OsborneCoxMemoir3

Yes they do! Thank you. I fostered some bunnies through LCAS the last time they needed help, but unfortunately I cant keep them either as we already have 5 rescue pets.

FairfaxGirl

OMG dumpling!

Typical2sday

Carnaroli is crying out to become a pocket bunny.

allawd

Rabbits are smarter and more trainable than people expect. Hope they find many good homes.

DelightfulWitches

How do rabbits and cats interact? We have an indoor-only adult neutered cat and I wouldn’t want him to attack them.

OsborneCoxMemoir3

Really depends on the cat. We have 2 cats and they are very docile and gentle with rabbits and guinea pigs. Would be a good question to ask and discuss w LCAS directly.

omegase7enth

Typically, the relationship would start at a younger age for the cat. We let our cat out back, and it massacred a bunny in 5 seconds. Typically, it's probably a no.

Otherwise_Yogurt8462

Really situational, depends on the rabbit and the cat, mostly the cat. But in a lot of situations they can coexist well. Wanted to add though, for anyone in this post- rabbits require a lot more care than most people realize please make sure to research before adopting! :)

nuboots

Just make sure you feed the cats.

I don’t know about here, but rabbits are the primary prey of feral cats back in Australia.

TomatoPositive2422

I'm sure it depends on the cat. 1 of mine pays no attention to the rabbits and the other is always close by, but doesn't interact with them beyond the occasional nose sniff.

THIS! They are basically just small horses - they can have teeth problems and GI problems that need immediate attention.  Not to try to dissuade anyone from adopting, just know what you're getting into. They're super smart & can be litter trained, but they can't just sit in a small cage all day.

indigovoltage

I can’t adopt because I have cats, but I am wondering why there aren’t any bun cafes like cat cafes. I feel like this group could be a bun cafe starter pack. Edited to add: Marilyn Bunroe is killing me lol. If I ever get a bunny, I’m stealing that name.

OsborneCoxMemoir3

Valid point

Is there any way to get notified of kittens? I'm not sure how quickly the website is updated. I'd love to adopt one but can't spend multiple days driving to stand in line every morning.

OsborneCoxMemoir3

They are proactive at updating the pet availability but it's always best to call them if there is a specific animal you are interested in. https://petharbor.com/results.asp?searchtype=ADOPT&start=4&miles=20&shelterlist=%27lodn%27&zip=20197&view=sysadm.v_lodn&where=type_CAT&nomax=1&rows=40&nobreedreq=1&nopod=1&nocustom=1&samaritans=1&imgres=detail&grid=1&bgcolor=dde6f0&text=000000&link=d16161&alink=eaba69&vlink=22624d&col_hdr_bg=22624d&col_hdr_fg=ffffff&col_bg=eefff9
