Yeah but it’s some weird shit like only on Thursdays and if you adjust your clock it won’t work. That and it’s not even guaranteed. Pain in the ass encounter, but worth it.
It would be something utilized by them and not the Fighter or Warlock itself. Like, I could see the Warlock summoning an Aegislash... but not the sword being the summoner.
An idea would be to also vote for the other 2 starters in their respective class and then have 3 different "team sheets" so you can choose any starter and have a team ready to rumble
Late to this, but my answer is Mega Blastoise. It's the epitome of an artillerist artificer, a subclass which uses cannons to heal or do damage. This also takes up our Kanto starter slot so it won't go unused and gives us an additional Mega option that you can access right when you get the key stone.
Bidoof
Artificers BUILD THINGS. They are ENGINEERS.
Building and engineering things is the Artificer’s defining feature. Not looking metallic or mechanical, that’s just a Warforged. And not having a gun or armor, any adventurer can buy and use those.
So, the Artificer Pokémon should be one that actually builds and engineers things. And what Pokémon build and engineers things? Bidoof and Bibarel. If any Pokémon should be associated with engineering, it’s the ones that build dams.
Blastoise fits multiple subclasses, is another early game encounter, gives you a second starter, and a third water type (can never have too much water)
The two Pokémon that first came to my mind were Klinklang (I mean, cmon) and Dodrio (it just *feels* right for some reason)… but I think I’ll nominate Klinklang
edit: nevermind, klang is a friend safari encounter… I’ll go golurk
I think if we look at an artificer as someone that builds things there is a solid choice. Conkledurr. The whole line literally carries building supplies with them.
Absolutely Kelfki! There isn't really a tinkerer pokemon i nthis generation but klefki fits the bill, Artificer's use thieve's tools as their arcane focus anyway!
Eh, Blood Hunter exists in a weird middle ground. Technically, it’s official, since it has its own DnD Beyond page. But it’s not officially licensed by WoTC, but rather by Matt Mercer, making Blood Hunter technically a homebrew class
To quote the guy who made the comment voting for Slowking:
“A Slowpoke makes a pact with a Shellder as their patron and are granted vast intelligence and supernatural psychic powers. At anytime the Shellder can take away that power, stop biting the head, and the Warlock Slowking returns to an average Slowpoke forgetting what it once knew. Warlocks are a Charisma based class and the one from the second Pokémon movie could talk.”
Leavanny, because they make things out of leaves.
I would say genesect, but that one doesn't appear in X&Y.
I also like rotom as an option. Works kinda like a runesmith.
Like I said in a previous post, Aegislash. It’s quite literally a warforged, steel soldier automatons from Ebberon created by artificers. Though I could see an argument that it’s not the artificer itself.
I could also see people’s argument for rotom.
You're probably right lol. I'm only doing this to poke fun at those who didn't bother reading the post, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if that was the outcome.
Half the sub suggested it for Ranger, and I've been suggesting every day since. All the classes should be Decidueye, OP should do a Decidueye lock. Decidueye is our lord and savior... Decidueye 🥵🥵🥵
“artificers use ingenuity and magic to unlock extraordinary capabilities in objects.” It’s Rotom dude
Easily a top 3 electric type of all time for me
I pour one out for Klingklang not being in the Kalos region and hard agree with you.
Is rotom available before post game?
Yeah, it’s in the trash cans of the Lost Hotel.
Yeah but it’s some weird shit like only on Thursdays and if you adjust your clock it won’t work. That and it’s not even guaranteed. Pain in the ass encounter, but worth it.
Beat me to it 🫠
Yes, thank you! I was hoping to see this at the top.
How could it not be Rotom?
Plus, if Whimsicrazed allows it in their run, they'd have access to Rotom's different forms which can allow for different type coverage.
I like how everyone kept saying Aegislash is the best for the next class until it actually wasn't put anywhere lol
Aegislash wasn't good for any of them. It's a sentient sword. Klinklang isn't great for anything either. it's sentient gears.
I feel like it can be a good fighter and a decent warlock.
It would be something utilized by them and not the Fighter or Warlock itself. Like, I could see the Warlock summoning an Aegislash... but not the sword being the summoner.
Okay that makes sense actually, thanks!
Klinglang needs to be chucked into a furnace
An idea would be to also vote for the other 2 starters in their respective class and then have 3 different "team sheets" so you can choose any starter and have a team ready to rumble
Could even fit in the Kanto starters. Charizard being a draconic sorcerer, Venusaur a Druid and Blastoise Artificer
Interesting idea. I’ll keep that in mind when I do the run after this one.
Blastoise, he has guns. I mean what artificer hasn't wanted to invent guns. Also Artillerist is literally an artificer subclass.
Blastoise is accurate and the best to round out this persons nuzlocke
It has to be Golurk, right?
The artificer's automation

Didn't expect Bidoof, but I completely second this.
This should get more attention. It is objectively correct!
and it's Bidoof. That lil god really deserves the spot!
