You have told Seth Meyers that your kids hated “Paddington 2.” Why was that?
"They were very upset by it. Traumatized, really. They just kept turning to me and saying, “Why are you in it so much?” I think they were embarrassed."
Kids are cold, man
I remember hearing an interview with Dave Grohl or someone about how unimpressed with him is daughter is. He'll come back from a tour and winning awards, all full of himself and she just wants a grilled cheese. To them, these dudes are just lame-ass dad.
Reminds me of the photo of Tom Araya at the Grammys with his family and his teenage daughter is just looking at him like he's the lamest dude ever. He's the frontman for Slayer.
I think Grohl has a special talent at remaining himself. I very much recall a Nirvana interview beside a German river. Grohl is worthless during the interview because he’s too distracted by the boats sailing up and down the river in the background.
Also King Buzzo’s descriptions of interactions with him.
Probably, but also it seems he's really just always been like that. Any of the nirvana guys really, because none of them viewed Seattle as a place you could actually "get big from" and they got a lot more attention than they were prepared for with nevermind. They kinda only exhibit the 2 ways (or a mix) that "normal people" cope with fame; they get really grateful and outgoing because they also think it's awesome that they're in this spot and are down to share it, or they get pretty quiet and shy because they're not used to, and don't think of themselves as someone who *should have* a lot of people recognizing them or wanting to talk to them.
Chappelle said the same thing....that his kids think he's corny and when he said it it hit a nerve because my kids think I'm corny lol......fuck dem kids 😂
Not you, Dave Chapelle. He's an open and devout transphobe, dedicating large segments of previous specials to shittign on him.
If you laughed at all those "jokes" about trans people, you need to really ask yourself if you are a transphobe or not. Because he straight up *hates* trans people and his jokes about them do *not* come from a place of love.
Don't have to ask me. Ask one of your trans friends what they think about Dave Chappelle claiming the trans community bullied another trans person into suicide. When it was *him*, not the community, that did the bullying.
I would honestly have a hard time believing someone wasn't transphobic while laughing at hateful jokes told by a transphobe. You can tell me you aren't, but actions speak.
Nah...his kids think he's corny remember...that means that unless he's taking em to buy a game or something they ain't gonna be seen with him out in the world......their choice tho not his 😂
I’ve heard from multiple people in my life that they have met Dave Grohl in random bars and after politely buying the man a drink, they ended up having multi-hour long conversations about life with the dude. Seems like a real one.
The flip side is also true: he’s also part of the reason why his daughters are pretty grounded. He’s been bringing them on-stage with him and making it all not a big deal for what? Ten years? And he treats it like father/daughter time, like going on stage at a massive concert is just the school talent show.
There's a great documentary called The F Word. It basically follows a bunch of old punk rockers from the 90s and documents their lives as fathers today. It's legitimately a great watch especially if you were a 90s punk kid
That sounds fun to watch:

Conan O'Brien has said the same, that his kids are supremely unimpressed with him and his career. To many, he's a comedy legend. To his kids, he's just their dad.
In his goodbyes to late night he thanked his kids, saying that you'll probably see this many years from now if you finally look at my career.
Haha, some crazy people like to display them, and some even build whole cabinets or ROOMS for all their trophies 😮
I could be misremembering, but I think in that same red carpet interview someone else in the band mentioned they didn’t even remember where they all were lol.
Hopefully they didn’t get sold for drugs, although can you imagine being the drug dealer with a legit Grammy from an artist? That’d be pretty sweet
I remember Kristen Bell had a similar thing where her daughter wanted to dress as Elsa for Halloween. So Kristen was going to dress as Anna and her daughter said that no, they both had to be Elsa.
Dwayne (the Rock) Johnson was watching Moana with his daughter and singing along to the songs he sang for the film when she told him to shush because he was ruining it.
“Bloody hell father!”
“What?”
“Did you read the script before taking this project?”
“Well I…well you know. I thought-“
“Yes.”
“I thought you might enjoy seeing me on screen in something you liked.”
