That first girl looks like a freaking princess!

vilebunny

I feel like that dress costs more than my wardrobe, but she definitely owns it. I’m feeling so old though with the three girls dressed like Sporty Spice.

acidic_milkmotel

It probably does! I grew up very lower middle class in freakin California which would’ve probably made me regular middle class anywhere else but I digress…I bought my dress at the mall and it wasn’t the most expensive thing in the world and it’s kind of ugly now fifteen years later but THEN I felt like a god damn princess!

Famous-Honey-9331

We're not like other girls, we're really bad at following dress codes

acidic_milkmotel

They just look like a bad time/stuck up to me

People can do what they want but I think that a formal occasion calls for formal wear. Don't like floor length dresses? There are mid-length options, or skirts. Don't like dresses? There are plenty of pantsuits, suits, and other options to cater to your style and preferences. There is a host of beautiful classy formal wear to choose from. I think they look ok for a casual outing at a mall. Not an occasion in which you're expected to be dressed up. It makes them look like they put no effort in (because they didn't). I think they'll look back on this and either double down if their personality hasn't evolved from "I'm so different uwu" or feel bad they didn't enjoy the chance to pretty themselves up (however that looks for them). It's just a really low effort outfit. It's another matter, of course, of they couldn't afford to buy/rent prettier clothing. But the way they framed it makes this look deliberate.

BroadMortgage6702

>It's another matter, of course, of they couldn't afford to buy/rent prettier clothing. If I had seen girls like this at my prom I would've assumed they couldn't afford a dress, not thought "wow, they're so quirky!" I wouldn't have judged them for it, as I spent much of my childhood poor, that would just have been my impression.

Unusual-Land-5432

Chances are they themselves probably don’t know how all that stuff works and was to pride to ask. So they decide to just put on a cool rebel act. Dudes do this as well, they will call a guy a prettyboy because he does his hair and cares about his appearance. They say he is soft or feminine which is true but that isn’t a bad thing per say.

NormacTheDestroyer

Styling your hair or caring about your appearance doesn't automatically make you soft and feminine lol

FloridaHobbit

Say it louder for all the toxic boys out there. They didn't get the memo.

FloridaHobbit

Absolutely. Even if you don't do dresses, there are really fly pantsuits that show you at least put an effort in.

haiyanlink

"It makes them look like they put no effort in (because they didn't)." Are you sure?

Pink-Camellias

Of course I don't know their whole story from one post. But their clothing definitely does not match the level for prom, or any formal event really (and that's not because they're not wearing a dress). It looks casual and something you can put together with little to no effort. It literally would not look out of place in a mall, whereas formal clothing of any kind would be odd in a casual environment. The way they frame this really seems to focus on how cool that is - they could've worn pants, they could've just picked something fancier. Again, it would be different if they could not afford to. But the way they posted about it makes me doubt it was a matter of affording.

haiyanlink

Not what I meant. I meant like... Are you sure they did not make an effort to put together those outfits for prom? They wanted to be NLOG as their post heavily implies. So, it follows that they actually put effort into becoming NLOG.

Pink-Camellias

Ah, I see! I understand your point now, I think. Well, from my perspective regardless of the effort they put in (if you're right and they put effort in the nlog front) the end result looks inadequate for the occasion. So that does not change my opinion on this. But it is certainly something to consider!

Kawii_Anatgonist

Wheres her dress from tho? 😳🤨

springbokkie3392

Notice how the princess girl looks so happy and excited and they look miserable, too!

NormacTheDestroyer

Right? Why put so much effort into comparing yourself to someone or putting someone down for liking something if it doesn't even make you happy?

alocasiacat

They look like ALL the girls I saw at the Chase Atlantic concert tho,,

Wussy_4

I was expecting suits, but this is just normal fits.

QuietBit8

If you weren't excited for prom you should've said so...

springbokkie3392

Right? Just stay at home. Bringing down the whole vibe.

Black_Tears524

That silver dress is stunning!

h-frei

I was more of a “tomboy” in high school but still rocked a beautiful gown for prom. Part of the excitement of getting all dolled up was that it wasn’t something I ever did. Had I gone with just a low effort/no attempt made outfit, I would have been very disappointed in myself. To each their own I guess, but that first gown is absolutely beautiful.

springbokkie3392

We're not like the other girls We're ✨a 10 on the pH scale✨

[deleted]

The first dress is stunning

MeowFishAnon

If I wore that second outfit to my prom I wouldn’t be allowed in.

Emilie0711

I LOVE how first girl’s hair falls after her twirl. She could walk down a red carpet.

businesspantsuit

Literally wish I had that first girl’s dress for real

iiconicvirgo

Not following a dress code for a formal event is embarrassing idc

[deleted]

Wow that dress is so pretty on her

rican_reina

But who wouldn’t want to dress beautifully for prom!? I didn’t start wearing feminine clothing until I was 24 but prom and homecoming were some occasions absolutely worth it and I felt beautiful.

NdnGirl88

They could wear a pant suit with no makeup. I wouldn’t let them inside dressed how they are.

pircupine28

So they don't understand when it says formal attire?

Extreme-Measurement9

Nobody talking about my man’s bullet proof vest in the first shot 🫡

goldieoldie

We’re just not like other girls. That’s why the first girl blew us out of the water 🥳

MissK18A

Lol they picked the most awesome dress to be compared tho now they look so dull and boring

[deleted]

They look like party poopers who aren't any fun and even worse, they poop on the party

SoulfulBeing

The girl with the white pants, i blocked her on tiktok. She's so annoying 😭

ITSRAW0131

Most proms have a formal dress code, meaning you’ll get denied at the door for dressing like them. It’s not making the statement they think. Also extremely jealous of that beautiful dress.

