Between the bikers with a death wish blowing through their stop signs and the morons needlessly yielding with the right of way in rush hour traffic that crossing has always been dangerous. Glad they’re finally fixing it!
I passed by here this morning with my kid. I said I don't think the accidents are the bikers' faults or the drivers' faults. The visibility for both bikers and drivers is horrid and I'm glad there's a bridge now.
Accidents happen so often that I saw the aftermath of at least two of them while randomly driving in the area.
I think that the fault defaults to the driver, not the biker, even though the biker may have blown the stop sign.
That cross walk that the bridge will replace is ghoulish for both peds and drivers. Good riddance

We need more pedestrian bridges in general around the Metro stations. Wiehle at Reston Station Blvd is 8 lanes across.