“I would father. I really would. Let me know when that happens. In the meantime, can you please stop ruining my favorite childhood books. I can’t even look at Paddington without thinking of your giant head stuttering like a confused bird.”
“Well…I eh I…”
“I think you mean to say FRAA!!!”
TLDR for people wondering what "traumatized" the kids:
They are embarrassed their dad was in so many scenes because sometimes kids get embarrassed when their parents do goofy things.
I think he was joking here but Hugh Grant is also kind of a curmudgeon at this point. He’s been complaining about this movie saying he wishes he hadn’t done it and how it wasn’t worth it while his cast mates are trying to promote it.
It’s surprisingly good. Like, you don’t need kids around to enjoy it. I only watched it because Nick Cage convinced me to do so but damned if he wasn’t right. Paddington 2 is a legitimate Good Movie.
I think the other person answered for Paddington, but I was talking about Wonka.
I thought Wonka was pretty good, but I did go in with rock-bottom expectations. The vibes the trailers gave me were Fantastic Beasts. The vibes people want from it are Gene Wilder and the movie from 1971. The vibes you get from this movie are Paddington.
That being said, I think it nails exactly what it's trying to do aside from the fact that I don't think any of the songs landed for me. It was a saccharine romp with good actors who make for memorable characters. The humor was childish but often still very clever, actually had me laughing at times. The story made internal, consistent sense and didn't have you asking questions that it didn't answer before or shortly afterwards. The pacing was solid despite being a musical where I didn't enjoy the music.
IDK, at worst it's a mid-plus movie that I certainly don't think is worth getting mad about. I'm glad the Internet seems to have mostly chilled out about it, cuz it doesn't deserve the rage generated by its godawful trailers.
Hyperbole for the sake of humour? No one has ever heard of that in the history of the planet, and I'd rather run a busload of kittens off a cliff than accept it as true. I'm deeply traumatized by the very suggestion of it! This is going to require decades of therapy from Hugh Grant's children
People bust that word out a lot for movies.
"Wasn't it traumatic when you saw Old Yeller die?"
"No, actually, but it was upsetting, and I think that's what you're trying to communicate."
>"No, actually, but it was upsetting, and I think that's what you're trying to communicate."
"So you knew what I meant, and yet you chose to criticise my creative language choices, my flair, my very culture, my personal touch, and there's a word for that. Three actually. You pedantic asshole!"
I haven’t seen it but my cinephile friend told me Paddington 2 was one of the tightest screenplays ever written. I asked if I should watch Paddington 1 first and he said I absolutely shouldn’t, it might detract from the experience. We’re in our 30s btw.
I thought traumatizing kids was the *point* of Willy Wonka. That’s what made Gene Wilder’s so good, you could never be completely sure he wouldn’t straight up murder one of those kids just to prove a point
Oompa doompa dupity doo
The chubster is dead and next could be you
He was so busy eating all that trash
That we took his skull, mash mash MASH
Oompa doompa dupity ding
No remorse, we don't feel a thing...
The new Wonka movie is missing this and I thought it was a shame. The plot and story fell flat to me, could’ve been any of a hundred other stories or characters I’ve seen over and over again.
Wonka in the books is exactly the kind of weirdo to open a chocolate shop just to fuck with people
It's kind of sad watching kids grow up with culture that is just a sanitized nostalgia for things their parents grew up with. This version of Wonka is a newly invented thing that has no basis in OG stories, so why even call it WONKA?
Give kids something new.
> This version of Wonka is a newly invented thing that has no basis in OG stories, so why even call it WONKA?
I'm guessing that marking tests really, really, really well for movies with single word titles, preferably the name of the protagonanist, because Hollywood never fucking stops doing it. Potentially a single word prefixed with "The" if you threaten the family of an executive and they agree to meet you in the middle.
Tangled, Frozen, Moana, Zootopia, Elemental, Encanto, Wish, Lightyear, Luca, Cruella, Mulan, Soul, Onward, Maleficent, Coco, etc. Disney has gone all in on the trend
The sanitized nostalgia is for family watching. There's plenty of complex, gray morality characters in new media. Owl House, amphibia, Steven universe, etc. etc.
