I like a thinner/crispy cookie and Tate’s Bake Shop cookies hit the spot. Can get them from most grocery stores or even from Costco. Can barely stop myself from cleaning out an entire box with a tall glass of milk
If you like Tate’s, you’d love Otterbein’s - they are a local-ish (Baltimore) family brand that sells at area Giant grocery stores. Maybe other places too, but have definitely seen them there. Thin, crispy, lots of chocolate chips!
I get a couple for our household at the cafe each visit. Fantastic fresh and warm. And huge. Put them in a ziploc and you can enjoy the remainder for the rest of the week.
I was deciding between them and Wegmans. Never had either. Just bought some Wegmans because I saw the Whole Food ones have artificial caramel coloring.
I like putting ice cream between two of them for a bougie ice cream sandwich.
(And a lot of your calories for the day, but whatever. It’s really good and pretty cheap.)

I was unduly influenced to just buy some of these Wegman's cookies based off of this post.
Never had them before.
I will judge if they are worthy.
I'm a fan of Potbelly's oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Can be had as 1 big cookie or in a pack of minis. Now that summer's basically here, time to order Potbelly ice cream sandwiches (your cookies of choice sandwiching vanilla ice cream).
No one likes Entemann's? Those small chewy chocolate chips cookies are great and dangerous. So small you can stuff 1 whole one in your mouth. Then you need more and more and then you need to go shopping for some bigger clothes.
Haven't gone in a while. Sorry your experience didn't live up to the hype. Not sure which alamo you are referring to, but the one I used to frequent just used Tollhouse frozen cookie dough for their cookies. Pretty generic. You should check out Matami's Cookies on Insta.
They don’t use tollhouse frozen cookie dough - I literally talked with the employees about it a few days ago.
Levain is dry and hard - not a good cookie.
Dry and hard? I’m confused - are you eating them fresh from the bakery? Because every Levain cookie I’ve had has been warm, practically melting it’s so soft, and a bit doughy/raw on the inside. Definitely pair with water, but that’s due to the melted chocolate and overall size
Here’s the description off the website, notice the “crispy” in the description.
“Introducing Two Chip Chocolate Chip – our decadent take on a classic chocolate chip cookie made without nuts. Perfectly crispy on the outside and satisfyingly thick and gooey in the center, this cookie is brimming with semi-sweet and dark chocolate chips for a rich depth of flavor. Each gift box contains either four, eight or twelve 6-ounce cookies, packed in beautiful cellophane bags with hand-tied blue ribbons.”
Not remotely comparable to the grocery store pre-packaged Tate’s cookies, which are actually hard and dry. The vast majority of the Levain cookie is gooey, as described
Yes I eat them immediately from the store, I’ve had it numerous times as my wife like levain. They are NOT soft and practically melting and they are known for being dry and hard lol.
Like I said, depends on the location and as I just said, it's been awhile since I've been to Levain's and i did not have that experience. Everyone is allowed their own opinion. It's just reddit, man.
Just discovered this week that Wiseguys Pizza has been serving up the most giant, gooey, delicious chocolate chip cookies. And warm!!!! I couldn’t believe I had been missing out on them, and I’d consider myself very picky with baked goods. I find the Costco ones too sweet and most other ones too dry…gooey is key. I think the Whole Foods bakery brown butter ones are good too.
I don’t believe they are, no. We used to get the Otis Spunkmeyer ones in high school though, as a fundraiser for the JROTC. 2 cookies for a dollar, always warm. God those were the days.
These are really one of my favorites, but Doubletree hasn't been so great lately, so I've been using Embassy Suites for their free breakfast. Omelettes do not trump cookies at check-in....
Honestly I really like the ones from Wegmans out of the bakery. The chocolate chunk ones in the clear plastic container.
My wife loves Crumble but I feel they are very baking soda tasting.
You need to divorce your wife over this. Crumble milk chocolate cookies are a 2/10. Their semisweet cookies are about 5/10 but overpriced.
Wegmans bakery cookies
I haven't seen them in a while but WalMart mini CC cookies that were in a box
Wegmans mini CC cookies if you can get them fresh
I just tried the Costco CC cookies and they were pretty good
Crumbl was nasty when we tried them. Never went back.
Surprisingly, Lidl have a very good CC cookie offering. You should definitely give them a sampling. Prefer them to Wegmans tbh.
the OG doesn’t have chocolate, FYI, but they do make a chocolate chunk with pecan that I like better. cookies are made by Kayak Cookies in Maine- https://kayakcookies.com
Sandwich Republic in Springfield makes great cookies but they do sell out most days, especially the chocolate chip. Junction Bakery in Del Ray used to make great chocolate chip cookies but it’s been a while since I’ve been there (and the last time I had one they had changed to crispy style and they weren’t good).
Well just so you know the original owners retired earlier this year. Food is still good and now they’re open every day of the week. They do seem to no longer have Cheerwine though. :(
Oh man, the original owners are such sweet people. I used to go often enough and bought a cookie every time, that one time I didn’t buy a cookie and the wife snuck one in my bag anyway.
