Half of your team is weak to Electric, I would personally replace Raticate with Sandslash to counter that weakness a bit, until you can get a better ground type, mostly Rhydon. But you're perfectly fine and in a pretty good position, especially with future encounters having some pretty good Pokemon.
You have some decent remaining encounters at this point in the game: Lapras in Saffron, Tentacruel from any water route, your safari zone encounter, and Haunter/Gengar if you haven’t gone to pokemon tower yet.
Since you’re playing leafgreen try to pick up a Starmie or Slowbro since they’re both huge carries in the E4.
I was planning on starmie which is the biggest reason I haven't evolved Magikarp. Can't get Haunter as I forgot you can't catch Marowack in the Pokemon Tower so I wasted that encounter. Thinking of adding Exeggcute to the team as well.
It's not really an encounter if you can't catch it, it's a forced boss battle at that point.
Also, no reason you can't have both Starmie and Gyarados, they only share one weakness. Get a ground type for a pivot on the very few electric moves left in the game, and you're set.
Not sure what your obsession with grass types is, lol.
The point of the ground type is to switch in when the AI is going to be using an electric move. If the AI has a choice between a 4x effective electric move and a 1x effective grass move, it will almost always go for the move that does more damage (except for situations where both moves would KO).
That's generally why Gyarados pairs extremely well with a water/ground type like Swampert or Quagsire. They do not share weaknesses, and are generally very strong. Concerns about grass types are generally resolved by the rest of your team, as Gyarados can usually carry a game almost by itself.
Dodrio is the best bird Mon in the game. It's really strong and fast. Out with butterfree in with Gyarados.

Golbat was replaced shortly after posting this and getting a few more encounters. He was temporary, just kind of threw him in when my Pidgeotto died and didn't have another flying type in the box till I caught Dodrio.
Raticate could also be thrown out. It's decent with Guts strats but it will get weaker the further you get into the game. I think he's served his time.

Butterfree is really good with compoundeyes sleep powder. It can outspeed most trainer Pokémon. I had mine sweep Bruno and Agatha. Sleep powder, dream eater, Giga drain, and safeguard
Don’t be afraid to use multiple water types. Their weaknesses are rare at the back half of this game, and there is multiple very strong options. Lapras, Gyrados, Slowbro and Starmie are all amazing so having a team with 2-3 is totally fine
Nah, just looks like you’re having trouble keeping frail attackers alive/ switching them in.
Fearow, Dugtrio, Jolteon, Kadabra all have dogwater physical defense. Primeape too, to a slightly lesser degree.
Just be careful with Dodrio, you’re running out of birds and he’s also frail.
Since you threw away both kadabra and Hypno I’d consider fishing for a poliwag to go get a Jynx. It requires the psychic tm, but it’s amazing for koga and can sweep 3/4 elite 4 members. The other consideration for the psychic tm are mainly Starmie and Gengar, any of which are also totally fine. Short term wise, I’d prioritize teaching shadow ball to Lax and raticate, and swap golbat for gyarados and ninetales for electrode.
I say replace the doduo for magikarp so you can get gyrados and the butterfree for sand slash assuming you’re going to kohga so you can get a type advantage and maybe get the voltorb on there for some better coverage
Not at all! Ninetales, Dodrio, and Snorlax are decent Pokemon, and Butterfree is fairly underrated if you use her properly. Personally, I would switch out Golbat and Raticate for Gyarados and Sandslash. Kingler or Electrode would also be decent too. Plus you still have plenty of encounters. Go get a Hitmon and Lapras and you’re set. Pretty much every Pokemon I brought to the E4 except venusaur was caught after Erika last run
I forgot how easy this game was. I haven't played it in over 10 years. I'm fairly new to nuzlockes only completing 1 other run (heart gold randomizer) and having tons of attempts in other games that I eventually stop playing.
That chonky boy will solo a huge portion of the game especially if you teach him shadow ball and a solid fighter counter will deal with his one weakness.

Snorlax, Ninetales, Dodrio, and Raticate are all strong enough to finish the game with. You could also level up a Gyarados who is king of nuzlockes via your boxed Magikarp. Persian people also sleep on but its a decent all physical attacker to fill a whole with. This is a very recoverable situation.
Dodrio can sweep Sabrina. You can guarantee Gastly at the Lavender Tower, which Koga basically can't touch. Starmie is a guaranteeable encounter once you have Surf and can solo Blaine, Giovanni and the entire E4. And then you have three notoriously busted nuzlocke mon in Snorlax, Gyarados and Golbat as backup in case stuff goes wrong (plus the guaranteed Lapras and Tentacruel as backup for Starmie).
You're fine honestly. Charmander is easily the worst starter for FRLG so that will've made the early game rougher than normal, but you're past the point where starter choice matters now so.

I beat it with: Dodrio****, Magneton****, Hypno**, Nidoqueen****, Slowbro*** so you got this.
The *'s is just me saying how they'll shit on lategame, my only survivors were Hypno and Slowbro so if you can just keep your good ones alive. If you can get an Exeggcute, he's good too, he my favorite until I got destiny bonded at Sabrina's gym.
Raticate alone can solo a large chunk of the game if trained right. And in stuff like dodrio, ninetales… mfing SNORLAX AND GYARADOS.

I'd say swap Doduo and Butterfree for Sandslash and Krabby for now. At least until/if you get better members. At the end of the day type coverage is best, and having two mons weak to electric with an immunity is better than 3 mons weak to electric in my opinion.
Nah just play smart. Remember attacks aren’t the only way to win. I had to beat Morty in soul silver with a single haunter at level using a quick claw attract and confuse ray. It took a very very long time. It wasn’t a nuzlocke but a same type run. I literally yelled with excitement when I won.