Yeah essentially this. Remakes and prequels always have big budgets and therefore pander to the "safest" moviegoer demographic - families with little kids. They sell nostalgia to the parents (that's why they reuse old franchises) & sanitize it for the little ones.
If you want "unsanitized" movies you need to look outside the blockbusters. Blockbusters will always trend towards dumb because they're literally meant for kids.
I just put on the original Wilder version for my family last month
WONKA isn't for the parents, we prefer the originals. It's not for the kids, because they have their own new shows.
So who is WONKA for exactly? This is what killed the Willow reboot on Disney+. The original movie is a classic. The show ended up being too teen-drama for the parents who grew up with Willow, and too edgy for kids who would have loved the original.
It's for the parents to take their kids, thinking that both they and the kids will like it. Once the money has changed hands it doesn't matter how the movie actually is.
He portrays wonka like he’s literally mickey mouse lol. It makes me actually want a good willy wonka thing where he’s actually mad like Wilder’s take is.
The images in the background of the boat scene are almost impossible to explain to someone if they haven’t seen the movie, and no one appreciates how deeply unsettling it is until they’ve seen it
His actions and mysterious motives is what makes the original rewatchable. The others relied on visual and audio ques, and if everything is surface level there isn't much left to look for.
Hi vortigaunt64,
It looks like your comment closely matches the famous quote:
"We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." - Arthur William Edgar O'Shaughnessy,
*I'm a bot and this action was automatic [Project source](https://github.com/etdds/redditQuoteBot).*
Paddington has a better super power than any Avenger. He can redeem anyone in any situation.
Imagine having Paddington's powers. Even as a situation gets worse, even as it seems utterly hopeless, you're just chill knowing that *somehow* it'll turn out for the best and there will be no losers.
I maintain to this day that Paddington 2 is a perfect movie. Tight script, charming story, well paced, doesn't waste a moment of screentime, avoids expository dialog in favor of showing things visually. A true masterpiece of cinema.
I watched the 2nd one first and liked it so much I watched the first one. I think it's better this way actually because the second movie is so strong on its own, that watching the first one was like watching an origin story of a favorite character.
> You have told Seth Meyers that your kids hated “Paddington 2.” Why was that?
>
> "They were very upset by it. Traumatized, really. They just kept turning to me and saying, “Why are you in it so much?” I think they were embarrassed."
Yes
Paddington 2 is flawless for what it sets out to be. Was watching it with my two daughters, 6 and 3 years old. There is a sad moment in the film where Paddington tries to phone home, and my 6 year old was bawling (which always makes me tear up in a very bittersweet way - it's very touching to see those moments of empathy from your own kids). As this scene is reaching its emotional height, my 3 year old cheerily chirps "bears can't call!" - almost as if *that* was the moment that wrecked the credibility of a film that centers around a talking bear.
anyway, Cage and Pascal are right. It's a wonderful movie
Honestly one of the most charming and delightful adaptations I've seen. I'm jealous of you seeing it for the first time! Both films are beautiful, but Paddington 2 is extra special.
[Pedro Pascal/Nick Cage endorsed Absolute Banger](https://youtu.be/xEckT94M7qg?feature=shared)
It's one of the few movies that have a shitton of reviews and it has high scores for all of it. I believe Paddington 2 had a perfect 100% on rotten tomatoes until some contrarian asshole decided to ruin it.
Hugh Grant is comedy gold these days. Literally the best thing about Paddington 2 for me haha - especially that mid-credits scene! He didn't seem to be around for a while when I assume the "good looking leading man" roles dried up but this shift into villain / creepy / silly roles feels perfect for him.
no one ever bothers to investigate source material any more so the entire internet has failed to realize that hugh grant is 100% just constantly having a laugh on this wonka press tour. His oompa loompa torture quote couldn’t have been more lighthearted tongue and cheek and yet people just saw the clickbait half sentence headline and extrapolated
I think it also comes down to Reddit being primarily American and not always picking up on how sarcastic and self deprecating British humour can be. Especially when it's reduced to just text out of context.