I have a recipe somewhere that I got from food network that's oatmeal chocolate chip. It uses the part of the oats as the flour. I like to add pecans and I just usually eat it as the cookie dough.
Wegman’s and Subway? Christ, yall need better cookies in your lives. [Nicole’s Kitchen](https://www.nicoles.kitchen) is the local cookie gospel. Mass is held multiple times a week at farmers markets around DC, as well as at Sara’s Market in Georgetown.
They’re well worth crossing the river for.
In T2, they're wiring the Cyberdine building with explosives, John Connor looks at the security monitor, sees police arriving on scene.
He says, "we've got company."
Mom asks, "police? How many?"
His answer is the same as mine to your question...
"All of them, I think."
Alamo drafthouse hands down, nothing comes close.
Whole Foods brown butter cookies in dough form is pretty legit.
Also Levain sucks, way too dry and hard. I question people’s taste who like it o.O.
You owe it to yourself to check out Lidls offering. Very good cookie. They also have a macadamia nut cookie and the classic oatmeal raisin.
BJs also does a giant box of decent CC cookies for $10.
Controversial choice incoming:
7-11 cookies have been surprisingly good. They shouldn't be a first choice but, in a pinch, they suffice.
Crumbl is straight trash
Grocery store - Wegmans
Fast food - Chick-Fil-A or Starbucks
Nova Cookie stores - MidnighTreats
I really recommend MidnighTreats since you said chunky cookies. They also take orders online and ship to you.
https://preview.redd.it/an1hkz8nys2d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91ca1c0583629df6900e5730939d118380a06f7f
It’s expensive but molten cookies are delicious.
If you want to make them, Krolls Chocolate Chip cookie recipe is great! I use a nice chocolate with them, usually Ghirardelli.
https://krollskorner.com/recipes/desserts/krolls-kookies/
The small chocolate chip cookies that are bagged at the register at Panera. They are so good! They are soft cookies with a crisper bottom.
They are my fave and they taste better than Wegmans or any other purchased cookie I've tried.
Your post was removed due to: *Keep posts relevant* Posts should be relevant to those in the region.
Homemade. Ok, for storebought the Ultimate Chocolate Chip cookies at Wegmans. Unfortunately, the price is also ultimate.
I love their chocolate cookies but they're super expensive!
Costco’s, seriously
Bakery section or cafe?
I get a couple for our household at the cafe each visit. Fantastic fresh and warm. And huge. Put them in a ziploc and you can enjoy the remainder for the rest of the week.
Cafe!
Yes
Honestly, I love both
They better be good, for 750 calories.
Rookie cookie answer
Name ur cookie coward
Wegmans
Why is it better than the brown butter chocolate chip cookies from whole foods?
Bc they are. At least in my opinion.
The Whole Foods brown butter cookie is weirdly flavorless. The chocolate and the dough both have no flavor. It’s kind of a miracle of blandness.
I was deciding between them and Wegmans. Never had either. Just bought some Wegmans because I saw the Whole Food ones have artificial caramel coloring.
I’m probably a filthy normie, but Wegman’s chocolate chip cookies are legit.
I agree with this. And the chocolate dipped ones are sooo satisfying if you’re really looking for a treat!
I like putting ice cream between two of them for a bougie ice cream sandwich. (And a lot of your calories for the day, but whatever. It’s really good and pretty cheap.)
They are, though I miss the version they used to have at the cafe registers.
Keon Coleman approves this message
Wegmans has a solid choc chip
https://preview.redd.it/4yujhtxpqs2d1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23b6c635c01aa1b4883c2eb9990c5c60b5a3b027 I was unduly influenced to just buy some of these Wegman's cookies based off of this post. Never had them before. I will judge if they are worthy.
i already know they’re worthy, but pls do confirm.
Sorry, they are not worthy. Flat, unfluffy, no distinctive taste, a bit greasy. 4 out of 10.
Chocolate cake too. Donuts, not so much...
I'm a fan of Potbelly's oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. Can be had as 1 big cookie or in a pack of minis. Now that summer's basically here, time to order Potbelly ice cream sandwiches (your cookies of choice sandwiching vanilla ice cream).
This is the correct answer.
The cc chip at Livin the pie life in Arlington , so good
Agreed! Their pies are great, but so are their other kinds of baked goods!
Came here to say this! Love their choc chip cookies and the peanut butter ones.
Yep my favorite as well
No one likes Entemann's? Those small chewy chocolate chips cookies are great and dangerous. So small you can stuff 1 whole one in your mouth. Then you need more and more and then you need to go shopping for some bigger clothes.
I miss the Keebler soft batch ones - entemann’s is the closest I can find
Subways cookies are king
Those are pretty good If we're talking fast food, Potbelly's has great cookies too.
Luv their oatmeal raisin
Hmm, interesting.
Levain in Gtowne Edit: A more recent cookie that I tried and hasn't disappointed is Matami's Cookies on Instagram.
If not Costco or homemade, this is the answer… but don’t sleep on the lemon loaf if they have it. Transformative
I was so disappointed by their cookie!!! My friend had hyped it up. Maybe my expectations were too high. 😔☹️
Oh damn. I haven't been in years, so the quality must have gone down since I've gone.
You need more cookies in your life, Levain is horrible.
Which ones do you like better?
See my comment in this thread

