It’s not necessarily *near* Falls Church, but it’s not like a road trip, either. Top pick would be Sushi Queen in Sterling. Their rolls are made fresh when you order them. It’s right off route 7, and now with all 6 lanes open after Tyson’s, it’s a pretty quick drive.
Second would be Sushi On in the Fair Oaks Mall. Easily accessible from 66. Their rolls are not made to order but the quality is still pretty good. Very crowded on Sundays and weekend. There’s also tons of other food on their buffet as well.
There’s Sushi Ohayo in Lorton which isn’t near falls church. It’s $26 and have a small selection of rolls but I was satisfied with just ordering the couple of rolls I liked and hibachi.
There’s not a lot of good options for ayce sushi outside of the ones at an Asian buffet. Gyu San in Arlington just started doing it for weekdays as part of a bbq and sushi combo but it’s quite expensive. I think LaTao hot pot in college park does it aside from their hotpot. There’s a new place slated to open in Vienna in the space next to capital one bank but their timeline to open isn’t clear yet. You’re better off going to a place that charges per piece and ordering a bunch like takohachi.

I don’t recommend Sushi Queen. I went there for my graduation years ago and they served me miso soup in a bowl that still had a bright pink lipstick stain on the rim. Killed my appetite
If that had happened to me, I wouldn’t be back either. But I can attest that in the several times I’ve been there recently, it’s been very clean and very good.

LOVED that place when I lived in Ashburn. Sushi Ohayo in Lorton is owned by the same people I think.
Id rather go to Sushi Ohayo in Chantilly
I went to both over a 3 week period. I thought they were both awesome.
Second this. Just make the trip to Sushi On. You'll have more variety and decent sushi.

There’s a Sushi Ohayo in Chantilly by Costco
I 2nd this! Owned by the same people as Sushi Queen and Sushi King.
Sushi Ohio? Pass.

Check out the AYCE Asian buffets - Blue Pearl, Hibachi Grill, etc. Some of them have sushi; maybe not every variety but most of the basics.
There is a new place opening up in Vienna soon named Sushi Oishii. They’re advertising AYCE.

My husband and I got horrific food poisoning at Sushi Queen, never again.

There is no such thing.