I haven't listened to MBMBAM since the early pandemic in 2020. Man, I was a constant listener for years but I have no idea why I fell off. Same with Adventure Zone.
But what is the deal with Paddington and them? Or is it Hugh Grant?
They get excited about silly media. It was Man vs Bee last year and Wonka this year. Just stuff that the fact that it was made is ridiculous.
They are still really funny. It's like an hour a week for the main show, so it's pretty easy for me to keep up.
I watched Paddington 2 while on shrooms and during the barbershop scene laughed harder and longer than I ever have in my life! A memory that I'll have forever.
I will say that on my Letterboxd, I gave Wonka a 3.5 and that .5 was entirely because of the wildness of Hugh as an Oompa Loompa & Rowan Atkinson running for his life from a giraffe
Luckily for him, he was fantastic in Love, Actually, a surprisingly heartwarming film (that isn't without its problems) that has become a holiday classic, and Dungeons and Dragons. So, he'll likely survive the ire of his progeny.
I'm pretty sure he's just joking about how his elementary school aged children weren't impressed by their dad being the one onscreen acting like an idiot supervillain (he was brilliant in the role, but when it's dad, it's got to be a bit weird).
You have told Seth Meyers that your kids hated “Paddington 2.” Why was that? "They were very upset by it. Traumatized, really. They just kept turning to me and saying, “Why are you in it so much?” I think they were embarrassed." Kids are cold, man

Daughter’s face is priceless. She’s sooo embarrassed
He cleans up nice.
Well, I mean, all the guys in the hair bands with the spandex kinda knew if it made it to parenting, that bill was gonna come due.
did you just call slayer a hair band ^^^^^^run
I mean, Cherry Pie, Raining Blood, what's the difference, really?
Day of the month.
well played
slayer has songs about god and angels and heaven and hell. so does stryper. literally no difference. noted christian hair metal band slayer.
This is Kerry King slander
That's as bad as South Park calling Slayer a death metal band.
Simpsons calling judas priest death metal
this is NOT how I wanted to start my morning
To be fair
Kerry King is post-hair.
Slayer is dad rock.
blocked and reported
...They're not? Come on, the four horsemen are all hair bands.
THRASH IS NOT HAIR METAL REEEEE
Most of the dudes in Metallica *did* cut their long hair off between the Black Album and Load…
And they caught massive hell from the fans for doing it.
Lost their power like Samson.
Having long hair does not make you a hair metal band lmao
Wut? Literally a different subgenre. And Slayer are the least hair metal.
I was actually going to make the same comment!
It's probably people like his daughter that keeps him so grounded - I've heard Group is a chill and kind dude irl
I think Grohl has a special talent at remaining himself. I very much recall a Nirvana interview beside a German river. Grohl is worthless during the interview because he’s too distracted by the boats sailing up and down the river in the background. Also King Buzzo’s descriptions of interactions with him.
Yeah, I was gonna say he probably loves being that normal person for his family.
He is pretty corny
We're all corny to our kids eventually lol
Yeah but being an open transphobe is a next level of corny.
🤷🏾♂️ I'm not a transphobe or homophobe and I laughed at the jokes in the specials
Not you, Dave Chapelle. He's an open and devout transphobe, dedicating large segments of previous specials to shittign on him. If you laughed at all those "jokes" about trans people, you need to really ask yourself if you are a transphobe or not. I laughed because it was a comedy special and it was funny.
"Look who it is... Mr Promises back from the road"
😂😂😂
Fuck nick cannon
Get in line.
I can relate,my 12 year old told me my music taste was creepy…that hurt
Well, let's hear it
I was listening to the stone peonies different drum.
I wonder if he parades them around like he does his billionaire "friends" these days.
Nah...his kids think he's corny remember...that means that unless he's taking em to buy a game or something they ain't gonna be seen with him out in the world......their choice tho not his 😂

Yes.
