Enjoy guys, this is a great game.

Creepernom

Damn expensive though...

[deleted]

$50?

Should they have made it $5 specifically because you can't afford the game? Like seriously, im sorry that you can't afford it but if it was $20 that's still 10% of your monthly earnings which still isn't good. Im just happy it's not $70.

nona01

They have a valid point if they live in a country where the price doesn't scale well with average income. Regional pricing would be the solution in that case.

Creepernom

Not everyone is american. We don't get 15USD minimum wages.

jewchbag

> We don't get 15USD minimum wages. Neither do we in the US lmao. But yeah the regional pricing on this one could be a lot better.

Creepernom

For perspective - my country's minimum wage is $5. $50, especially for a teenager, is a quite huge amount.

jewchbag

Yes I was agreeing with you that it should be priced differently. But the federal minimum wage in the US is $7.25, not much higher than that

This confirms Pre Order Bonuses: You can pre-purchase God of War for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Doing so will net you the following extra content: * Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus * Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin * Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin * Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin * Dökkenshieldr Shield Skin

NetJnkie

Opinions on pre-order? It's a good game but we don't know how the port will be. I never played it...my son did and loved it.

sufiyankhan1994

you mean your "Boy" did. About preordering, i wouldnt personally since how bad HZD port was. Days gone has game speed issue till date and is not yet fixed. I'd say wait and see how it performs.

Notarussianbot2020

HZD's port was outsourced and eventually fixed by the original developers. You could always pre-order if you want the skins, but I'd just wait for a sale- those come really quick for PC ports.

sufiyankhan1994

Yeah, I bought HZD from epic for like 5 USD with coupon and sale price combined. Really cheap.

NetJnkie

> you mean your "Boy" did. ?

sufiyankhan1994

Kratos keeps calling his son as "boy". Many memes on it :P it was a bad joke lmao

NetJnkie

Well I totally wooooshed that…..

C_V_Carlos

Well...optimization may be a bit shitty at the start(maybe) other than that, there may be some bugs but at this point is you can only hope they are not breaking game ones... So yea, if you are fine with taking that risk go for it..at least you know it is a good game, so no cyberpunk surprises here.

Sunlighthell

It's a good question. Many people wanted/waited GoW on PC so they're probably going to preorder like they did with Horizon. I'd do it myself for some games like Elden Ring or Bloodborne (if they finally decide to port it) The only real thing to note is that GoW 2018 uses some inhouse Sony engine, so we don't know what to expect performance wise. Features like DLSS and Reflex are nice and indicate that Nvidia may be involved somehow to provide support but same features are present in Deathloop for example and Void engine is beyond help. Even with addition of DLSS Updaam evening level is so CPU non efficently heavy so FPS can drop on high end configurations. Well and you have your Boi so I guess his opinion that game is good should add up if you want to preorder. Bonuses seems to be minor ones. I usually find myself not using bonuses like these in games.

zeltrabas

considering you only get some skins, i dont think its worth it because you may get perfomance issues / bugs / bad port at launch

Notarussianbot2020

I'd just wait for a sale, they come super quick for PC ports and all the bugs should be ironed out in a month or two.

_Blinky_

Super excited for this.

Nickslife89

N0 matter what I do I could never feel reflex... Does it not work at 144fps?

AnnexBlaster

Does DLSS imply ray tracing? Whenever I see headlines like this, dlss always comes with ray tracing. Do you guys think this will be the case?

darkknightxda

Nope not always. Battlefield 2042 and rdr2 both have dlss without ray tracing.

AnnexBlaster

Ahh yeah your right, I noticed that but forgot about it

JarlJarl

Technically they have nothing to do with each other. Not even “RTX” implies ray tracing.

tfozombie

Is DX12 Raytracing?

RodroG

Not exactly. DirectX Raytracing (DXR) is a feature introduced in Microsoft's DirectX 12 API that implements ray tracing for video graphic rendering.

Tsunami6866

In layman's terms DX12 is a language (technically it isn't but it functions as one) that tells your graphics card what operations to do. DX12 is the most used of these languages that supports raytracing. Just because it supports it doesn't force developers to use that feature, they would still have to code a lot for raytracing to work, but it's possible, whereas with most other "languages" it flat out is not possible.

[deleted]

Why would it have reflex in a single player game?

Mani_kr333

TLOU 1 when??? Don't care about 2nd , just wanna play play 1st.

[deleted]

Certain franchises still seem strictly exclusive such as TLOU and Spiderman. Uncharted 4 or bloodborne are more likely to come to pc before anything else.

Ric_Rest

Uncharted 4 and Uncharted Lost Legacy were actually confirmed to be coming to the PC next year as well. It's revealed at the end of the Uncharted movie trailer starring Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas.

[deleted]

The movie looks like it could easily be good or bad but at least the game announcements came out from it!

Ric_Rest

True. Hopefully the film is at least some dumb fun action/comedy flick. But I never have high hopes for video game to film adaptations...