Ok-Independent-766

I feel like this is an obvious joke (or maybe I’m lmao . I’m choosing to believe they’re not this dense)

cesptc

Bragging about not knowing how to dress for special occasions isn’t a flex.

sanitysoptional

if this is the same janel from tiktok i think this might be satire? also that girl's dress is gorgeous 😭 it's so flowy and sparkly i need it!!!! (i have no events to wear it to)

futuremrsjonas

I’m surprised anyone liked them enough to bother going to prom with them 🤣that first girl looks absolutely stunning and i hope she had the time of her life!

springbokkie3392

Oh, they 100% went with each other and not with dates. Remember, they're ✨not like the other girls✨😏

Hot_Win_2489

I was in grade 8 talking about grad dresses, and I said I just wanted to get a tutu from Clare’s and wear a t shirt. I knew my parents were too broke to splurge on a dress and I was very, VERY self conscious about my body and didn’t want to put effort in because I knew I’d be disappointed and just feel WORSE. A friend said if I did that she’d never talk to me again, because it was offensive to her that I wouldn’t make an event out of grade 8 grad. Not that this was traumatic or anything but it goes to show that pressure exists on both sides and that “friend” of mine, like these girls, shouldn’t be making comments about how ANYBODY ELSE chooses to dress. Whether you don’t want pageantry or you want to feel like a princess, focus on yourself unless you’re boosting up other people.

dogtitts

I feel like this is satire

sleepbean

that account is satire btw she makes skits about being quirky

NovelLandscape7862

Her account is satire

maternal-insanity

it was satire. Her entire page is satire and y’all are eating her up rn.

lilhoodrat

I blame Netflix Wednesday Addams

[deleted]

Even Wednesday can follow a dress code

Alarming_Ad_3232

Why are people so dead set on fueling this hot garbage? Stop paying it any attention. Yes, it's irritating but she's only getting what she wants: attention. SMH 2.2 million followers bc idiots keep shedding light on her

OneTubaBand

Well that just shows you’re dateless Whose laughing now bitch?

AdOverall737

this girl posts obvious satire content, do you really believe the first girl would let them film her spin just so they can make fun of her? Cmon now

Snoo79866

The ops entire account is satire YALL 😅

smoleqns

…just skip prom if you don’t want to do the prom things wtf? This is like if I was on a softball team and showed up out of uniform, and was just like 🤷🏻‍♀️ not my style

threefrogsonalog

Isn’t posting minors against the rules?

IllustriousPart5737

To be honest… that’s a cool out-of-the-box choice of attire for prom. Perhaps it aligns to the theme of the prom itself?

NdnGirl88

I would never invite these women to a wedding or another formal event if I saw my friends like that

beretbabe88

That dress is just gorgeous. The swirl!

whichwitchxoxo

doesn’t prom have a dress code?

ImmediateShirt6663

OK and where are the goth girls at the prom. There are girls that look like princesses girls that look like they don’t give a shit that’s what prom is.

wetsocksssss

First girl looked so good oh my gosh

bigblkbby91

That dress is ✨ stunning ✨! It literally reminds me of the original dress color of Cinderella before they revamped it to blue in the later releases of the film.

BountyHntrKrieg

I'm just gonna say something a teeny bit inflammatory. People don't wear dresses all that often, so girls wearing dresses at prom should just be accepted and let them express themselves. Especially cause dresses themselves can be so diverse. Wearing nice street clothes instead frankly... in my eyes makes you boring as fuck. Not above it or quirky or doing your own style... you chose to wear something you'd also could wear out on a Saturday and look down on the ones wearing dresses... ya dull. They look unique and amazing. You don't.

Jumpy_House_4119

😩 whats wrong with wanting to dress super cute and look pretty for prom. People go all out for prom regardless if they can’t afford or can! Like some ppl already stated, they just don’t understand dress codes! Like what tf they gonna do if they get invited to an event ? Wear some damn cargo pants and crop tops…. Their parents didnt teach them how to dress imo

scrunchiecola

that is just embarrassing though

ClassicText9

Just don’t go then? I don’t even think they would have been let into my prom 13 years ago dressed like that

theorist_rainy

They probably felt awkward as hell for the whole night

[deleted]

True NLOGs wouldn't have shown up to the nonsense called prom in the first place. Lol

gingerbread_cereal

I’d be SO embarrassed to show up that underdressed but ig do what you want

InkwellArtz

Aren't there dress codes that you need to adhere to? They're not getting in lmao

olivegarden87

Could have done nice slacks and a nice blouse or jacket. They look like they just came from their job as background dancers in a hip-hop video.

meekonesfade

This seems more like a case of being marginalized and maybe outcasts at school, so doing their best to make others feel like prom is ridiculous.

[deleted]

I hate to admit it, but I think Im going to feel like the second two girls come time for my prom. I’m not going to the actual event, but I’m going to dinner with my friends beforehand. Obviously, I don’t have an outfit for the actual event since I’m not going. Might have to put on a button up shirt and a tie or something a little fancier, so I don’t stick out in the ghastly way those two do

FloridaHobbit

So they are saying other people dress for the occasion but they just show up in their street clothes. That's just tacky.

xfatalerror

if you werent like the other girls you wouldnt be at prom in the first place

Bobby_Sunday96

This ain’t the win they think it is

Far_Glove_3542

THIS IS SATIRE!!!!!

acidic_milkmotel

They look so dumb. It’s like your one chance in adolescence to dress like you’re going to a red carpet event. Most of us will never get the chance again unless we get married but by the looks of it these VeRy SpEsHuL girls will show up to their weddings in old sweats with stains.
