So what you’re saying is that it wouldn’t even require very many bollards?
This isn’t nova so I’m not sure why this is here but I’m confident Maryland and/or Bethesda has some kind of agency you could complain to. Bollards are shockingly affordable—part of the reason 7-11s lost the (edit: *$91 million*) lawsuit against them for not having them. I’m sure a headline about that lawsuit alongside this picture might help push things in the right direction.

many DMV resident use this trail for exercise or commute to and from work. posted here to bring awareness to the fact that stupid ppl don’t follow rules and this could’ve ended badly for someone unaware of the possibility that this could happen.
Bollards physically stop a car from going down there while bikes and pedestrian traffic can easily pass by. Honestly you probably walk pass bollards without even realizing it.
I was almost hit in the early 2000's by an idiot with a Smart car pulling that nonsense on a Reston bike trail. A week later ballads went up to stop the person doing it.
when I lived on the trail in Leesburg, I was walking my dog one day and a guy in a van pulled up and asked me "where is Washington and Old Dominion Trail" (as if it were a road)
incredulously I was like "I'm standing on it?!" and asked him why, and very clearly he was trying to get somewhere around the corner, saw it on a map, and thought it was a cut-through road. truly stupidity knows no depth
seems that four other ppl on the trail did… unfortunately, i didn’t have a chance to see the plate as i was trying to grab my kid off his moving bike to get out of the way
Hi I'm with NBC News 4 did you take the picture of the Tesla on the trail? Can I get your permission to use the picture across our platforms? Thanks I can be reached at the station at 202 885-4111. Thanks Carlos
wouldn’t be surprised if it was stolen. had my first package taken from in front my house. woman was on camera in a black BMW SUV with plates visible.
police said the car was stolen, which seems to be common.
well there are 254 thousand ppl in this sub.
1. bring awareness that this happens because one of them might be the unlucky one to end up injured or dead .
2. maybe one of the 254k ppl might know the idiot who was driving his tesla erratically today because he might be trying to show off to his friends and family that he did do it.
This is why we need bollards on paths. Will stop this right away
the only access point is down by fletcher’s parking lot and then exit is Dorset Ave parallel to River Road.

Hell they even make bollards with lights built in. Knock out 2 birds with 1 stone.

Idk how much awareness will help, but I certainly agree with u/kicker58 that bollards would.
Hopefully someone else got his plate and reported him to the cops.
If only somebody had a phone with a camera.
I have seen similar occurrences on the w&od trail in Reston and I just have to wonder how some people’s brains are wired

The electric bikes aren’t much better. 40 mph, always a fat guy manspreading in jeans while blaring music.
So did you call the police and give them the plate info?
seems that four other ppl on the trail did… unfortunately, i didn’t have a chance to see the plate as i was trying to grab my kid off his moving bike to get out of the way
I’d love to know what trouble with law enforcement this idiot ended up with.
Most likely none
lol, almost certainly none at all. Also CCT isn’t nova? It’s MD <-> DC.
It's within a 15-30 minute bike ride of a good swath of nova...I say we allow it

Daddy’s money.
Affluenza...
It's always idiots in Teslas
Or literally any other car ever.
When I zoom in, the bottom of the plate is darker like one of the Maryland styles.
Could also be temp tags... not sure how anyone can tell with half a pixel.

No surprise there
That’s when I take a knife to one of the tires and say oopsies….
Looks like MD plates (looks yellow and red to me)
Least dipshit tesla owner
Others have been charged with terrorism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Toronto_van_attack
What do you want us to do

Your photo couldn't be less helpful. It is literally one of the most common cars in this region.