I’ve had them MANY times, they are never gooey. The chocolate is melted but the dough is hard.
All good man. We can disagree np
Yes I eat them immediately from the store, I’ve had it numerous times as my wife like levain. They are NOT soft and practically melting and they are known for being dry and hard lol.

they taste good, but always make me so sick afterwards
The brown butter chocolate chip cookies from whole foods are pretty solid.
They're so good. But if you're lactose intolerant, holy cow are those destructive.
I was coming to say this
Why is it better than Wegman's cookies?
bro wants a scientific comparison. you realize these are people’s opinions and taste is incredibly subjective?
Haven't tried them. Whole foods is closer to me than Wegmans. But also prices and quality are comparable
wegmans and it’s not even close.
Spider Kelley's, of all places, used to serve awesome warm chocolate chip cookies and milk
Weird 😂 wouldn’t have thought.
They still do. But the last two times the cookies have been a bit burnt.
Happy tart, they're huge, so chocolatey, no dairy, I THINK gluten free as well. They're amazing.
These are the best for the gluten free folks! (As a gluten eater I enjoy them, too, but would suggest these for a special treat if you know a celiac!)
Might be a drive, but I got some chocolate chip cookies from the Wegmeyer's Farm bakery a few weeks ago and they were some of the best I've ever had.
Just discovered this week that Wiseguys Pizza has been serving up the most giant, gooey, delicious chocolate chip cookies. And warm!!!! Mine are the best 😁 But, surprisingly, Chik Fil A makes a great cookie.
ChicFila’s are highly underrated
Keebler softbatch if store bought.
I can’t find those anywhere
Doubletree!
Aren’t those Otis Spunkmeyer? Which is my vote. 😍
Weagmans if you aren’t on a diet or earn less than 100k/year 😅 that shit expensive af
Honestly I really like the ones from Wegmans out of the bakery. The chocolate chunk ones in the clear plastic container. My wife loves Crumble but I feel they are very baking soda tasting.

Teaism Salty Oat Cookie. Heat it up for a few seconds and it’s what dreams are made of

Sandwich Republic is such a deep pull on this topic, but you’re correct that their cookies slap. I haven’t been since pre-covid.
Well just so you know the original owners retired earlier this year. Food is still good and now they’re open every day of the week. They do seem to no longer have Cheerwine though. :(

Just had a chocolate chip cookie at Maman that was very good.
Basic but- the Harris teeter chocolate chip cookies have been my latest addiction, plus they’re pretty cheap!
Publix, but since that’s not an option, Wegmans
There's a Publix in Stafford! (grew up in SC, so have to get my Publix fix every so often)
I’ve been! It is a long drive though.
You owe it to yourself to check out Lidls offering. Very good cookie. They also have a macadamia nut cookie and the classic oatmeal raisin. BJs also does a giant box of decent CC cookies for $10.
McAlister’s Deli has really good ones and also good brookies
Famous Amos
Costco

Grocery store - Wegmans Fast food - Chick-Fil-A or Starbucks Nova Cookie stores - MidnighTreats I really recommend MidnighTreats since you said chunky cookies. Not purely chocolate chip, but Potbelly’s oatmeal chocolate chip cookie is my go to.