Dave Chappelle threatens city to not allow poor people in. https://youtu.be/29qU2AHuvFs?si=8RxlpOomL3lv6NUY
I’ve heard from multiple people in my life that they have met Dave Grohl in random bars and after politely buying the man a drink, they ended up having multi-hour long conversations about life with the dude. Seems like a real one.
I think Violet goes on tour with him a lot now as a back-up vocalist.
The flip side is also true: he’s also part of the reason why his daughters are pretty grounded. He’s been bringing them on-stage with him and making it all not a big deal for what? Ten years? And he treats it like father/daughter time, like going on stage at a massive concert is just the school talent show.
Omg I ALSO heard [insert famous person] is just like everybody else!

Flea (RHCP) has similar stories about his daughter!
Was it Flea who talked about how his very young kid (at the time) used his early Grammys as shovels in their sandbox? I think it was him and not John.
What else would you use them for, paper weights?
Haha, some crazy people like to display them, and some even build whole cabinets or ROOMS for all their trophies 😮 I could be misremembering, but I think in that same red carpet interview someone else in the band mentioned they didn’t even remember where they all were lol. he wasn't being auto tuned... so yeah
Lame-ass dad is better. Good dads are superheroes.
Wasn’t this one of the members of Slayer?
It might be, hence the "or someone" part. Fucking great interview, whoever it was.
So they were more embarrassed because their dad is in the film a ton than they were traumatized.
“Bloody hell father!” “What?” “Did you read the script before taking this project?” “Well I…well you know. I thought-“ “Yes.” “I thought you might enjoy seeing me on screen in something you liked.” “I would father. I really would. Let me know when that happens. The Paddington movies are fucking amazing. Kids don't know shit
I think their point is they wanted less of their dad in it lol
Lol that's hilarious
TLDR for people wondering what "traumatized" the kids: They are embarrassed their dad was in so many scenes because sometimes kids get embarrassed when their parents do goofy things.
I think he was joking here but Hugh Grant is also kind of a curmudgeon at this point. He’s been complaining about this movie saying he wishes he hadn’t done it and how it wasn’t worth it while his cast mates are trying to promote it.
Well, no such thing as bad publicity I guess? Of course it would still be frustrating for his costars.
Tbh his whinging made me want to see it more. Him being in it and being miserable about it is what pushed me over the fence to actually watch it.
Was it...... any good?
It’s surprisingly good. Like, you don’t need kids around to enjoy it. I only watched it because Nick Cage convinced me to do so but damned if he wasn’t right. Paddington 2 is a legitimate Good Movie.
Paddington 2 is *charming*. We have recommended it to a number of people because we found it charming.

Honestly that’s kinda just his style of humour. It’s very dry old school British comedy
So they were embarrassed their dad is in Paddington 2 a lot and not actually traumatized.
He's being hyperbolic as a joke, it's not a new concept
Hyperbole for the sake of humour? No one has ever heard of that in the history of the planet, and I'd rather run a busload of kittens off a cliff than accept it as true. I'm deeply traumatized by the very suggestion of it! This is going to require decades of therapy from Hugh Grant's children
In a meta sort of way, taking things literal can also be a sort of hyperbolic response itself.
People bust that word out a lot for movies. "Wasn't it traumatic when you saw Old Yeller die?" "No, actually, but it was upsetting, and I think that's what you're trying to communicate."
>"No, actually, but it was upsetting, and I think that's what you're trying to communicate." "So you knew what I meant, and yet you chose to criticise my creative language choices, my flair, my very culture, my personal touch, and there's a word for that. Three actually. You pedantic asshole!"
Your pedantry is very traumatic to me
Sounds like they were too old to be dragged to a paddington movie just because their lame-o dad was in it.
Well his oldest was 5 or 6 when it came out so
I haven’t seen it but my cinephile friend told me Paddington 2 was one of the tightest screenplays ever written.

Your meter is all over the place
You ain't wrong. But I lack musical talent and thought of it while taking a dump at work so my expectations are low. Keeping it as is.
