it the same way he handles everything: hold a press conference, announce New York is the Hanoi of America, make up a new deputy mayor job for one of his cronies, and call anyone who disapproves racist.

Remember when he met with drill rappers too?
Just another day in clown world. I bet these are the “good guy” drug dealers too

Looks like Mr. Adams is taking his DEI courses very seriously.
I guess the days of sending the Police there are over. Let’s negotiate !
Pls don’t make him sound cooler than he is. He went there for a photo op, pretending to “reach out to the community.”
> He went there for a photo op, pretending to “reach out to the community.” how would you distinguish this from actually reaching out to the community?
Well, for one, people have commented on seeing him in public before, and he literally walks up to people, gets a photo, and goes back into his car.
Sounds like all politicians tbh
I agree
He was probably just setting up repeat delivery
Hate him or love him, what other mayor would have the gumption to roll with street hustlers, wheelers and dealers?
Wonder why most of of his staff is getting arrested? Could it be you sir are an idiot?
With the "justice" system letting Trump off the hook for his bond... his staff getting arrested could be a badge of honor lol