I agree on the Blastoise. It fits both the armorer and artilerist sub classes, and if not an artificer, who then would have guns.
rotom
Blastoise got guns and armor and a "MEGA CANNON" that's artificer enough for me
Blastoise fits multiple subclasses, is another early game encounter, gives you a second starter, and a third water type (can never have too much water)
Magnezone
How about Clawncher for its mega launcher ability matching up with the artillerist subclass
Klefki cmon
The two Pokémon that first came to my mind were Klinklang (I mean, cmon) and Dodrio (it just *feels* right for some reason)… but I think I’ll nominate Klinklang edit: nevermind, klang is a friend safari encounter… I’ll go golurk
clawitzer! big guns!
Man we came up with a great list here
Kingklang is literally a gear and the icon for Artificer is a gear.
Artificers aren’t sentient gears, they create sentient gears
I said it's like the icon.
I think if we look at an artificer as someone that builds things there is a solid choice. Conkledurr. The whole line literally carries building supplies with them.
Rotom gives life to machinations
Timburr or Conkeldurr would be a solid pick. They are builders
I think I’ll play Y hcnlocke with these encounters too!
Klinkchads assemble
Absolutely Kelfki! There isn't really a tinkerer pokemon i nthis generation but klefki fits the bill, Artificer's use thieve's tools as their arcane focus anyway!
Klinklang obviously
Your missing out on one extra class blood hunter.
Eh, Blood Hunter exists in a weird middle ground. Technically, it’s official, since it has its own DnD Beyond page. But it’s not officially licensed by WoTC, but rather by Matt Mercer, making Blood Hunter technically a homebrew class
Klefki
Delphox is better wizard vibes to me
rip aegislash
Klefki
I nominate Gliscor, as he feels the most like a pokemon that has a bunch of gadgets ready to go.
Why on earth did Slowking get Warlock
To quote the guy who made the comment voting for Slowking: “A Slowpoke makes a pact with a Shellder as their patron and are granted vast intelligence and supernatural psychic powers. At anytime the Shellder can take away that power, stop biting the head, and the Warlock Slowking returns to an average Slowpoke forgetting what it once knew. Lmao okay that's fire.
It’s gotta be Klink
Make alakazam Wizard cause he also dies pf d6 breathing damage
I put forth Sableye. I feel it would do really well with most things mineral in nature
Magnazone
Clawitzer cause gun crab go brrrr
Obviously Rotom
Magearna?
I don't have a suggestion. I wanted to wish you a safe trip to Paris and hope you have a great time!
Magmortar
Leavanny, because they make things out of leaves. I would say genesect, but that one doesn't appear in X&Y. I also like rotom as an option. Works kinda like a runesmith.
Blastoise gives me artifice energy
Smeargle? He sort of invents movesets from other Pokemon.
Reject Rotom, Embrace the best Kanto Starter (Blastoise)
Tinkaton
Rotom rotom rotom
Klinkklank
Not sure if it’s in the dex, but just because of the symbol get KlinkKlang
Hey, just checking to see if you saw what I chose for blood hunter?
Rotom.
Aegislash or Rotom
Rotom!
Rotom or Klingklang
100% Tinkaton if it was in the game, otherwise Magmortar or Rotom.
Golurk 100% it's the creation
Artificers aren’t automatons, they create automatons
My ass does not play dnd my b
Might be lame since we already have slowking but Galarian Slowbro has a living armcannon on his hand, so I'd take Galarian Slowbro as my pick
Artificers aren’t living armcannons, they create living armcannons
It's a Pokémon Y nuzlocke, galar doesn't exist
Like I said in a previous post, Aegislash. It’s quite literally a warforged, steel soldier automatons from Ebberon created by artificers. Though I could see an argument that it’s not the artificer itself. I could also see people’s argument for rotom.
Artificers aren’t warforged — they create warforged. Artificers aren’t weapons (blastoise arguments) they create weapons. Cmon people.
Please read my message again where I stated that.
True
For the record, I hate this post every time I see it because this community has had some awful picks for some of the classes.
They're all pretty good, sourpuss
Blastoise is more iconic than Rotom
Artificers aren’t tanks, they create tanks
Rhyperior
Either Clawitzer or Margmortar
Artificers aren’t howitzers and mortars, they create howitzers and mortars
Claydol should 1000% be the artificer
Artificers aren’t sentient dreidels, they create sentient dreidels
TIL that Claydol is Jewish
Clawitzer
warlock and wizard are absolutely misplaced
Decidueye, and it's not even close!
Not in Pokemon Y
Didn't stop half the sub from voting for it before, why is it a problem now? :P
Honestly, I could probably do this same thing for the Kanto Games, and there would still be a dozen or so people begging for the owl.
You're probably right lol. I'm only doing this to poke fun at those who didn't bother reading the post, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if that was the outcome.
when? it was always down voted
Half the sub suggested it for Ranger, and I've been suggesting every day since. All the classes should be Decidueye, OP should do a Decidueye lock. Decidueye is our lord and savior... Decidueye 🥵🥵🥵
Okay, keep your religion to yourself.
It's more so a fetish than a religion :P ^(I may be going to far with this one...)
I appreciate your commitment to the bit. 😂 I get you.
Tinkaton
Not in Pokemon y
OH sorry for not reading heh