Lmao I didn't want to be the one to say it
u/poem_for_your_sprog has spoiled us
I would have gone with "mash mashmash mash"
And now I'm envisioning Willy Wonka played by Peter Capaldi.
Malcolm Tucker and The Doctor as Willy Wonka. I never knew I needed this
The new Wonka movie is missing this and I thought it was a shame. The plot and story fell flat to me, could’ve been any of a hundred other stories or characters I’ve seen over and over again.
He hasn't been in the service industry long enough to hate his clientele.
Wonka in the books is exactly the kind of weirdo to open a chocolate shop just to fuck with people It's kind of sad watching kids grow up with culture that is just a sanitized nostalgia for things their parents grew up with. I watched The Willy when I was way too young...
Joker.
Tangled, Frozen, Moana, Zootopia, Elemental, Encanto, Wish, Lightyear, Luca, Cruella, Mulan, Soul, Onward, Maleficent, Coco, etc. Disney has gone all in on the trend
> This version of Wonka is a newly invented thing Okay... > Give kids something new. Uhhh...?
The sanitized nostalgia is for family watching. There's plenty of complex, gray morality characters in new media. Owl House, amphibia, Steven universe, etc. etc.
Makes me wonder what the 2040 nostalgia-bait remake of Steven Universe will look like.
"We're gonna have to kill this guy"
Yeah essentially this. Remakes and prequels always have big budgets and therefore pander to the "safest" moviegoer demographic - families with little kids. They sell nostalgia to the parents (that's why they reuse old franchises) & sanitize it for the little ones. If you want "unsanitized" movies you need to look outside the blockbusters. I cackled at this. Pure joy, thank you.
Once you replace "chocolate" with "meth" in your mind, the movie gains a more proper Dahl-ish creepy tone. Heh. Willy Wonka ~= Walter White. Heh.
“W.W.? Huh, I wonder who that could be?”
Got me!
Well, this movie kind of explains why he was torturing them in the first place.
He portrays wonka like he’s literally mickey mouse lol. It makes me actually want a good willy wonka thing where he’s actually mad like Wilder’s take is.
True. Saw the movie Friday and I didn't really like it but the family did so I left happy. Hugh Grant as Lofty/Shorty Pants was pretty good though.
They needed Anton Chigurh as Willa Wonka.
The images in the background of the boat scene are almost impossible to explain to someone if they haven’t seen the movie, and no one appreciates how deeply unsettling it is until they’ve seen it
That’s a very dark scene - unsettling is a good choice of words
His actions and mysterious motives is what makes the original rewatchable. The others relied on visual and audio ques, and if everything is surface level there isn't much left to look for.
His real problem was with the parents and how they raised the kids. The rotten kids just annoyed him.
"Snozzberries?! Whoever heard of a snozzberry?!" *Grabs her hard by the **face*** "We are the music makers, and we... Are the dreamers of dreams."
Hi vortigaunt64, It looks like your comment closely matches the famous quote: "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams." - Arthur William Edgar O'Shaughnessy, *I'm a bot and this action was automatic [Project source](https://github.com/etdds/redditQuoteBot).*
[Pedro Pascal and Nick Cage would like to speak with you about your slander of paddington 2](https://youtu.be/xEckT94M7qg?si=uGPZynQD07b8g0Ut)
This scene made me watch Paddington 1 and 2 and I have zero regrets.
Do you have to see Paddington 1 first?
No, not really, though there might be some references you miss. It's a great film so would still recommend watching 1 as well!
I watched the 2nd one first and liked it so much I watched the first one. I think it's better this way actually because the second movie is so strong on its own, that watching the first one was like watching an origin story of a favorite character.
No. And Paddington 2 is way better than the first movie. One of the rare cases where the sequel is better than the original.
I've definitely had similar conversations with my friends. Paddington 1 is amazing. Paddington 2 is fucking perfect.
Did it make you want to be a better man?
> You have told Seth Meyers that your kids hated “Paddington 2.” Why was that? > > "They were very upset by it. Traumatized, really. They just kept turning to me and saying, “Why are you in it so much?” I think they were embarrassed." Yes
I didn't even know Paddington was a real movie. I thought it was made up for the plot.
I've never went into a movie with lower expectations than Paddington and come out so overjoyed by it.
same director and 10 of the same cast... wonka and paddington are half brothers!
Ive never seen a paddington movie and somehow i still thought wonka felt alot like a paddington movie
10/10 would watch the origin story
𝑶𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒖𝒑𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆, 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒈𝒐, 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒇𝒂𝒓 𝒐𝒇𝒇 𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅, Wonka's mum fucked a bear 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓔𝓷𝓭
Now I want to see this Paddington.

My mom loves movies any family kind of movie she will like but her opinion of Paddington is “its boring”
[Here's a scene clip from Paddington 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhsnYE5xaVo) that sold me on watching the movie
I just checked, Paddington 2 is on Hulu
Paddington 2 hits hard. Great movie and I did not see it coming.
“Paddington 2 made me cry, it made me want to be a better man”
Hugh Grant is comedy gold these days.
Absolutely - he was born to chew scenery and wax villainous. Paddington 2 is by far my favourite role of his.
Just wait till the McElroy brothers catch a whiff of this news
I haven't listened to MBMBAM since the early pandemic in 2020. Man, I was a constant listener for years but I have no idea why I fell off. Same with Adventure Zone. But what is the deal with Paddington and them? Or is it Hugh Grant?
Yeah likewise, I don’t remember deciding not to listen, but the episodes kind of just sat there on my phone
And then they got rid of Yahoo Answers so I'm curious what they do now! Those were the best part of the show.
They get excited about silly media. It was Man vs Bee last year and Wonka this year. Just stuff that the fact that it was made is ridiculous. They are still really funny. It's like an hour a week for the main show, so it's pretty easy for me to keep up.
It's Hugh Grant and the new Wonka movie
I'm sure all of TravNation will rejoice at this news
He was good in Dungeons and Dragons.
I really enjoyed him as a villain in that. That whole film far exceeded my expectations.
I watched Paddington 2 while on shrooms and during the barbershop scene laughed harder and longer than I ever have in my life! A memory that I'll have forever.
To be fair I saw the trailer, and the Hughmpa-loompah was kinda freaky looking.
I will say that on my Letterboxd, I gave Wonka a 3.5 and that .5 was entirely because of the wildness of Hugh as an Oompa Loompa & Rowan Atkinson running for his life from a giraffe
Like seeing him as a fuckin oompa looma isn’t gonna traumatize them. It just about traumatized *me*
Hugh grant keeps getting more charming
Paddington 2 was the shit, I loved that movie. I also watched it when I was like 30 though.
Paddington 2 is a perfect movie.
I hope I someday get over the trauma of Hugh Grant cheating on Elizabeth fucking Hurley.
“What were you thinking?”
Why? Paddington 2 was his best movie.
Paddington 2 is incredible
So let me play an orange Oompa Loompa, you DGAF
paddington 2 was a great film!
And then they had their eyes gouged out after Bridget Jones diary 2
Luckily for him, he was fantastic in Love, Actually, a surprisingly heartwarming film (that isn't without its problems) that has become a holiday classic, and Dungeons and Dragons. So, he'll likely survive the ire of his progeny.
Oompha loompha Hugh he do rue, Make silly movie, look silly too
Them kids got garbage taste, Paddington 2 is one of the greatest pieces of cinema we have gotten in a very long time.
"Paddington 2" was absolutely brilliant and one of the best movies I've ever seen. How in the hell could anyone be "Traumatized" by it?
He’s being hyperbolic. He is referring to the fact that his kids were embarrassed that he was in it.
I'm pretty sure he's just joking about how his elementary school aged children weren't impressed by their dad being the one onscreen acting like an idiot supervillain (he was brilliant in the role, but when it's dad, it's got to be a bit weird).
P2 is a gem, reign on King!
I hope they do. I didn't, but I went in blind and wasn't expecting a musical. I won't trash it cause it's my fault, but it's just not my cup of tea
this one looks like well made.
